every visit and every person is always so rude and condescending. a perfect example of how not to treat you patients.

My personal grievance is with Nurse Practitioner William Gurley. He is a competent provider but a zero-tolerance doctor when it comes to prescribing benzos. He very reluctantly prescribed me a month's supply of Xanax and when I came to pick up the script at the pharmacy two days later, found that he or the office had called to cancel it. I recognize that many patients abuse controlled substances and no doubt Grayson & Associates has run across its fair share of patients who fall into that category. However, without informing me and allowing me to explain my circumstances, my script was abruptly nixed. In reality, and had Mr. Gurley bothered to reach out and ask me, I would have informed him that I had been earlier prescribed 45 1 mg Ativan pills by my previous psychiatrist with the option of taking up to 3 per day as needed. Which I did. I had a rough month with many panic attacks. Within 15 days I was out, though the prescription had been filled on April 8, 1 day before I tried to fill Gurley's Xanax script. I also was prescribed Restoril (Temazepam) for sleep, which is a benzo as well, yes, but I ceased to take it after three days because I found it did absolutely nothing for me. Fifteen years ago it was very effective, but no longer. What I would underscore to Mr. Gurley and all providers is that I have been on lots of medication for 30 years and as a result have developed a strong tolerance to many of them. I was classified as an abuser of my meds when I simply ceased to take them because they didn't work anymore. Jumping to conclusions isn't fair and does no one any good. Don't make assumptions that all patients are out to misuse their medications. As the saying goes, that ain't necessarily so. And for God's sake, have the decency to speak to me face to face next time, Mr. Gurley. read more

Today I saw a new clinician at Grayson and can agree with the other reviews about my previous office. Dr. McClure's office was horrible and staff were rude. I tried to change my clinician months ago but could not get a return call. Finally, I went to the new office in Anniston and made my own appt. The staff were kind and helpful and got me in with Gabbie Arrington. Would definitely recommend finding an office that fits for you. read more

I have been a patient at Greyson & Associates for the last 20 years. A few months ago my Dr was forced to retire due to illness. He was an Excellent Dr. Treated me like a real person. Listened to Everything; said. Worked with me on medication management. He was very kind, compassionate, very helpful with any issues I had and helped me to resolve any issues I had. Always returned my calls the same day. The staff of receptionist has always been really horrible, rude, dismissive, and just plain mean. I'm not an idiot. I have 3 college degrees, NREMT-P, Trauma RN, and a BSW in Social Work. The lady at the desk never passes on the opportunity to harass me. She won't accept my Co-Pay. Telling me that I don't have a referral, saying I owe $200. Bucks among other problems. I tell her every time that everything is in order. She wants me to call my PCD office and BCBS office every time. Which i.did the first 2 times that I went to the office. I won't do that again. Everything that she insisted was a problem was Her fault. I have decided that when I go back I will refuse to be treated by her attitude. I'm gonna be very honest and let her know just how Unprofessional she is and that I believe she just lives to hassle ppl and I have decided to not accept that from her ever again. She lies to me every times making herself sound so innocent. Honestly I don't think she is intelligent enough to do the job. She is basically an idiot and tries to blame it on everyone except herself. I'm done with her, sick of her attitude and I do Not have to accept her hateful attitude any longer. I gave her the benefit of doubt the first two times I was there now I know exactly where the problem lies. Get ready little lady cuz I'm loaded with some lip for you next time I'm there. You know exactly who I am. You should be ready to be a professional next time or I will be loud enough that everyone in the waiting room will hear just how incompetent, rude, hateful you are and I will let them know what you are lying about that day. This is what you get when you treat ppl badly. I kept coming there for 20 years bc my Dr was just Amazing. Well he is gone now. There is no reason for me to come that far to see the Dr that I have been given there. It is not impressive to say the least. These next few months are gonna be difficult bc I've got to find a new Dr. That scares the BeeGeeBies out of me bc they can mess you up in a hurry. Gotta be done. read more

I was reminded today, my teenaged daughter's birthday, how awful Grayson and Assoc. were and how badly they treated us. Their 'no-reply' email robot sent my daughter a birthday message today. Happy Birthday! What!??! A "birthday" message from GRAYSON? The office staff were lazy, rude, and did not give a darn about us. Counselor late all the time. They even charged us once when he was 30 minutes late and I had to get back to work so we left, and then refused to comp the charge. But if we were 10 minutes late it was, "sorry, we have to reschedule" even if i called to say we are on our way. They probably didn't get the message any way because they never answer the phone or check voicemail timely. The counselor she saw chose not to inform me that she wasn't receiving counseling but only "check-ins" for medication prescription. For almost an ENTIRE YEAR, I thought I was paying for counseling, e.g., a person she could learn from, talk with, and obtain strategies for handling her challenges. I found out -- completely by accident, not because they volunteered the info -- that this "counselor" was merely a prescription medication check-in and that no talk therapy, CBT, strategizing, or anything vaguely related to "therapy" for two exacerbating diagnoses was being conducted. Say WHAT??? Mama's time wasted, whatever. Mama's money down the drain, chalk it up to a learning experience. But Mama's teenaged daughter taken advantage of? Her health not taken seriously? Zero progress made on her behalf when she was having a hard time on several levels and suffering unecessarily for nearly an entire year? They led me to believe she was undergoing actual therapy when all the counselor was doing was asking how she feels and approving continuing the medication with NO therapy. Holy Mother of God. You can put me through anything. I am an adult. BUT GRAYSON PUT MY CHILD AT RISK AND DELAYED HER THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT AND HEALING, and I will never forgive them for that. Sorry, but my Christian values do not apply to people who harm my child. Sorry, not sorry. Don't even think about working with them. RUN AWAY LIKE YOUR HAIR IS ON FIRE. read more

