We bought a Jeep Cherokee used there. I get buying a used vehicle. But you expect them to make it home and all before you start having issues. Eight different mechanics now and it still isn't working. I don't know how they rig them to get them off the lot, but they do. Also, was told there was another key and fob to it. They never found it nor did they offer to order me one. If you are considering buying a vehicle here go ahead and burn your money and skip them or give your money away. This involves a 2017 Maserati GranTurismo Sport (VIN: ZAM45VLAXH0214487) listed and negotiated through Grayson Hyundai Knoxville. After two full days of negotiation, we agreed on a purchase price. I chose to finance through my credit union, which approved the loan and issued a certified cashier's check directly from the financial institution, fully verifiable, with the VIN referenced. Once they learned I was using my own lender and was an out-of-state buyer, their position suddenly changed. I was told they would NOT accept a cashier's check and would only accept cash or wire transfer. I explained that I was not comfortable wiring funds or traveling with that amount of cash, especially with my 17-year-old son. The very next day, the dealership publicly lowered the price of the vehicle by $1,000 without contacting me, which I reasonably interpreted as their way of ending the deal. Based on their statements and actions, I believed the transaction was over. However, despite the owner publicly stating in their response that they were "unable to move forward with the transaction" and that they do not accept out-of-state cashier's checks, they nevertheless accepted the check and deposited it into their account. I was never notified by the dealership. I only discovered this because my bank contacted me and confirmed the check had been negotiated and applied. When I called the dealership, I was told I could come pick up the car. This directly contradicts the owner's public statement. To her credit, the office manager was professional, kind, and understanding. After speaking with her, I was honestly reconsidering completing the purchase and told her I would confirm the next morning. However, less than three minutes later, salesperson Donnie Hutchison -- whom we had already requested multiple times not to contact us -- texted my wife asking if we wanted the car because he was "working a deal on it right now." This was extremely alarming. At that point: * They had already deposited my certified cashier's check * The check referenced that exact VIN * I had been told I could pick up the vehicle Yet it was apparently being offered to another buyer at the same time. This entire 9-day experience was marked by contradictions, lack of communication, and extremely unprofessional handling of a serious financial transaction. I asked if there were more costs associated with it and she huffed, I started hearing music, 1.45 seconds later came on and said $155. BUYERS BEWARE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I financed a 2016 Chevy Colorado from this dealership on June 29, 2026, 14 days ago. At the time of purchase, there were no major issues nor were there any lights on the dashboard or codes but a few days later the car starting shifting rough. I took the truck into the Beaty Chevrolet service department located at 8729 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37923 United States to get the vehicle inspected. Turns out there were severe internal damages in the transmission which would call for a $6500 complete replacement. At the time time of the purchase I did buy an extended warranty through Phoenix Guard Warranty Company to cover any repairs needed done on the drivetrain of the vehicle but upon calling the warranty company to inquire about the coverage, I was denied due to the damages being pre-existing, meaning the dealership would've had to have known about this issue and failed to relay this information to the buyer, me. I also believe they had the lights and codes wiped off the dashboard prior to me buying the truck because there STILL aren't any lights indicating an issue with the truck. I brought this issue up with management at the Hyundai dealership but was told since the truck was marked "as-is" there was nothing they could do about it even though I spent the extra money on a warranty which would trump any "as-is" marking. I was also told, verbatim, "none of the cars that are traded in are inspected or diagnosed, we just clean them up, top them off, and put them on the lot for sale." by a salesman named Nick. I personally would not recommend Grayson. I bought a Brand new SUV and had some issues with the tires being out of balance. I had an appt and took it in and was told, I had 3 bad tires and that they would replace them. Was told to come back the following week. I went back and waited for 1 1/2 hrs and was told they didn't have in stock and would order them. I waited 7 weeks and called and spoke, with Ben the service rep and he told me, he didn't know if they had the tires, it was above his pay grade but, he would call me back. That didn't happen. We called the manager and was told the tires were not under warranty and someone should have told us that, even though our service paperwork showed under warranty. We were told they would contact the tire manufacturer and work something out. We called again to check that progress after 1 1/2 weeks, the manager will NOT return our call. This is the most unprofessional service dealership that I have ever seen. I contacted Twin City Hyundai dealership, took the SUV in and they said, there was no issue with the tires, they just needed