BEWARE Muller scams seniors and maybe others. They told me I needed a transmission flush since our Jetta had 67,000 miles. I contacted my previous dealer Jennings Volkwagon, and Jennings told me I had a recent transmission fluid flush at 63,000 miles last year. So they told me I needed another transmission fluid flush soon after I got one from Jennings Volkswagen. I do not recommend this Muller Volkswagon service dealer. read more

On 06/08/2024 I had gone in to get a golf r and was able to get it, but about a month ago I had gone to see if I could get it then, was not able to, but I had first worked with Nate who was great honestly, but we were unable to make the deal, then my dad and the used car manager David were trying to get me approved for the car, but were unsuccessful, and just yesterday we gave it one last try and it was honestly such a great experience, gave me a good deal for my trade it, lowered the price on the car for me, and I also had worked with David the sales guy, come to find out he's been there for almost 7 years, everyone worked hard to get me this deal and we were able to get it, last year I had a really bad experience with gurnee's Volkswagen, but here at muller's it was something completely different, honestly happy with the deal I got, happy with everyone's effort to try and get me this car, and it's just that even after a month and 2 failed attempts, they still gave it their 100% with me, my dad is not an easy man to satisfy, but with this experience he even said that he plans to come trade in our 2022 atlas within a couple of months, would honestly recommend on coming here for a great Volkswagen, 10/10. read more

When I moved to Highland Park I was apprehensive about a going to a new VW Service spot. WELL LET ME SAY THIS- I was treated like a queen by Conor Crawford. He went above and beyond to help me out. He got me a loaner right away and kept in contact with me throughout the labor intensive repairs. I had the loaner for almost 3 weeks and all thanks to Mr Conor Crawford. Unfortunately the Costco Auto Program does not have any VW dealerships in the Milwaukee area, the closest being Muller Subaru and Volkswagen in Highland Park, a 75 mile drive. My car was totaled by a tire on the interstate so I was in a bit of a rush to buy a new car and driving almost 90 minutes each way to Muller was not in the cards for me, especially as I would not have a way to get the rental car back to Hertz back home if I had bought a vehicle. That being said, Sebastian P at Muller was great to deal with. He had no issues communicating with me via email--perfect as I spend a lot of my day in meetings and conference calls, making phone calls difficult--provided options and a level of care that you don't see these days at dealerships. I had to buy my new vehicle elsewhere because of the aforementioned distance, but would recommend Sebastian to anyone living closer to Highland Park! read more

I wish I could give zero stars! This staff is not knowledgeable or possibly chooses to ignore defects in vehicles. I had a problem with my vehicle that was only diagnosed when I took it to another dealer. Apparently, an issue prevalent in this particular make and model, however the staff in Highland Park was unable or perhaps unwilling to diagnose the problem after several stints in the service dept. I got my deceased father's 2009 Jetta TDI and brought it in for VW service in Highland Park. I wanted it gone over because it had been sitting for a year and a half. After spending a bundle for 80,000 mile service, I was advised there were two broken springs that needed immediate attention for a total of $2164.00. I took it somewhere else that charged less to get the springs replaced, and was told the springs weren't broken. The repair shop provided photos to document it. I've trusted Muller service with my 2007 Rabbit for many years and now wonder how many times I paid for work that wasn't immediately necessary or worse, needed at all. back here again. against our better judgement we decided to lease again through Muller. suffice to say it's been an absolute nightmare with the lease end of our former vehicle. the amount of run around and hoops we have jumped through for simple answers on why we are being charged for damages on the former car when we had vehicle protection, sold to us from their leasing agent who assured us it would be covered. the disconnect between their team's sales tactics and management or perhaps the dishonest behavior they've been persuaded to enact has left me at a loss. we intend to fight their claim and most certainly will never do business with these crooks again. plenty of other VW dealerships in the area that don't have such a shoddy reputation when it comes to customer service and simple honesty. read more

