Needed to change my dryer plug from a 3 prong to a 4 prong in my new home. Quoted price of the parts and a 69.99 fee for the trip, less than 5 miles. Repairman was unfriendly, and completed the job quickly then left. Charged the 69.99 plus the cost of the cord which was 40 bucks. Found out two days later he didn't hook the dryer back up, but left it unconnected. I'm a senior citizen and can't pull the dryer out and connect it. When I called to complain, they told me they would have had to charge me to hook it back up, and good luck getting what I got as cheap as I got from anywhere else. I wanted to use a small business, but I never will again. I called Sears and found out I could have had the same thing plus a guarantee for less, and they would have sent someone back out if they didn't hook it back up. read more

I have a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection warranty service on my Samsung range and they (or Samsung) called in Grayson Collin Appliance & A.C. to make the repairs/replacement parts. My experience with Grayson was that they were very unprofessional, from the appointment dispatcher to the technician that serviced my range. The technician did replace some control boards but was very unknowledgeable about the range and didn't test it properly after his work was complete. It appeared to me that his goal was just to get in and out as fast as possible. Also, the dispatcher was very rude and unaccommodating to me on the phone when setting up appointments. I do not wish to ever do business with them again. read more

my home warranty sent them to repair my dryer and fridge in September (it took a while for them to come) and was pleased for the technician to fix to repair both after he came back after a week when he got the parts (although I have to pay for the parts $270 since my home warranty does not pay for it). Technician had to come two more times since for my fridge. two weeks ago, we made another appointment for him to come on Nov 3 between 8AM to 1200 (luckily I was off that day otherwise you have to wait at home and wait for him to call you that morning for time). Tech did not show up at noon so I called the office and was told that tech told them he was not coming because he knew what was wrong with it and he was ordering the parts. Told the office why I never got a call from them and ruining my plans that morning waiting for him. Made another appointment for Nov 9 ( had to take another day off for that). He came and said that he is convince and recommending to the home warranty for a new fridge and I should hear from me home warranty the next day. I called the other day the and I was told to call my home warranty. Rude staff whoever is in that office. Home warranty told me that they haven't heard any tech report yet and have been trying to get the tech for a report. I called grayson office and they themselves have not heard of that report and telling me that they will get it asap. Been out of fridge for over 2 weeks and now my home warranty wants to make another claim and send another technician. Worse appliance repair office. Need to think 10 times before getting them to come to repair your appliance or your home warranty assigning them to repair. Hope y'all got the message. Awful.......worst service experience ever ranging from incompetent to rude. They took 5 weeks to repair a Freon leak, broke other things that needed to be repaired and left me with nothing fixed., and then tried to get me to pay for it. Had to contact someone else. read more

If I could give them no stars I would!! If you are dealing with Home Depot warranty and they recommend this company look elsewhere! We tried to get the top of our dishwasher replaced they came in the first week and said the part needed to be ordered ok no problem. Came back a week later to install but it was the wrong color the technician actually asked if I wanted the wrong color installed this man was very short and rude when I told him no he said that they person ordering the part messed up and a new one would be overnighted. I said I needed it done by Thursday he said no problem. Called and spoke to a lady who was also very short when we did not hear from them she said the part was on back order and pretty much said it was Home Depots problem not theirs. They would not recommend any alternatives and seemed "put out" they had to deal with a Home Depot customer!! Very unprofessional I'm glad it was a minor repair and nothing big cancelled business with them! read more

We got set up to use this company through our home warranty for our air conditioner repair. Our A/C went out last Wednesday, in the middle of summer. Our house is 94 degrees. They came out Thursday morning, around 9, spent 5 minutes took some parts and said that it wouldn't be fixed this weekend and left. That was it. I called them and they explained they had to order parts, yada yada yada, Monday morning, no parts ordered. Tuesday afternoon they FINALLY ordered the parts. Today, one week later, they called and said they will be be out Friday, that the parts were in. Why wait until Friday?! I can understand if you were a busy company, but you aren't, and current customers should come first, finish a job, then go on to the next. The customer service people are rude, one of them lied, I had to call my home warranty to sort it out and prove they were lying. I could go on and on. Overall, this is just a bad company, rude and could care less about their customers. Fingers crossed they actually fix our problem. read more