Have been here many times now, the services are decent but there are a few that are usually running late. Front counter staff is helpful and get you away from their station pretty quick. They do have many doctors on staff, my doc is pretty quick and always on time. My daughter take a bit longer. I have never been big into medicine, and thought I never needed anything. Well the folks here have changed my mind for the good. There is nothing like regaining your concentration and being efficient. I would recommend this company, but make sure you bring your patience as it may be needed.... read more

My situation is so simple, I'm shocked that it turned into what it has. In June, I requested 2 refills on pretty regular medication of mine. My clinician at Grayson & Associates says just call if you need a refill, so I do. After pleading with them for days to refill the medication, they call it into the wrong pharmacy about 45 minutes away from me. Despite my countless calls and emails telling them where to call it in. They neglect to fill the second, with no reason at all. No call or response whatsoever. I keep trying all through July and August. No response. This is medication for occasional panic attacks, so I deem it necessary to have on hand. Finally, someone reaches out to me saying I need to schedule an appointment and that might be why they aren't refilling the medicine. So I do schedule one for Oct 1. Still no response on the medication that I do need very badly. On Sept. 10, a lady calls me saying they have a telemed cancellation for Sept 11, yesterday, and she could get me in on that. So she cancels my Oct appointment and puts me on that. I moved around my whole day yesterday to take the telemed call. THEY NEVER CALL. What do they expect me to do here? They won't see me. They won't refill my medication. It is absolutely absurd that this is so hard. They act like I am asking for hard drugs! It is ridiculous! For a place that's supposed to help mental health, they are a total disgrace. PLEASE NEVER GO THERE. read more

The Doctors at the Galleria location are great. The receptionist LaKisha/LaShonda (Friday 3/18 3:25 pm.)was absolutely rude and condescending. She has NO business working with people. I asked to speak to her manager and was put straight into voice mail. I called back and was put on eternal hold. The third time, someone else answered the phone and I said I would hold for the Manager and finally got some help. read more

I was on clonazepam for 28 year from 6 different docs . I was cut off bc They were afraid to write the drug . I was detoxd off the drug in 28 days( should have Taken at least 6 months bc I had been on it almost 30 years. led to me almost hurting myself and having agitation, I try to call to see if I can get help and my psychiatrist had quit and they sent me to another Grayson psychiatrist (after I kept calling bc no one would answer the first few times) this time I get put on two drugs with black box warnings. I am only on .5 a day a very small dose. The Doctors hands are tied by this corporation. I take care of someone with advanced Alzheimer's and I can't help them anymore. Do not go here !!! I have got a different answer from the same person everytime I ask why this is happening, so they are liars as well . I took my drugs right. I was polite. I was not asking for too much by any stretch. Go anywhere else. For your own good. If this review was not enough, look at other Grayson reviews elsewhere. They are Horrible !!! It just a matter of time before someone has a fatal seizure or commits suicide. That are so afraid of liability they aren't going to give you anything that helps. I was willing to work with them and try these drugs but they mess me up so much more than the small amount of Clonazepam. I'm done with them. read more

I have heard and read so many things about Grayson and I know they get a bad rap. I have to say, you need to find the right person within Grayson. There are some AMAZING therapists with this group, but you just have to get to the one that fits you the best. The billing is the only area where we have had issues. If you get someone who isn't a good fit, ask around. There are some great ones with this group, you just have to find them because it is a large group. read more

I don't like Grayson & Associates much. I've heard it described as a 'mill', and I agree. Two doctors/nurse practitioners weren't very helpful or even harmful. In on office, there seems like 20 people in the waiting room. The staff doesn't know your name and doesn't ask how you're doing. The medical records are pretty slow, and there are many separate functions that make it more complicated. Wait times on the phone are usually long. read more

These locations (and I mean every location) are the worst in the mental health field. I had heard numerous people say how bad Grayson & Associates were but I never realized how bad they are until my daughter started seeing a therapist there. NO ONE ever answers the phone!!! God forbid you need to reschedule your appt for another time because you can hang it up. My daughter will be switching to a new practice once they have an opening. Absolutely terrible!