balancing. We were on a road trip when my car engine suddenly stopped. We were stranded on the highway and the closest Hyundai dealership was Grayson Hyundai. Our car was towed in and we met with Cody, a service advisor. He spoke to a manager because we were from out of town and both had to be at work the next day-we needed our car. The manager agreed to have a mechanic look at the car, just to get us an idea of what we were looking at, time wise for diagnosis and repair. The mechanic came back shortly and said the engine seized and it would be a while before they could look at my car and make a game plan for repair/warranty work. We were in a bit of shock that this had happened, it had always very well taken care of and this was an important road trip. We asked if we could leave my car there for the weekend and come back on Monday, our next day off, to tow the car back with our truck. Cody said this would not be a problem and we returned on Monday. Fidel, Cody and Tommy were all very kind, professional and compassionate. There was no extra charge and my car was there in the same condition that we had left it on Wednesday. We have our car back home at our local Hyundai dealer now and are waiting to see what will happen. We wanted to thank Cody for being so understanding and helpful; Fidel who was professional and quick- knowing exactly what we wanted before we asked, and Tommy who took special care with the car pusher to not damage my car when we were loading her up on the dolly. The sales person, Greg Vittetoe, was very 'uninterested' in addressing my questions and concerns about the air conditioning having poor air flow, not very cold and making a noise. The generic answer I received was "we price our cars according to what's wrong with them". Wow. That absolutely told me nothing....other than to stay away from this dealership. This is what happened and I was told to contact you from the Corporate Hyundai Office. This email is regarding a 2014 Hydundai Tuscon I had purchased on 7/19/2022 at Grayson Hyundai- Subaru in Knoxille. I was assisted in the purchase of this vehicle by the salesman, I was told the vehicle was new to the lot and I had asked multiple questions knowing this. Later to find out less than 24 hrs into the purchase I was sold a faulty and unsafe vehicle that had an engine recall on it. The night of the purchase I drove out of the lot only to find out make break lights went out immediately...less than 100 yards. I returned and was told by the lead of sales to take it to Pep Boys or check the warranty. I drove into the service area where I was assisted. I drove home after less than 20 miles, before my engine started to fail and I stalled out on Cedar Bluff barely avoiding a wreck. The next morning I tried to drive to the dealership and the vehicle's engine blew. I was threatened to not tow it up there or I would have to pay a tow fee off their lot, and that I'd have to check warranty. I had the vehicle diagnosed by a Certified Mechanic telling me it was due to a recall less than 48 hrs. I went to Grayson Hyundai-Subaru the following Monday where I was refused a copy of my contract and warranty, and my salesman physically and aggressively approached me. None of the contracts I was given had any of my signatures on them. Before the time of the sale, the sales escorted my sister and I to the service area to speak to the lead mechanic where we were told the recalls had been fixed. He also signed off on the report saying it was fixed. As of now I've had no help trying to resolve this until yesterday. My income and credit was juiced and the paperwork isn't adding up. I was charged Two Thousand for a warranty that will be dropped due to this even though Hyundai is responsible due to a class action lawsuit. We have been lied to and I have witnesses. I've paid Ten Thousand dollars and I have a vehicle that exploded within 20 miles and 24 hrs. I was lied to about the 3 recalls being taken care of before I bought it and about an inspection being done, I filed a claim with Corporate, I will also be in contact with the BBB, Attorney General, Department of Motor Vehicle, and the news station consumer affairs. After a meeting yesterday we reviewed the consumer affairs act of 2015, as well as a recent recall act that was in place before this purchase, this is is not lemon law. Never in my life have I felt so helpless. This is supposed to be a reputable company. I've worked 70 hour weeks to save up for this only to be accosted, robbed, and given the run-around. I've called surrounding dealerships only to find that there is a 6 month waiting period ????? Grayson Hyundai is responsible for knowingly selling me a vehicle that had a recall and is now faulty in other aspects. it has depreciated the value and is unsafe. Like an idiot, I told them to tow it to the Hyundai dealership, mainly because in my addled mind I thought since it's brand new a dealer should fixit. That was August 21st.i just got my car back yesterday September 22nd, at 5pm. 32 days to repair under $3000 in damage. I don't know whether to be mad or confused. I took my car here to the body shop for repairs, but sadly I didn't expect to get my car back a month after and find out that it still wasn't correct. ON A PROBLEM I TOLD THEM ABOUT! I don't even know if they even checked or tried to diagnose the problem. When they hastily gave me the car back and then the person handling my car just up and left (it was closing time) it was in the back of my mind. When I tried to start the car: click. Did it 3 or 4 times and then my car finally started. Long story short, an animal ran into the side of my car, and I took it here for