I had a disappointing experience with Audi Exchange St. Charles while trying to look at a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E 350, stock SCP1246 / VIN WDDHF8JB9EA838132. I inquired about the vehicle on Saturday, May 23, 2026. I received an iPacket at about 3:26 p.m. and an email shortly after saying the vehicle was available. Since I was already in Illinois and interested in the car, I drove about 45 minutes and roughly 45 miles out of my way to see it. When I arrived, we were able to visually inspect the car. While we were looking for it, the salesperson asked whether I had already been in before to look at that same vehicle, which made me wonder if there was already some confusion about its status. After looking it over, I asked to hear it run. When the salesperson went to get the keys, I was then told the vehicle was being bought or held by someone else. The salesperson offered to help us look at other vehicles, but at that point I decided we were done and left. The next day, the same vehicle was still listed on the dealership's website with options to confirm availability, schedule a test drive, and start the buying process. I understand used cars can sell quickly, and I am not saying anyone acted intentionally. I also realise this may not be unique to this dealership. But from a customer's point of view, the communication and inventory status were not handled well. In 2026, the technology exists to avoid sending customers to see vehicles that are already sold, held, or otherwise unavailable. At minimum, listings should be updated promptly or clearly marked as pending. If the industry cannot do that consistently, clearer rules may be needed. Given the extra time and mileage, some acknowledgement of the inconvenience would have gone a long way. None was offered. Based on my experience, I would not make another trip to this dealership unless a manager confirmed in writing that the exact vehicle was available, on site, ready to be started, and actually being held for my appointment. read more

We went to 3 Audi dealerships to find an RS3 with the options and color we wanted. Audi of Morton Grove was a good experience, I recommend them and Ivaylo was great, but they didn't have specifically what we wanted on the lot or coming in. No pushback on a test drive, very easy to do business with these guys. Audi Hoffman Estates had an allocation but jerked us around on price and and played games like saying that coming in at MSRP was a big maybe, "we'll see," and wanted a 3k deposit. They also were gatekeeping the test drive, saying that they don't do that here unless you're an extremely serious buyer. I do not recommend this place. In contrast, Luis at the Audi Exchange, was super nice and direct. He agreed to MSRP and a 1k deposit on the exact build we wanted. Luis gave us plenty of updates on the car's journey from Germany to Highland Park and even facillated a set of Pirelli winter tires at wholesale price to be included in the transaction. Dan the finance manager was also great and didn't waste our time with the endless upsells you usually get. You're in great hands with these guys. They also have lots of good snacks including protein bars. read more

No one bothered figuring out why the oil was burning. I purchased a 2019 S63 on January 12, 2026. On the way home, the engine light came on. I took it to a Mercedes-Benz dealership for inspection, and they determined the problem was with the engine timing chain/timing system, requiring replacement. Illinois law stipulates that all vehicles sold are covered by a 500-mile or 15-day powertrain warranty. When I went back to request repairs, they refused, stating that the engine timing chain is not considered part of the powertrain. I am seeking legal assistance and will be filing a lawsuit against them. read more

I recently purchased a brand-new AUDI SQ5, and the stereo system works only intermittently. The dealership has admitted they do not have a fix for it and have no idea when AUDI will provide one. Under Illinois Lemon Law, the dealer is required to repair the defect, refund the purchase, or replace the vehicle after a reasonable number of repair attempts (four or more, or if the vehicle has been out of service for 30+ days). Despite this, this dealer has stated they will not do anything required by law. Terrible customer service and complete disregard for consumer rights. Do NOT shop here! Update: The issue happened again and they still are unable to guarantee a fix. This is a safety issue that is being ignored. read more

Extremely Disappointed -- Misdiagnosis Cost Me $1,700 and Zero Accountability I brought my Audi in because I suspected a brake issue. Instead of actually investigating what I came in for, the service department quickly convinced me it was a wheel bearing problem. Trusting their supposed expertise, I authorized the $1,700 repair. Not long after, the exact same issue came right back -- and when I brought the car back in, they suddenly agreed it was a brake problem after all, exactly what I had said in the first place. So now I've spent $1,700 on unnecessary work, and the real issue was never addressed the first time. What's worse is that the dealership refuses to take responsibility for their original misdiagnosis. I've never experienced such poor accountability from a "luxury" brand. If this is how Audi stands behind their customers, I'll make sure everyone I know hears about it. I'll be taking my car -- and my future business -- elsewhere. read more

Had to take the car into service before leaving due to software issues with CarPlay, not a result of anything the dealer could prepare for but extended my stay by a couple hours.
