Online information stated that 95% of HPV cases are males. Later on the practice changed its policy so that men also have to sign. I also objected to being called in for bite wing xays. This was because I had oral surgery and had been told not to use bite wings until the wound healed. When I told Dr.Katz about my concerns regarding all this, he argued with me. The next day I was told to go somewhere else. The practice claims it strives to always do better. But as soon as I complained, I was shown the door.

I saw Dmitri Sokol for a consultation. During that visit, he took photographs with his camera and…read moreshowed me images he claimed were of my teeth. The images showed black lines on top of the teeth, a food pocket along the gumline, and a leaking silver filling on one tooth. I was immediately alarmed because I spend a significant amount of time and energy on my dental hygiene. These images did not match what I expected to see given how carefully I care for my teeth. Based on these images, he told me that the leaking silver filling indicated a cavity underneath and that I could lose my tooth if I did not have it replaced. I agreed to have the silver filling on my tooth replaced. Even though he had an x-ray, once he began drilling, he told me he had discovered a "crack" in the tooth. He then proceeded to perform a partial crown (onlay) instead of replacing the filling--which is what I agreed to. I walked in expecting a simple filling replacement. I walked out with a $2,138 partial crown that I never consented to. The black lines and food pocket he had shown me during the first visit were never mentioned again. Instead, he recommended that I get two crowns on two other teeth. I requested copies of the specific images he showed me during that first visit--the leaking silver filling, the black lines on top of the teeth, and the food pocket along the gumline. His office sent me other photos, but not those. When I asked again, they stopped responding. Given that they refused to provide these images, I have no way of knowing if the silver filling was actually leaking. I believe it was not. If it had been, they would have sent me the picture. I then saw another dentist for a second opinion. That dentist confirmed there are no black lines on my teeth. There is no food pocket. Based on the x-ray, there was no evidence indicating that the silver filling had leaked. Regarding the alleged crack discovered during drilling, the second dentist told me this was highly unlikely given that Dmitri Sokol had an x-ray of the tooth before starting the procedure. A crack large enough to require changing the procedure from a simple filling replacement to a partial crown should have been detectable with proper diagnostic tools. The two crowns he recommended were also not needed. The images Dmitri Sokol showed me were not of my teeth. They were used to create fear and urgency to justify work that was not needed. I am sharing this to warn others: get a second opinion before agreeing to any procedure recommended by this office.

I did not have a dentist of my own, based on terrible past experiences. I was left with dental anxiety. Dr. Konz and I interviewed each other, where we both asked each other dozens of questions. She began to make me feel at ease. Given my past history, she really took baby steps with me, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. I have been seeing her since November, 2023 to correct a very neglected mouth. She has the vision and foresight to know how to correct my problems (crossbite and multiple broken teeth). She has an extensive range of professional colleagues for referrals, if needed (orthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons). My last appointment was a long 6 hours in the chair, and much of that time was spent laughing and sharing stories. (Who laughs and jokes while in the chair at the dentist?! Me, now that' I've found this fantastic woman!) Not only that, but her own professional staff is also second to no one. They are absolutely fantastic. From scheduling, referrals, chairside manner, billing, and KINDNESS, they are on their game. I feel so blessed to have found such a talented, caring, and professional team. Thank you for everything so far, thank you for your vision in the treatments to come, and thank you for educating me on the benefits and importance of complete oral health. Dr Konz provides a very relaxed atmosphere for both routine cleaning and more complex work (she did crowns, caps, and fillings, too, plus one emergency re-adhesion of a crown that came loose). Her hygienist team is always friendly, appropriately admonishing, and when they discovered an issue, as discreet as possible until Dr Konz confirmed their suspicions. I miss that office. Great work.

And yet,.. here is one more star/medal/prize: I came to Dr. Cooper for consultation about my old failing/failed implants. He took an X-Ray, then did a CT scan, shared his findings with recommendations, and gave me a referral to the oral surgeon/implantologist. How much do they usually charge you for a consultation + X-Ray + CT scan? I know the answer, been there, done that, and your answer is wrong: Dr. Cooper charged me $0,.. Nothing! Can you believe that? I don't want people to print this review and show it to him, "You charged this guy $0, and I want the same price", but I just can't help yelling from the roof of the world's tallest tower, "This Doctor/Dentist must be from another planet where humanity, kindness, compassion, and decency still exists!" And, of course, his staff is always "top notch", and I suspect that the staff usually mimic the doctor, and I learned that in my long life spanning apx. 3 generations. The couple that owns the business are absolutely amazing and care so much about doing what is right for you and making you comfortable while doing it. I had a tooth break and they made an emergency appointment and allowed me to come in the next day which was a Saturday - even though they were closed all weekend. The front desk staff is so welcoming and kind. The assistants are super friendly and make you feel comfortable while you wait. They would tell me that the Maryland Bridge is outdated. Nobody uses that technology anymore, everybody uses implants now . The west coast is ALL about implants. They'll try to tap into your insecurities to persuade you into changing your mind. It's truly surprising how relentless they are. My bridge came out and no one would offer a solution to what I wanted. It was ALL about what they wanted and how they felt about it. It doesn't matter if I go to Beverly Hills, Encino, Venice, the valley, 5 star ratings and reviews, THEY ALL SUCK! Almost $1000 later, a tore up mouth from the new "stay plate" (that didn't stay in my mouth) made by another new dentist, feeling discourage, upset, and mad over every LA dentists pushing implants that would cost me 10k. I got on a plane from LAX and came here to finally get my teeth fixed by professionals!! I can't thank Dr. Michelle Singapori enough for fixing my HUGE problem! I was out of my network for health insurance but they made it really affordable for me. I couldn't in my right mind allow him to proceed with the appointment. When I saw the charge, I called to respectfully ask to reverse the charge and the dentist quite literally was yelling at me on the phone saying "I was going to do you a courtesy of walking out because of your circumstances BUT then I saw your review... f*** around and find out". I was appalled. This man was absolutely unhinged on the phone and accused me of things that never happened. He then began to insult me as a mother and accuse me of leaving my children unattended when, that never happened, and that was never something that I planned on happening. Ever. The "conversation" would continue to be him speaking aggressively and saying that he will not reverse the $50 charge. Throughout this conversation, my asks were very simple: please add clear communication to new patients and on your website that kids are not allowed in the office and second to please reverse the charge. That is it. Ultimately, it was an absolutely horrific experience and I write this to make others aware that if you attend or plan to attend this dentist office, please do so CAREFULLY.
