ordered a new ice maker with sound barrier to be installed. The installation crew came. -- installed it without the sound barrier -- it had a significant rattle It took a week for the "service" department to come out - they fixed the rattling, but shut it off because the installers left it with a leak under the unit 10 days later, the installation department was scheduled to come back out to fix the leak and install the sound barrier - installer came, late. but he showed up and fixed the unit (fingers crossed) techs are very nice, but don't expect things to be fixed quickly read more

I have used CW for years with both my Ice maker and my Zip system. Appointments are easy to make online, communication is great before and after service and the techs are amazing. Austin and Dakota have both been out for service and always get everything up and running with expert service. C&W Services has provided excellent service for our Sub Zero refrig for several years, but you probably know how service across many industries has deteriorated in the last few years. So we were concerned this time around, but we quickly discovered there was no need. C&W's James was a winner. He was professional and personal for sure. He also clearly explained the issues with our ice maker and a problem with lighting, what he needed to do, and our options. Even though we were the last customer late Friday afternoon, James was patient and thorough, answering all our questions. I speak on the subject of branding and how it's more than a logo, pointing out that a brand is really a series of stories. Customer experiences. My James story is brief yet revealing. After replacing the defective ice maker and solving the lighting problem, he said he was confident everything would be fine, adding "You have my personal cell phone number. Don't hesitate to call me over the weekend if you have a problem." We didn't have to call, but you can add one name to your Brand Ambassador list, if you have one! read more

We have had issues with our $5,000 Scotsman ice maker from day one, and unfortunately, C&W Appliance Repair has made our situation even worse. When our unit was first installed, the water drain line was not connected correctly, causing it to constantly try to drain water. That issue was eventually fixed, but within 6-9 months, the cleaning light came on. We didn't address it immediately due to the holidays, but shortly by the time we called C&W, the unit was already completely dead. C&W came out for the warranty repair but couldn't fix it onsite, so they took it to their shop. Later ( over 2 months later), we received a call saying that the manufacturer wouldn't honor the warranty due to improper cleaning supplies being used--which is entirely false. We never cleaned the unit at all because it wouldn't even run a cleaning cycle. The C&W technician who came to our home experienced the exact same issue and couldn't get it cycled through. The ice maker has now been in their possession for nearly 2 months, and they finally got a call on 2/14/25 that they had finally looked at it. C&W is now claiming we used the wrong cleaning solution when, in reality, we used the exact Scotsman solution recommended by the manufacturer--and again, the cleaning cycle never actually ran because the unit was already dead. Since they had not touched the machine since it had been in their possession, whatever damage had been done had happened with it being in their possession. I'm sure they will keep it as long as they can to run out the warranty. Their excuse feels like a blatant attempt to dodge warranty coverage rather than taking responsibility for fixing the issue. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience, and we would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with C&W Appliance Repair. read more

We have used C & W for 8 years. We live in a rural area so getting repair or maintenance is not always easy. We have C & W come once a year to service all of our appliances. C & W has always sent out professional and competent repairmen. Our last repair was for our SubZero freezer. Drew was here for 4 hours and pretty much took the freezer apart before he could replace several parts. He was diligent and quite competent. Grant did a great job repairing our Cove dishwasher. He showed up on time, wore booties inside the house, and cleaned up well after the work was done. He diagnosed the problem pretty quickly, had the right part in the truck, and got the dishwasher running with no problems. The service was always great and therefore, updating to 5 stars since my only issue was quickly resolved and my Wolf range is back in working order. Thanks, Ben! The technician and his trainee seemed great. Very friendly and efficient, hence the three stars. My problem is that upon setting the appointment, I was told there was a service call fee off $169.95 but that if I chose to go ahead with service, it would be credited towards my balance. This was not the case. What made matters worse is that this was the second appointment. They waited until well after the window of the first appointment only to call and reschedule. I scheduled annual cleaning and found out a part was going bad. Waited over 2 weeks for the part to become available. schedule the install after the part arrived. four days later, my icemaker was not working. $600 gone I called again to schedule a service appointment and had to wait yet another week. I was told everything was fine. The icemaker started working again for 10 whole days. I'll be calling someone else. What makes it worse if you have to hold the entire day for the company to tell you the morning of which time frame they will be arriving at. read more

I was blown away that there exists a company that really makes those things a priority. Jacob was the technician who showed up on my doorstep (right on time, too!) to fix a problem that I was having with my Wolf gas range. Jacob saw that I had a no-shoes-in-the -house policy and without any prompting from me, put on protective shoe coverings before stepping into my house. Use this company, they are really good. I had a sub zero frig/freezer and ice maker, a Miele oven and a Wolf stovetop that their tech serviced and repaired. He was so nice and asked me before entering my home if he should wear a mask, he wore shoe coverings the entire time inside my home and even brought a cover for the floor where he was working. I cannot say enough good things about the service and value I received by using C & W. I will not look anywhere else when my appliances need to be serviced again. I had no complaints and I am really the type to always find something to get aggravated over. read more