Giving this place a 5 out of 5 solely because of the amazing Sales Specialist who helped us every step of the way, David Truong. He helped my boyfriend and I purchase our first car and made us feel so comfortable. If only they had more stars. This place is amazing. I don't like dealerships. I think there's constant pressure. When I bought this car I had to negotiate my price just like everyone else, and that was uncomfortable. The staff was really nice thought. The structure of car buying itself is the uncomfortable thing. HOWEVER! Boy am I glad I bought my car at highland park. Because the repair staff at Volkswagen highland park is irreplaceable. Alan has been the one checking my car in for repairs and maintenance every time this year. And I can say with 200% confidence you will not meet someone better than him. Diligent, caring, humorous, and genuinely looking out for you. The staff under him are a cheery bunch, always takes the extra step to vaccum my car (a statement of "hey lady maybe you should vacuum your car" lol). I live far now from this dealership, but I drive the extra 20 miles to get here. If I were to ever move, I would take a road trip just so I can be back here to get my car fixed. Our salesman was David Truong, and he truly made the car buying experience easy. This was my daughters first vehicle, and he made sure that she walked away form the experience with a positive outlook on the whole process. We had some concerns for some item on the vehicle during the test drive and before even inquiring if we wanted to discuss purchasing the vehicle, as soon as we returned he had the vehicle taking into the service department and all three of our concerns were immediately addressed and resolved to our satisfaction after a follow up test drive. Then we discussed purchasing the vehicle. We ran into some struggles in the negotiation, and the whole time, he made sure we were comfortable, and offered refreshments while we waited. He acknowledged that we drove almost an hour to look at a specific vehicle on his lot and he was very respectful of our time, and made sure that we knew he'd help us get to a point where we were happy with the price, and he did just that. David remained positive and polite during the entire process. Got us several waters and snacks while we waited. This review is for the Volkswagen service department. I was driving home from work and got a nail in my tired. Bummer. Also had to drive 25 miles that night to an appointment and driving with a nail in my tire made me nervous. I called and requested an appointment. They told me that as long as the nail didn't hit the wall, I could get it serviced without an appointment. I made it to Muller 45 min before their service department closed. They got my tire patched up in 30 min and it was only $27! Oh, and they washed my car. Was very pleased with a fixed tire, quick service, and a clean car. Thanks! read more

*LONG POST* Recently just bought a Volkswagen Certified used 2016 Jetta on April 27th. Ian, who was a fairly new salesman none the less, did a great job making the car buying process smooth as it could be. The finance manager Rick Tandy stayed late to make it possible for me to leave with a car that day. Both we're great guys! A week or so goes by with the brand new car that I bought for my girlfriend, as I am finally able to drive the car myself on the highway I start to hear this noise as if the tires were cupping a fairly loud thudding sound and the steering wheel has a slight shake. I notice the steering wheel is off alignment as well, so I knew that something was wrong. That same week I left for vacation for 7 days, as I return I'm just getting back to work and we are working overtime, so it's difficult to take the car in for servicing. I finally make it in to service on Thursday May 23rd, still within the 30 days of buying the car. After inspection they come to me and I am told that I need new tires, that the tires being old is causing them to ware down unevenly and causing my car to shake and the tires to cup also making the steering wheel go out of alignment. (When I took the car for a test drive I noticed a sound to the car but was assured that all cars have a certain noise to them, so my mind was at ease) when I bought the car the Volkswagen inspection said there was at least 60-70 percent of tread life left. Used tires should be able to last upwards of half a year, well at least more than a month. I ask to speak to the service manager. David Rendon is the pre-owned sales manager he comes over, shakes my hand and explains to me that my car doesn't need tires that service is trying to take my money. Oh thanks! The service techs working explain to him that I need new tires, this is where everything starts to take a turn, he begins to raise his voice, pumping out his chest and well talking down to me because I am youth. Being only 23 years old and being out numbered 4 employees to a weee 1 customer. David looks at the car, sees a scratch on the hub cap and says "well you must of hit something and caused the wheels to bend because all our cars our fully inspected. We are not scammers!". After two service techs inspected and drove the car, he brings the idea of a bent wheel. They test the wheel balance, it is a little off (50-75). (It's inevitable to not hit a pothole! I live in Chicago!). We take the car out for another test drive after balancing them back to normal. As we get onto 41 going south, I'm at highway speed (60mph-80mph) my car still continues to shake and make a thudding noise. David says "well any car is going to shake at 70mph". We go back, drive another car same year, same everything, the car drives great, no noise, no shaking like a certified used car should if it's been fully inspected. At this point David is nowhere to be seen after the mechanic and I get back from the test drive. The service consultant calls David and explains the situation once again and he comes to the conclusion that I will be given new tires. I am no one to want anything free, I work construction and work hard for every dollar earned. I just expect a CERTIFIED used vehicle to drive just as new as a new vehicle with no miles on it should. (given some faults obviously) I would have never bought the car if it wasn't Volkswagen certified, given the warranty I was confident I can come back and having the vehicle serviced hassle free. Here I was fighting to have my one month used car serviced with the pre-owned car manager. After all that, I am leaving dissatisfied with the service from the MANAGER. Being recommended by family and friends to this place I will continue to service my car here pleased with the help from the service consultants, the salesman and ultimately the technicians (who stayed late to help) but I leave with a bitter feeling dealing the David Rendon the pre-owned cars manager. 5 stars to everyone else, 2 stars for poor management! Sales: Bought a GLI from Steve K over there a few months ago, he was great to deal with all around, you could hardly tell he was a car salesman. The guys behind the black curtains crunching the numbers were willing to make a deal and offered a fair deal from the get-go and worked with me until we got to a number I could agree to. Service: Had some small fixes that were agreed to prior to fixing along with a few other nuances that had to be taken care of. Service team communicated well throughout the process and while everything hasn't been completely fixed yet, it's been a great experience so far. While it was a pain to get to all the way from Chicago, I'm glad I ended up here. Great people to deal with all around. Will give them a shot at my business again in the in the future when we need a new SUV. read more

