Ron did amazing work taking out some old carpets and revitalizing the gross wood underneath until it looked beautiful!!! He was great to schedule with, very flexible and working around our needs. We got a few quotes and Grateful Floors was actually the lowest cost, and the final price paid matched what we were expecting! Quality of work and cost are my top priorities, which alone earned a 5 star review, but the extra bit of Ron being such a friendly guy, offering help me move some of our furniture, and flexibility and availability really puts Grateful Floors on another level. We've worked with another flooring company the past, and while they were also good, there is no question we will be reaching out to Ron Grateful Floors for any future floor projects. Thanks, Ron!!!

Ron and his brother Dave have well over 70 years combined experience installing and refinishing hardwood floors. They are definitely from the old school of doing things, which is one of the reasons I decided to have Grateful Floors redo our hard woods, because they don't cut corners! They are also about one of the only floor refinishers, in our area, that don't push the water based coatings like every other contractor, and instead prefer to use the original Swedish floor finishing products since they are more durable and outlast anything else on the market today. However, they also will use water based coatings when requested. Swedish floor finishing is more time consuming, labor intensive, and requires a three day process to apply, but the results are absolutely worth it if you don't want to redo your hardwoods every five years or less. Anytime you have your floors refinished it's a major inconvenience, but Dave and Ron were very careful to properly prepare our home for the refinishing process, including masking off areas of the house for dust and informing us of each step of the process as well as what time they would show up for work etc. They were always prompt, and true to their work with a high degree of attention to detail. I would highly recommend Grateful Floors to anyone looking to have their floors refinished both for the finished product as well as their costs which was very reasonable as well.

I just bought my first home and the original red oak floors were badly stained, scuffed and heavily scratched. The transformation was nothing short of amazing. The floors look new. (They are over 60 years old!) The refinishing really brought out the beautiful color and grain of the red oak. The floors are smooth to the touch. The rooms were transformed by the refinishing. I originally got three bids from refinishers. Two quoted over $1800 before any repairs that might be needed. Ron was the only one who actually came out to look at the floors to give a good estimated bid. He was friendly and knowledgeable, he is a craftsman and his attention to detail is outstanding. I had one board in front of a door that had been badly damaged, he came up with a solution that blended in perfectly with the old floor boards. He took the time to explain how to care for the floors to keep them looking great. (The instructions were eco-friendly!) Ron was punctual, professional and delivered. The pictures say it all. I got my dream floors and I owe it all to Ron.

What a stellar company. Ron and his brother took fantastic care of our hardwoods. We have a lot of traffic with four kids a cat a dog and lots of company, they were in sad shape and they now look remarkable! I found out their dad taught them their trade many years ago, these guys are professionals who know their business better than anyone I've worked with in the past or spoken to in the present. They were true to their estimate and their time schedule, and a delight to work with. I would recommend them without hesitation.

    Lovely, silky-smooth finish.

I cannot recommend Ron and Grateful Floors highly enough. Our old-growth fir floors are more beautiful than ever. Ron artfully repaired any damage the floors had, then sanded, buffed and finished them to a silky smoothness. We are completely satisfied with the craftsmanship and professionalism of Grateful Floors. Hire Grateful Floors! Look no further! We're going to have the rest of our home's floors refinished next year. I wouldn't consider going when anyone but Ron.

This was quality at its best. Several years later the floors that they "wove in" look just as good and match with our original 1967 oak.

We experienced poor communication from the start. We had to initiate timing, scheduling, process, etc information. If I were not experienced with remodeling and project management I wonder how we would have known anything. Just as an example, Brad actually called us 2 days before the project was to start to tell us they wanted to start a day early. All the planning that went into preparing our home (emptying all bedrooms and closets and moving out of our house) needed to shift. Ha. Fortunately, he had actually already asked us a couple weeks earlier-he had forgotten! Communication did not improve. Then there was the mess they left. Our driveway was badly stained, trash was left in our yard, and handprints from floor-stain hands were left everywhere. When we brought this to Brad's attention (supported by photos) and asked what was spilled so we would know how to clean it up, he deflected and was insulting to us. Denying and then trying to blame it on other contractors (there were not any), our landscapers (not) and was combative. We scrubbed the stain ourself and paid for a professional pressure wash of driveway, yet the stains remain. We finally got tired of Brad, paid the second half of bill ($11K) and washed our hands of them.

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that their white grout can have a tendency to turn yellow over time. I also later learned that many professional tile installers refuse to use Laticrete white epoxy grout because of this issue. Because epoxy grout cures as hard as cement, the problem was extremely difficult to fix. To make matters worse, the contractor who originally installed it refused to fix the problem. I spoke with several professionals and was told that the only options were either to remove and replace all of the tile or use a grinder to remove the yellowed grout, which could chip and damage the marble. After doing extensive research, including using ChatGPT, Sir Grout was recommended as the best company for the job. There was only one person at Sir Grout who had both the experience to remove Laticrete epoxy grout and the willingness to take on such a challenging project. His name is David, and he is awesome. Not a single tile was damaged during the process, and he used a different manufacturer's white grout that will not turn yellow. Sir Grout also provides a one-year written guarantee on the grout work. In addition, the white tile itself had begun to show yellow staining, and Sir Grout was able to remove almost all of those stains as well. Needless to say, I will be using Sir Grout enthusiastically for any and all future projects involving tile or grout. "$8,844.00 is paid to Sir Grout Seattle, LLC.