C&W Appliance was recommended to me by Great Plains Appliance Parts as the only Sub Zero and Wolf certified appliance repair in the DFW area. I thought that meant I was getting superior service, quality repairs, and to the standards of Sub Zero ... however, that is definitely not what I experienced. The C&W service technician came to our home and reviewed each of our appliances which included a Sub Zero Refrigerator, Sub Zero Freezer, Wolf Range, Sub Zero Wine Fridge, and Sub Zero Ice Maker. The technician was surprised that our Wolf Range did not need any repairs, since the other appliances needed repair. Our plumbers were there at the same time and had installed a drain pump for the ice maker. The technician reviewed the pump with the plumber and myself and stated that it would work well with the ice maker. When the technician looked at our ice maker, he said that all it needed was some cleaning. The technician advised doing a full cleaning of our ice making and that after the cleaning cycle, it needed to run all night long. The service call alone cost me hundreds of dollars. The next day we discovered a nightmare! When I returned to the house, we had a massive leak from the ice maker that had gone throughout the kitchen and down into our basement destroying sheetrock, oak flooring, baseboards, and basement flooring. All because C&W did not plug in the drain pump and water overflowed. When I called C&W to find out what happened, they admitted they never tested the pump, which was supposed to be part of the service. They said they didn't test it because there was no water source at the site. However, there were 4 sinks with running water, as well as a hose just outside of the kitchen for them to fill up a cup of water and test the pump. Also, if there was no running water, how could they run the ice maker or even think of recommending it run all night long??? Since then C&W has been ignoring my calls. Every time I call the owner has already left for the day, did not come in, or is on vacation. I have left numerous messages. The two times that I did speak to the owner, Mr. Thompson, he said he wanted to make this right ... but did not think they had any fault. The sad thing is that I still have appliances I would like them to fix, but they won't even call me back. I was hoping we could resolve this issue, but it seems they think it is ok to damage customer's property and then ignore and deny their role in the damage. Do not use C&W Appliance unless you want things to be worse than before they came to service your appliances. They are inept, incapable, and just all around bad people for the damage they have done and their negligence in this matter. The worst part is that they refuse to accept responsibility for their mistakes! Mistakes happen, but dodging phone calls and not returning multiple messages is cowardly. Save yourselves and call somebody else for your appliance repair. Zero Stars! read more

Between my wife and I we have called C&W 3 times for a status update on the repair of our Asko dishwasher. Each time, the receptionist told us that she would check with the parts department and get back to us. She hasn't called us back yet, it's been 5 weeks. Unfortunately C&W is the only certified repair company with Asko. Additionally, the tech told us it would take 2 weeks to get the part but not to worry because the dishwasher would drain without the necessary repair. Surprise, it doesn't drain so we have moldy stinky water in our kitchen and C&W hasn't even bother to call us to give us an update for over a month. read more

Was told I would receive a call between 8:15 and 9:00 with a 2 hour window of when the service tech would be here. Never received the call so I called them Around 9:15. I drive in from out of town to our place in the city, I don't have all day to wait around. The "girl" that answered the phone should NOT be in customer service of any kind. She was rude and condescending. She asked the tech that was standing there what time he could be here, he said between 11:00-1:00. I then said "I was under the impression the tech would be here first thing this morning." She said (in a condescending tone) "That IS morning". I said "not in my world. That's lunch time, middle of the day!" She continued to be rude and condescending I actually said, before I hung up, "you don't need to be rude!" She said "I'm not!" I said "YES, yes you are, very rude!" Then she tells me he says he could be here in 45 minutes, so I wait and hour and a half and he never shows... They charge $170 for a service call, never have the parts they need and then charge another $170 to come back out months later to install. I just had them fix my wine fridge a few months back and its already broke again... Will not use them again! They ARE other plenty of other people who work on Sub-Zero appliances in the DFW and surrounding areas. read more

I recently bought a house with a Sub Zero fridge and freezer. The unit is 20 years old and after 1 week, the refrigerator side stopped working. Ed, the repairman from C&W was very knowledgeable and professional. It was an expensive repair (over $1800) but the thing that stunned me was $590 for 2 hours of labor plus the 139.95 service call charge. Also, I was kind of surprised by the fact that the repair only carries a 1 year warranty. I would think that SZ would cover a compressor and evaporator for more than a year. At least the unit seems to be working ok now. read more

I've used C&W for many years. Just had them repair a SubZero wine unit this week - all of the sealed system had to be replaced. Parts were covered by SubZero. Labor was not... The C&W technician was on-time, friendly, professional, highly competent, and cleaned-up everything after he'd finished. I would have him return to my house anytime! Now, for the big issue (and this is not the technician's fault). This repair took 2.5 hours and C&W charged me $670 JUST FOR LABOR. That is a $268/hr labor rate!!! I spoke to the Owner, who was nice and polite, about this charge and his only answer was "this is the book rate that SubZero tells us to charge". He also said this specific repair can take 2 to 5 hours. Those might be true statements, but they are completely irrelevant to the customer and my specific job. I should pay a reasonable rate for the work performed. If my repair takes 2.5 hours, I should not be charged for a 5 hour standard rate! And, on top of this, I was charged another $160 + tax for the initial 20 minute service call to diagnose the issue (which the technician said would be credited against my total repair -- it was not). The Owner said he'd look at the ticket the next day and let me know if there should be an adjustment based on my actual job. That was 4 days ago and I've heard nothing. I just wanted any kind of reasonable justification for such an outrageous hourly rate and he has yet to provide me anything except "that is what we always charge". So, all I can tell you is that C&W does great work, but their pricing "policy" is completely unfair (and not justified) to the customer. C&W's profit margin on a labor rate of $268/hour is obscene. I can't think of a single instance where I've been treated so unfairly by any service provider. It won't happen again. read more
