hard tape lines from respray and done wrong.

I bought a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C63 S AMG from Gravity Autos Chicago after the salesperson described it to me in writing as "pristine." The deal itself was fair. Everything after that is why I would never purchase another vehicle from them. At pickup, the car had a flat tire, the TPMS warning was already on before I left, and the vehicle had not been properly detailed. Their business manager later apologized in writing and acknowledged that these issues should have been handled or disclosed to me. After bringing the car home, I had its expensive matte paint inspected locally. The technician told me that numerous areas appeared to have been refinished, including the bumpers, quarter panels, doors, side skirts, and A-pillars. I was also shown inconsistent texture, masking lines, poor edge work, and signs of filler or previous repair around the front bumper. I documented those concerns and reported them to Gravity in writing. I repeatedly asked simple questions: Did the dealership know about the prior paint or bodywork? Did it have inspection, auction, appraisal, vendor, or reconditioning records? What was it proposing to do about the condition concerns? Instead of directly answering, the owner said Gravity had not repainted the car, pointed to its 40-plus listing photos and the availability of pre-purchase inspections and videos, and said he was "not surprised" an eight-year-old vehicle had repairs. That never answered whether the dealership knew about the prior work or what it intended to do to resolve the situation. I repeatedly explained that I loved the car and wanted to keep it if Gravity would help make the situation right. The documented email chain ends with my condition questions unanswered and no meaningful resolution proposed. If this is what Gravity Autos considers "pristine," buyers should be extremely cautious. Get an independent mechanical and paint/body inspection before signing anything, and get every representation in writing. My experience was an inadequately prepared delivery, serious post-sale condition concerns, and a dealership that stopped short of providing real answers or a solution. I would not buy here again.

To further add since I can't reply, the part where we spoke to a "manger or owner" on Sunday........ you guys didn't get started or even called back till Thursday of that week. We left a message and figured after speaking to someone it would get handled with any type of hurry.

Simone was super attentive, covered all my questions and super pleasant making the whole buying experience a joy. Thank you for getting me to my amazing BMW iX. I was here many times before without buying and always had a hassle free experience. I love that about this place. They always are so pressure free and enjoyable.

A Monroney label, which I guess is not correct.

I learned something new today. I guess Monroney labels can't be trusted. It's always best to get a copy of the actual Window sticker from the manufacturer or a dealer. Since the options they listed on the website did not match the label they put on their website , I assumed they were misrepresenting the vehicle. My initial review, which I have since removed, stated this. There was some confusion this morning with Don, a sales guy and the owner and a misunderstanding. And now they choose to ignore me. Oh well, there's plenty of dealers and vehicles to choose from these days. I suggest they review the label before including it on their listings. They could miss out on some sales. And by the look of these reviews on yelp, I probably dodged a bullet, especially after fighting the review for about a week ago, where they sold somebody a total lemon. Hopefully she sues.

Disrespectful Staff & Shady Credit Abuse - Stay Away I texted the dealership at 9:30 AM to show interest, apply for credit, and to let them know I'd be negotiating the price of a car. Instead of handling that professionally, shortly after we arrived, John B. laughed at my partner during negotiations. Total lack of respect. I agreed to let them run my credit once that morning, and I was approved through their credit department. But after we left the dealership at 7:30 PM, in retaliation to an argument, the business maliciously ran my credit three more times without permission. That's not just shady -- it's a violation of federal law. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires consent for each credit inquiry. They had zero reason to touch my credit again. Now my report has multiple hard inquiries that never should've happened -- and my score was impacted. I had a 742 credit score. These people do not care about your privacy, your time, or your financial well-being. Avoid Gravity Autos Chicago. They're disrespectful, careless, and dangerous to your credit.

