Plenty of seating inside and some outside as well. They have a wide selection of drinks, bagels, and sandwiches on their menu and they are very friendly and willing to answer any questions about menu items. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich, and a Thai tea. The sandwich came out hot and fresh, it was delicious and a good size for the price. The Thai tea was a little. When I heard that Javamore Cafe was closing in Penngrove, I was really hopeful that something like a sit-down breakfast diner would go into its place. When I saw that grateful bagel was moving in, I tried so hard to withhold judgment until I actually went there, since I had tried their other locations and found the experience to be extremely mediocre every time. We arrived in the morning to an open parking lot and no customers in the cafe. It looked a lot like they had kept most of the fixtures of the past cafe and made some small tweaks. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and hubby ordered a sausage egg and cheese bagel. Since it was opening week, we both were given a free coffee which was nice so I tried the Brazil roast and he tried the Kona roast. Despite the fact that we were the only ones there, it took a really long time for our two bagels to be made. I took some photos and waited for our food which we ended up taking to go because the music in the restaurant was super loud and we could barely hear ourselves over the volume. At home we tried the coffee and it was somehow both very watered down and extremely bitter and we ended up pouring both coffees out. My bagel was barely toasted and although it was a plain bagel with plain cream cheese, it somehow tasted big time like jalapenos. The texture of the bagel was more like plain bread and not bagel-like at all. Hubby had a similar experience with his bagel sandwich, was stating that all tasted pre-made and reheated and more like doughy circular bread than a bagel. I really hoped that this iteration of grateful bagel was going to be different given all of the bakery competition in Penngrove. Full circle bakery is literally in the same parking lot, Penngrove market is a culinary competitor on its own, and with the absolutely amazing Sonoma Mountain Breads coming in just around the corner, I do not know how grateful bagel is going to be able to keep their doors open with this low level of food quality. Came in on a Saturday morning. Location has tons of parking. Very clean inside. Lots of table and chairs available. Staff is very friendly. I ordered the harvest bagel on a sesame bagel. It was soo good. The freshness of the bagel was obvious. Light crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside. Their Vietnamese iced coffee was delicious as well. Come try out this local bagel shop in Penngrove. I can't wait to try other items on their menu. read more

We are so excited to have a Grateful Bagel near us! Just as good as the Sebastopol location. The ladies working there were super nice. Lots of great options on the menu! We got there at the right time, people started to come in after we ordered! We enjoyed our bagels inside at a table, which had hot sauce and ketchup! They also have outside seating. We will definitely be back especially because the breakfast burritos are calling my name!! read more

$40 for two burritos and a sandwich. Last time I got the bacon egg and cheese and it was literally the worst egg sandwich I've ever had in my life. There are lots of flies and the vibe is super weird--like dance music blasting at 7am. Employees are not friendly and the food takes a long time. A VERY long time. I haven't had the coffee, but maybe it's great? I feel bad being so negative but this place just bums me out. Super cute space and plenty of outdoor and indoor seats. Coffee was really good and flavorful. Drip is 1$ refills and they have light, medium, and dark roast. This place is so depressing. It used to be a very cute mom & pop shop with great atmosphere and friendly faces. When I came in today the boy at the front laughed at me after I asked if they had any child friendly options. Usually restaurant accommodate children, not this place. Now for the food; the glass doors to the bagels was fully open as well as their outdoor doors so of course plenty of flies in the bagels I watched them give my order to someone else then half close it and put it in a bag for me. They messed up the burrito we got and it was so soggy. The one we got for our kids had a touch of avocado on the very bottom of the tortilla, did they mess up and decide to scrape the avocado off? It was not good. The prices are pretty bad for the quality of the food and service. This place is definitely a one star. By the looks of the current reviews I wouldn't be surprised if it got there quickly. read more

We went to get coffee at java more, only to discover it's now a grateful bagel. Decided to stay because they are also a local place (vs a chain). However it was a very disappointing experience. Slow service even though no one else was there and we little just ordered plain coffee. The woman then asked if I wanted some half n half, which I did. She brought me a carton and it was 5 days expired. The whole place seemed kind of dirty, disorganized, and overly casual about running a business. Bummer. read more

I stopped by there this morning and ordered a bagel w/cream cheese n lox. I was the only customer at that time. I didn't open my bag until I arrived home. Much to my surprise, I had a bagel with plain cream cheese (wasn't even a lox smear). I know I ordered correctly because I checked and I received $8 dollars change out of $20. That means I paid $12 for a plain bagel with a smear of cream cheese. Since I live in Penngrove n go by almost every day, I was really hoping this could be my go to place. It's Father's Day and my husband and I thought we would check out this restaurant. It was subpar to say the least. I ordered pancakes bacon and eggs. The eggs were good but the bacon was cold and old. The one pancake was burnt. They gave me potatoes but they were cold. My husband got the eggs Benedict, the sauce was broken and the potatoes were cold. We ordered from the counter and I gave a 15% tip. They brought the food and that was it , nobody came outside to ask about the food or if we needed anything, I can overlook a lot but they weren't busy. So glad they opened a spot in Penngrove! Their bagels are my favorite in Sonoma County. I grew up with them in Sebastopol and I'm so excited to have them nearby again. Always super fresh and great flavor options. Pizza bagel, pesto bagel and jalapeño are my favorite! Love their flavored cream cheeses too, and their breakfast bagel sandwiches awesome. This place is such a solid addition to Penngrove! The bagels are excellent and the location is super convenient. The Sebastopol location has been a long time staple for me and I've grown up loving their bagels. The staff is friendly and cool. The food is very tasty here and some of the freshest bagels I have ever tried. I'm glad a new eatery also opened up in this location because I was missing the old Javamore Cafe. I have only tried their sesame and onion bagels with a side of cream cheese, but there's something about the "chew" of these bagels that hit the right spot. It's not too hard or dry tasting. Just right. I have also gotten the tuna melt with avocado on a croissant and it's delicious. They also have satisfying breakfast items. And their veggie delight breakfast sandwich is my favorite and very freshly packed (generously!) with all the ingredients. This location seems to be run by a whole family, and I have only had wonderful customer service the 5 times I have been in so far. All the staff at this location are very friendly and helpful and it's nice to feel like I am supporting a small business owner and their family. I can imagine it's difficult to start a new restaurant - so they still are working out some minor kinks- but I wish them continued success! read more