Too bad there isn't a zero star option. I have already made a formal Better Business Bureau complaint against this company, but I realize many people read online reviews so here I am. LONG story short as possible...We have a home warranty, so we had no choice as to the company who came to "fix" our A/C unit. Called 3/29. First serviceman from this company came 4/6 & seemed like he knew what he was doing. He fixed some wiring and noticed we are out of freon so definitely a leak. He injected dye into the system and said someone would come back out to use a black light to locate the the leak. 4/9 an evaporator coil was ordered. Timing of this is weird since it wasn't until a week later when Ed (owner of the co) arrives, goes into attic, comes back stating the upstairs unit needs a new evaporator coil. CGAC tells the home warranty co the job will be complete by 4/30. But, darn, those parts are ALWAYS back ordered. So, 5/13, after heat from us and the warranty co, the part finally arrives and Ed is back. He goes into attic, comes back and asks, "Are you sure that is the unit for upstairs?" WHAT??! He stated, "We have a problem. I just replaced a perfectly good evaporator. I'll have to order the part for the other unit." He had replaced the evaporator on the wrong unit. Ed was quickly reminded that HE was the one who stated that was the unit for upstairs and that it needed an evaporator coil. We are not technicians nor do we supervise those who are technicians. He was asked if he had looked for a leak on his last visit when he had determined a coil was needed. He answered, "No. I never do that." He tried blaming the first serviceman and even said, "You know if you paid cash, it would take a week. But, since you go through a home warranty, it takes a month." Seriously?? Our warranty co verified that this isn't true information. GCAC is responsible for all ordering of parts. There is no extra time needed. Ed left knowing we were very upset. The next day his office calls to state Ed had been bitten by a brown recluse at our house and is refusing to return until we spray for spiders. Seriously?? I wish you all could see our attic. It is basically a room which could be easily converted. It's flvery well lit and extremely roomy. I have seen one or two spiders in this house and neither was a brown recluse. His staff said, "He was told by his doctor to rush to the hospital. You know those things can be deadly?" Oh my goodness. Don't make me laugh. People do NOT die from those spiders. Bites can become infected and need lancing, but, oh man I am off subject! Ed didn't mention this bite before he left AND he left the panel open to the attic which is in my daughter's closet. Anyway, I find it highly unlikely he was bit in our house. He knew how dissatisfied we were with his "service." It is extremely sad that I think so low of this company that my first reaction was to assume he was lying about the bite. We would not have let Ed return anyway. He is incompetent and now we have realized he lies. The new, and much improved, serviceman from another company came the day after I called. They immediately diagnosed the problem AND pointed out that the evaporator is missing from the unit! Ed had, for some reason, taken the evaporator with him. AND to make matters worse, the two units in the attic are the SAME EXACT unit therefore the parts are interchangeable. No new part would have been needed. However, the unit isn't even able to be repaired. It needs replacement. Which is what is happening now. And this company diagnosed the problem, sat on my stairs & called the home warranty co, explained the problem, received authorization for ordering a new unit, ordered a new unit, communicated everything with us, showed professionalism & respect, and left all within an hour. I highly recommend you do NOT use GCAC. There are much better options out there....Thompson Heat and Air is one of those MUCH better options. Thank you. read more

We were originally scheduled for warranty repair on our Dishwasher by Home Depot with Grayson Collin Appliances. They came out diagnosed the problem, ordered parts, parts came in a week later. The repairman broke two more parts while trying to install the originally broken part. He removed the dishwasher door and the washer from the cabinet and disconnected it from the granite. He left it sitting all crooked in the cabinet. Parts arrived a week later, he came out and again had problems installing the parts. My husband had to retrieve screws from his shop to help do the install. The Grayson guy was so frustrated and my husband had to make suggestions on how to install the parts. After much frustration, he took my husband's advice and was successful installing the parts. He left us by saying, that is all I can do, you are going to still have problems until Home Depot comes out and levels the dishwasher. The door will not close and the washer will not run. He told us we would have to "fiddle" with it and we might get it to work. This was the original repair issue. Home Depot refuses to send anyone else out and Grayson Collin refused to return, because they feel they cannot do anything else. They did agree to return one more time, but NO SHOWED on us. We have taken off work 4 times and our dishwasher is still not working and the door will not close. Grayson Collin lied to us and is continuing to lie to Home Depot. Because of Home Depot's policy, they already paid Grayson, H.D. will not call a different company. I intend to write a scathing review for Home Depot too. But these Grayson people do not know what they are doing, and the people in their office are unsympathetic. These guys are absolutely TERRIBLE!!!! The repair technician who was supposed to be there on a Friday called in sick on Thursday (a day ahead of time! Who does that??), so Grayson County Appliance had to reschedule it for Monday. He came out to fix my dishwasher and told me the electric line wasn't long enough to pull the dishwasher out to find out where the leak is. I told him that it was installed by them but I had extra materials to make the line longer. I would go get them out of my shop and I'd be right back. When I went down to get the materials, the repair man grabbed his stuff and ran to his truck and drove off!!!!! When I called Grayson County Appliance, they told me that I was out of code and it was against state law how the dishwasher was installed. When I told her it WAS THEM who installed it, she started to stumble and fumble around on the phone and said a supervisor would have to call me back which no one ever did. DO NOT use this nightmare of a company. I own a business and for me to write a bad review means that it must have been a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! read more