Not only was I happy with their $ offer, but their customer service was top-notch. What a well-oiled machine! Their purchasing process is very structured, and the staff member who helped me was efficient and kept me informed about what the steps were and how much more time it would take. Sales side was solid: Tabitha communicated well (including a title delay), and when I came in, Dean and Christian had me in and out in under an hour. No complaints there. Service/conditioning was a miss. The car was handed over unclean dusty, no basic wipe-down, nothing. When I asked for it to be cleaned, it wasn't taken back for a proper wash/detail. Instead, a tech did a quick, partial wipe-down with a rag and sent me on my way. That felt careless and below dealership standards especially for a vehicle being delivered to a customer. I ended up paying out of pocket to get the car properly detailed elsewhere. Shout out to Detail Doctor!! Aldo! I'd still shop CarMax for the buying process, but this location needs to tighten up its service/conditioning before delivery. It's a basic expectation.

I found Enrique on Yelp and made a call. The car runs great but the mileage is high. When I called Enrique I knew I was in good hands. I had priced my car online so I had an idea what to expect. After we spoke, he gave me an appraisal over the phone, which was more than fair. It was actually more than I considered getting for the car. The buyer came to my office to purchase the car the very next day and was very professional. He verified the information that I gave him by phone, paid me in cash and removed the vehicle. That evening I was at the dealership with cash in hand! If you are trying to sell your car then I highly recommend sellmyusedcarfastforcashwithenriqueinchicago.com. This was an awesome experience.

It's a very long story, but essentially there was an issue with the car I intended to purchase, and I appreciate that they were honest with me about it up front rather than trying to cover it up just to close the deal and make the sale. They have integrity here. I was then going to get a different car color, but then some things in my personal life came up that put everything on hold for a few weeks. By the time I was ready to get a car, they didn't have the one I wanted in stock, but another dealership that was even closer to me did, so instead of waiting for a dealer trade I went ahead with the other dealership. But, everyone at Highland Park was great - I worked with Ken and Daniel and they were very accommodating and patient, and it's very low-pressure here. A lot of people complain on here about the "Lexus Plus" no-haggle setup, but in all my extensive research and trying to get other dealers to negotiate, HP's pricing was extremely fair and most other dealerships "best and final" offer was higher than HP's set pricing. It was also extremely straight-forward in terms of the one-person from start to finish process. The dealership is also very nice inside, which I would expect from Lexus, but wasn't always the case at other Lexus dealerships. Everyone I interacted with was kind and helpful, so this place does take some of the stress out of a car buying.

    ## 82-Day Registration Failure, Legal Exposure, and Total Management Abandonment…read more I purchased a new 2025 Lexus RX 500h from Lexus of Highland Park on April 15, 2026. While the sales associate handled the initial showroom transaction politely, the post-sale administrative handling and upper-management conduct fell completely below basic industry, legal, and consumer standards. **Improper Plate Transfer:** At delivery, dealership staff transferred and mounted my Nebraska personalized plates ("J STYLE") onto the new vehicle. They assured me this was legal, despite my explicit objections that the plates belonged to my trade-in vehicle. **82-Day Loss of Legal Use:** Due to administrative mishandling and an original title reportedly lost in transit, the paperwork did not arrive until late Friday, July 3, 2026. Because of the holiday weekend, the vehicle could not be legally registered until Monday, July 6, 2026, depriving me of lawful use for 82 days. **Dismissive Management:** Sales Director Julio Gomez characterized an 82-day delay as "normal" and recklessly advised me to simply "show a police officer the bill of sale" if stopped while driving across state lines. **Documented Financial Losses:** Operating out of state with mismatched registration created serious legal, citation, and insurance risks. I was forced to cancel a planned road trip, incurring $1,800 in nonrefundable airline and travel expenses, while continuing to pay insurance and monthly loan installments on a vehicle that had to remain parked. **Broken Executive Commitments:** Mr. Gomez acknowledged the failure and promised a goodwill compensation package once the paperwork arrived. After the paperwork was received on July 3, Mr. Gomez, Director Julian Keller, General Manager Benjamin Nusinow, and Owner/Dealer Principal Alan Nusinow ceased all communication. They refused to answer calls, return emails, or honor their commitment. A luxury-car buyer should never face months of legal vulnerability, out-of-pocket financial damage, and complete abandonment by ownership once the funds have cleared. This matter has been escalated to Lexus Corporate and formally submitted to the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau. Buyers--especially out-of-state customers--should exercise extreme caution before trusting this dealership's administrative office and executive leadership. -- Jerry E. Johnson
