I signed a contract with this company a month ago. I was told that it would take a day or two to get the permit, then they would begin the project with one day for plumbing and one day for electrical. I paid them $4000 down payment and they have basically put me on ignore. When I could get the sales person to answer my texts, I was told that they were waiting on the permit. Today, I called the permitting office and they told me that there was never any permit at all. Even with confronted with her lies, Jana Sherman doubles down and ghosts me. I now have to file a complaint with the attorney general's office to try and recover my money. This may have been a decent company at one time, but not any more. BEWARE. read more

The demand for generators is through the roof right now. We are part of that; we finally got tired of the power outages and wanted to invest in a generator. We signed a contract for a generator Grasten via Costco. Everything went pretty smoothly until the very last, most important step. We failed our inspection because of the way they installed the generator. There is a fire hazard, our gas has been disconnected and the project is currently filed as incomplete with the building department. We can't reach anyone at the company to discuss resolution. It's unbelievable that we can't talk to a human being. It's bad enough they did irresponsible work, but the insult to injury is not being able to resolve it in a timely and responsible manner. We invested in this project to save ourselves the hassle of power outages but instead we have a new hassle of dealing with the shoddy generator company. read more

We have had a brand new Kohler unit purchased and installed by Grasten since August and it has never worked correctly since install. Now we are at the end of October and nobody can get the unit fixed or even return a phone call. When I spoke to a manger in September, he said the technician would come out with a computer to diagnose the problem, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. The technician tried his best, but still does not work. I am very frustrated with the lack of response to my request for service on my generator, especially since I have a service contract that includes monitoring. The last time it ran was 9/11. On 9/18, the error "RPM Sensor Lost" occurred. On 10/2, I called and spoke with Kari, who sent me directions on clearing the error and manual running in case the error was a false negative. It did not run on manual, only giving a slight grunt. Since then, Kari has reported this to service numerous times, but no one has contacted me to address the issue. Since my unit is monitored, why has Grasten not detected that the weekly test run has not occurred for weeks? read more

During last Saturday's storms our our whole house get didn't start during a power outage due to a fault. We called the Grasten emergency number and Dennis Brown came out almost immediately in spite of the pouring rain. The problem turned out to be a bad starting battery that was still under warranty. After 4-5 visits they finally resolved the issue. Started as an ATS communication issue, had to rewire low voltage controller then had to replace controller and ultimately yet another trip to properly set up weekly exercise. Understanding that hurricane Beryl was a significant event, GRASTON totally ghosted us when our relatively new Generac generator stopped working after 2 hrs and left us without power for days. We left detailed messages every day to have someone at least contact us about fulfilling the maintenance agreement . It is now a week later and we have not heard from GRASTON. They may be the largest dealer in the area, but what good did it do to to pay for a maintenance contract when no one will respond with even a phone call or explanation. read more

Had a young service tech by the name of Sean, do a service call / repair on my Generac 22Kw generator. I was very pleased with his demeanor, work ethic, and desire to do more than simply repair the fault (E1505). He found the starter to be bad and replaced it with a "new revised version" which was said to be under warranty. After installing the new warrantied starter, Sean cleaned the unit up very nicely, and ran the unit for a bit to verify all was well. I found Sean to be a very considerate and conscientious, as well as knowledgeable. read more

Prior to emergency they had been very timely and responsive which led us to believe that we would be able to get support when we really needed it. Grasten installed our Generator about a year or so ago. That process went smoothly. Fast forward to the hurricane & after, when you actually need them. You cannot get help. Zero. Been trying for WEEKS to get someone on the phone, voicemail is always full, and even tried emailing. To say the customer service is lacking would be too much credit. It's non existent. We have several issues that need to be addressed, but how ??? I will never recommend this company to anyone. Very disappointed, and frustrated to say the least. 1 seems a bit generous. read more

I told the salesman that I was going to put a patio very close to where the generator was going to be. He measured another area and agreed to put it there. When they sent the guys to install the pad they put it in the original spot. When I questioned it they said that I had signed off on the drawings which I never did. The salesman never made the agreed upon changes. Now the patio is out because it can't go over a gas line. If you use them, double check everything and do no trust them. Their plumber cut the cable line and made no attempt to fix it. We were without internet for 3 days until Xfinity could make the necessary repairs. The guys that poured the pad did a good job and the guy that came for the startup was good. Once again, be careful. Cheaper isn't always better. Lowes should look into their subcontractors better. read more

Update to review, below. Grasten got in touch with us and talked my husband through a work around to the problem. About to have our power out for maintenance tomorrow, so we will see if the generator works! Grasten will still have to send out a tech to install a new switch for the A/C unit. I thought I loved this company. I have referred them uncountable times. It appears they no longer bother to take care of their customers, as they are too busy selling more generators. We have a maintenance agreement with them. We have had a problem for 2 weeks now. The switch Grasten installed to control our A/C has failed and made our A/C quit working. We have called and called Grasten. Their VM was full and it said to email. So we emailed. We called again and again, finally we could leave a voicemail. No one is returning our calls nor emails. Yes, I understand that there was a hurricane a little over a month ago. However, it's not as if you are out there doing repair work. It would appear you are just busy selling more generators. The friends to whom I referred to you recently are all saying that it is taking months just to get an appointment to buy one. To be clear, we own one of your generators and our house is ridiculously hot, not because we have no electricity, but because of the switch Grasten installed! Looking at your responses to other reviews, you are saying it might take months to get to everyone. Does that mean I need to call an electrician and just pay to have this fixed myself? If it is truly going to take you months to get to us, then yes, that is what I will do. Just please communicate with us. How many people paid (a lot of money!) for maintenance agreements and you are not honoring them? This has got class action lawsuit written all over it. read more
