The owners are incredibly warm and present, you can tell they genuinely care about their guests. We saw them every day, and that personal touch made the experience feel welcoming and safe, not just like another RV stop. The park itself is small and cozy, which we loved. It creates a peaceful, community feel without any of the noise or chaos you sometimes get at larger parks. Traveling with our dog can sometimes be challenging, but not here. The fenced dog area was a huge win,our pup absolutely loved it and felt comfortable enough to play and explore freely. That alone made our stay so much more relaxing. Now, I have to talk about the facilities,because I'm very particular about this. The showers and bathrooms are, without question, the best I've ever experienced at an RV park. They are spotless, thoughtfully designed, and this is key, there's actually space to set down all your things. Anyone who travels regularly knows how rare and appreciated that is. Every detail here reflects care, pride, and intention. If you're looking for a clean, welcoming, and truly comfortable place to stay in the Niceville area, Cozy RV Lodge is a gem. Looked like a good place to go so we tried booking a reservation for two days (Sun/Mon). Website…read morewould not take a credit card (error messages). Called them on Monday afternoon and we were told the credit card part on the website wasn't set up. So we asked to make a reservation. We were told we didn't need one just show up. When we arrived we drove down a single lane pothole riddled clay road for a half mile. Upon arriving at the entrance we were greeted with a river crossing to actually get to the facility and parking area (picture below). If I had a truck it wouldn't have been bad but the ruts under the water surface were at least 2 ft deep. Driving a Honda Accord through this "Entrance" was not an option. So we turned around and went to the competitors canoe rental. My one star rating is only based on my attempt to get there. I did not actually get to use their facilities or services. It would have been nice to be told of the water crossing by the employee on the phone. If you do go there "ASK" about the water depth if you are driving a car.

You sign a waiver and you have to weigh between 70 to 250 pounds for the zip line. Our two tour guides Jaeda and Spencer were amazing. As someone who's never zip lined before, they were comforting and patient. I think this zip line tour was good for beginners and kids. I think there were 10(?) zip lines that were approx 300 feet each. I'd prefer a longer one next time!

We visited the Gulfarium in Fort Walton Beach and absolutely loved it! There was so much to see,…read moreincluding sea turtles, stingrays, penguins, alligators, sea lions, dolphins, and many other amazing animals. One of the things my hubby and I loved the most is that the Gulfarium also serves as a rehabilitation center for marine life. Many animals are treated and released back into the ocean whenever possible, while others that could not survive in the wild are given a safe and caring home. We saw a sea turtle with two missing flippers, which was both heartbreaking and made us happy at the same time since it wouldn't stand a chance to live in the wild. We watched both the sea lion and dolphin shows, and they were great. It was so nice to see that the trainers genuinely care about the animals. The animals were rewarded with plenty of treats, attention, and affection throughout the presentations. My favorite part of the entire visit was seeing the manatees. I had only ever seen them in pictures before, and I completely fell in love. They are such gentle, peaceful, and beautiful creatures. I could have watched them all day!

We saw stingrays, dolphins, penguins, manatees, turtles, crocodiles, pelicans, snakes, lizards, frogs, and many other animals. Even though we missed the scheduled shows, there was still plenty to see and enjoy at our own pace. One of the best parts was learning that they care for many rescue animals and help rehabilitate and release them back into the ocean when possible. It was great seeing a place focused on marine animal rescue and conservation. The park was family friendly and easy to walk through, with lots of close-up animal encounters. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 is that some of the animal habitats and viewing areas were not very well maintained. A few tanks had noticeable algae buildup, which made it difficult to clearly see some of the animals. Overall though, we still had a good experience and would recommend visiting if you are in the Fort Walton Beach area.

Getting to go to the inlet side where the lake water met the ocean (& it was SO clear) was really fun, too. I recommend going at 9 o'clock when things are cooler & you might get to see more birds. Courtney and Katie provided excellent customer service. Note- The kayaks we had did not have a waterproof compartment. I double Ziploc bagged my cell phone. (I was able to get some great photos since the water was smooth & I was comfortable getting the phone out.) You might want to bring along one of those waterproof containers that you can bungee on to the boats storage cords, if you have one, though to be safer!