I purchased a used VW Routan from this outfit a year ago. It was a lemon when they sold it to me and it's a lemon now. After pulling hair trying to get some of the MANY issues with this vehicle corrected, we finally struck a balance. Wasn't near what I felt we deserved, knowing what all was wrong with it after we bought it from a third party mechanic. We recently took it in for a recall, after 2 weeks of them keeping it, they return it to me absolutely filthy. Grease stains all over my cars carpet floor, grease prints from hands all over my door and leather seat. The scuffs all around the ignition they installed. Just absolutely disgusted by this dealership. I recently purchased another car...a VW Passat, from a different dealer, I cringe every time I hear a muller commercial on the radio, because I know he's full of... Edit. They called back and offered to clean the mess they made of the interior of my car, great! I can amend this review and say all is well that ended well, they made it right...But, instead their service manager Givette/Javad? said this was the last thing they were doing for us because I left a bad review....It's like a kid taking his ball home because he doesn't want to play anymore. Not only that, when I asked to talk to him he ignored my fiancé while she was there, so I called their office and surprise surprise, I got voicemail after voicemail of this guy. So Givette/Javed I'll tell you right here. You didn't do a thing for me, other than make me realize when I bought my new Passat last week that I wouldn't get it from you guys. I've always been skeptical of Muller dealerships because their ads promise only that "You won't be disappointed." (In case you don't know, that's the tag at the end of all Muller dealership commercials.) Who wants to be just "not disappointed" with their purchase - especially one as significant as a car? I don't know about you, but I want to BE satisfied. And I'm not! Muller Subaru and Muller Volkswagen appear to be separate businesses on opposite sides of the lot, but they are as connected as Siamese twins conjoined at the neck with one head. That's not a big deal, but you might like to know it. I narrowed down my search for a used car to a few possible Volkswagen models and a specific Subaru that was listed on-line. According to Car Gurus, it was listed over six weeks ago. Within a few minutes of arriving, I got the impression that their top, overwhelming priority is new car sales, and used cars barely even rate. A quick rough count of about 45 used cars and around 300 new ones reinforced that impression. I walked around for over an hour, virtually ignored by everyone else. One employee held a door for me as I entered the Volkswagen building at the same time as him and another waited inside for me before he exited. The one who held the door asked how I was doin', in that standard, formal tone - the one that's polite but really not interested in talkin' with ya'. Another seemed to growl "excuse me" as he passed, apparently going back outside to a customer with whom he was working. By looking at some new car models, I ruled out two Volkswagen models that I was considering, and lowered my prioritization of the third. I also confirmed my thoughts about some Subaru models. I couldn't find the one that I came to see, so I went in the Subaru building. The receptionist greeted me, but then decided it was more important to answer the phone than talk with me approaching her desk. I walked around a couple cars in the showroom and was about to go to some people at the other end of the building when I saw an employee sitting at a desk and watching me. He greeted me, but did not get up. I walked over and told him the year and model of the car in which I was interested, and he invited me to sit down. He checked his computer and said they didn't have one of those. I said I had just seen it on-line; he asked how many days ago; and I told him hours. I offered the VIN and he said he needed the stock number. Fortunately, I had it, too. He entered that on his computer; called someone; then said it was a new arrival and not ready to be shown. He didn't offer to show me anything else - I had to ask if he had anything comparable. Even after I told him the particular type of car I wanted and why, he continued to suggest ones that didn't match my criteria or were above my price range. Finally, he asked me to wait a minute and he walked over to the Volkswagen building. When he came back almost ten minutes later, he told me that the car had been sent out to be detailed. He never offered to call me when it came back. Now that I think about it, he asked how I determined my price, and I told him it was what I could afford in cash. His already minimal interest seemed to diminish even more, and I was surprised he didn't start trying to qualify me for financing. I never bothered to confront him about the inconsistency between the car having been listed on-line for over six weeks; versus him saying that it was new and just sent out to be detailed. It's not his fault if someone lied to him, but I have to wonder about how management treats their employees if he can't even see on his computer when they received the vehicle, and if they did lie to him about the status. And what does that say about how they treat their customers? And if it really was just sent for detailing, why did it take 'em over six weeks to do so? Perhaps I was treated this way because I was wearing blue jeans, nice ones - not faded, a polo shirt, and sneakers; and have long hair and a beard. I wonder if they would have treated me differently if they had noticed the $50,000 SUV in which I drove up. I will NOT check back to see when the car comes back from detailing, nor will I bother with following any other cars at ANY Muller dealership... I doubt that I'll find any rare gems of a deal that'll make me wanna' make an exception. They've lost their credibility with me, and in this case, it isn't just this dealership, but the entire Muller "family" of dealerships. read more
