My ice maker quit working recently. As I'd *just* bought a brand new dishwasher that was soon to be installed, I didn't relish the idea of buying a new fridge if I didn't have to. I called a couple of local companies for help, but Zoom stood out. Heather called me back right away and was able to get me a time for the next day (this was very late in the day when I spoke with her). I was pleasantly surprised at such a quick appointment! Knowledgeable, and just straight up no BS. They fixed our washing machine that we had a front seal issue for some time. Previously the factory service people would just replace the rubber seal. The seal was not the issue, it was the latch, and it had failed and was allowing enough play in the door seal to leak. The tech show me and explained what was happening. Tommy was awesome! I had done my research on my problem was, and so I was prepared to talk shop, just in case. He diagnosed the reason our oven/range would not turn on and fixed it in about 10 minutes. I asked if it was the thermal fuse, and he didn't hesitate to confirm that was the issue, and charge a reasonable price. He also explained to me the risks of using the self clean on my particular LG oven/range, so as to help me prevent this from happening again in the future. Zoom really zoomed to my rescue! My LG washer was malfunctioning so I called Zoom! The service was quickly scheduled for my convenience and they were right on time! I asked them to just check the hose on my dryer too and they discovered TONS of built up lint in the hosing where the air vents outside and quickly cleaned that out too! You deal directly with Zoom, no "lists" middlemen. My GE Dishwater died on me and these were the first ones with an email with their name in it. All I can say is "Lucky Me!". They had the diagnostic equipment to identify the problem and what it would cost to fix it. Next day they were back with the parts and had it up and running in less than an hour. It's worth noting that this dishwasher was installed as part of my pre- closing move in repairs list. In my opinion, the people who installed it didn't do a very good job. After Zoom had left, I noticed that they had corrected (but not requested by me!) all of the initial installation shortcuts. You can't go wrong with these folks. read more

If you're looking for a company that will respond promptly, be honest with you, save you money and stand behind their work, then call Tommy at Zoom Appliance Repair. When Tommy came out to repair our freezer he identified two potential problems. At Tommy's recommendation we decided to replace one part and see if that corrected all of the problems, as the second part was more expensive. That next morning the freezer again wasn't getting as cold as it should. I called the office and Tommy quickly came back out and replaced the second part, which solved the problem. He also stood behind his work and word, only charging me for the part on the second visit. He could have easily sold me on replacing both parts on the first visit, but he was honest and tried to save me money by avoiding needless repairs. Tommy arrived on schedule and was very thorough when going over the issue. It turned out to be a very minor problem, and he didn't try it overdo what needed fixing to make extra money -- like so many contractors do. He was also very contentious about water escaping when checking the washing machine for the leak. He cleaned up after himself (which I cannot say I have ever seen any other repair service do). He was clean, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, I cannot say enough good things! I have already saved Zoom Appliance Repair in my phone and don't plan on using anyone else. read more

From scheduling the appointment, to picking up my ice maker, this was a great experience. I had taken my ice maker to someone else before I discovered Zoom and they had no idea what was wrong. I found Zoom online and made an appointment to drop it off. Tommy found the issue very quickly and called with a fair quote. After repair I brought ice maker home and fired it up. My fridge stopped freezing over the weekend and I started calling Appliance Repair companies that had good online reviews. Top of the list was Zoom, so I called and got voicemail. It was Sunday morning, so not unexpected. I received a call back shortly (1st positive customer experience) from Heather and explained the symptoms and fridge model. She then explained that there had been a lawsuit recently with LG and that I might save monies if this particular LG fridge was under the extended coverage that resulted from the lawsuit. She didn't have to tell me this...she could have set up an appointment and had her tech do the service and get paid hundreds of dollars for the parts and labor. But she did (2d positive customer experience). I then contacted LG who did confirm that the parts would be covered, but not the labor. LG allowed me to pick an authorized LG service provider, so I picked Zoom. I called Heather back and we set up a service call for the following morning. The tech, Tommy (also the owner), arrived punctually and wearing a mask/gloves to protect both of us in this COVID-19 environment we currently find ourselves in. He inspected the fridge and we discussed options - he was very good about setting expectations; because he would need to get the part from LG (in this particular case because of the lawsuit warranty coverage), and that it would depend greatly on how soon LG responded and shipped one out. By this time, the Fridge was operational (the issue was intermittent) and the situation was not dire, but I appreciated that he took the time to have a conversation, answer any questions and set expectations as to when he could get this resolved (3d positive customer experience). As he prepared to leave for his next service call, an LG tech arrived for a service call that LG had not cancelled when I was communicating with them via chat the day prior. The LG tech had the part needed, but I was ready to dismiss him since I had already engaged with Zoom/Tommy. Tommy intervened and said that if the LG tech had the part and could resolve the issue, then do so, because "taking care of the customer is the most important thing." (4th positive customer experience). I still hesitated, but Tommy assured me it was fine and even communicated with the LG tech for a bit in a friendly conversation about firmware updates and cabling needed for LG brand fridges; they exchanged business cards as well. Tommy left for his next service call, and the LG tech repaired the fridge. Later that evening, Tommy called me - unsolicited - to follow up and ensure the Fridge was operational. It was, and I appreciated his "taking care of the customer" approach. He then told me to take a vacuum hose/wand and suck up any dust and debris around the coils and condenser in the back to help prolong the life of the unit. Again, I appreciated his providing maintenance guidance even for a service call that his company received zero revenue (5th positive customer experience). I would use Tommy/Zoom again for any of my appliances, and heartfully recommend them to anyone requiring service. read more