repairs. This dealership bought the parts one week, after market parts (AC condenser unit and radiator) and then found out later that oh, it doesn't fit my car....because it's a stick shift and they bought parts for an automatic car. HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT?! Especially if you're the dealership... So, fast forward when I call them again, because I want to know the status of my car, and they explain: Oh, we ordered the radiator part, and it fits to your car, but the condenser unit doesn't fit to the radiator. Really? Okay... So, they finally order it and my rental period is almost up. Month of work. My car just sitting there. Finally, they called me and said the car would be done by the end of the day. When 4 PM came around and I didn't get a call, I got a little antsy (they close at 5:30 PM). I call to make sure everything was still a go... The person responded yes. I leave and get there and wait as they finished the final steps. So I get in my car and turn the key... *click* *grinding noise* *whirrrr*..... umm okay. They didn't check the problem I told them about a month ago when they said they couldn't find it. Maybe it just didn't happen often enough. Got home... and... This Hyundai is completely understaffed. It is not the employees fault rather the management's fault. They have too many faulty cars they've sold coming in to be repaired but not enough service workers to take care of them. I took my car in for what I thought would be a simple fix, they told me it would take a week before they could find out what was wrong and to call them in 7 days. So I did that. I called them only to find out they hadn't looked at my car, and didn't remember that my car was even there. I left it there for another 8 days only for them to "not be able to replicate the problem" so I took my car back. Next day the problem happened. This review is based solely on professionalism. I had some issues with my car which Grayson Hyundai had diagnosed a few weeks ago. During that visit, I waited about an hour just to have them call my extended warranty company to approve repairs. The only reason I left after waiting for an hour was because I insisted I needed to leave. I was told to make an appointment to have my issues fixed once the parts they ordered came in. After said parts came in, I called to make an appointment. I was told over the phone that I could essentially pick what day/time I wanted as they had a lot of open spots. So I made one for 2 days later. However upon arriving 10 minutes early for my appointment, I was told they couldn't repair my car that day due to a backlog of cases from the holidays. You could imagine my extreme frustration. I had a trip planned and I had intended to take my car for that trip. In addition, I had just driven 45 minutes to make my appointment and I couldn't even get the courtesy of a phone call before I left to let me know my appointment could not be honored. And no, they couldn't fit me in the following day cause they had a full appointment book. Extremely odd that they would honor those appointments but just ignore mine. The straw that broke the camel's back is that the manager, Alex Ferrara, was extremely unapologetic and rude to my boyfriend. He didn't seem to care or pretend to listen to our frustrations and just wanted to get him off the phone. His behavior was appalling and disappointing. Customer service is certainly not an ideal of this dealership and the lack of empathy reeks from the top down. There is a Hyundai dealership on Alcoa that respects their customers more than these folks do. A place where making an appointment means something. A place where you get the courtesy of a phone call if that appointment strangely can't be honored. I don't recommend that you spend a single cent with these guys. My mom sent me here because my hyundai engine had previously failed, so she wanted to make hyundai do the oil change. They took almost 2 hours, and way overcharged me. They charged me for more than the items were worth and for more time than they spent. Yep. They spent 2 hours doing an oil change then charged me for 3+. They also charged stupid stuff like $45 to install an air filter!! It was $200+ for oil and an air filter. These people are soulless scumbags. While I was waiting it appeared to only be old people in the waiting room with me. This company is preying on people who do not know better. Do not come here. Report this company. read more

I had that car checked out by a few people and he just rolled with it. I got it at a great price and the buying process was so smooth the paperwork was done before I went to work and I drove it to work that morning. Received outstanding customer service from salesman Trevor Wells! When a seemingly simple cash purchase became unexpectedly complicated, (I'm in California) he was determined to overcome every obstacle. He was not only helpful, but professional, courteous AND attentive. Within seconds of my request, he texted the Carfax report for the vehicle we were interested in. He also provided updates after every interaction with his sales manager and promptly answered EVERY question I threw at him (there were a lot!). When it was time for the test drive, my sister (the intended recipient) planned to order an Uber. Not necessary! Trevor picked her up AND shuttled her back home! I've owned two Lexuses, an Acura, an Infiniti and a Mercedes Benz and have never experienced this level of customer service. While the first vehicle did not turn out to be what we were looking for, I can promise you, we will be back. If you are searching for a quality vehicle and impeccable service, this is the dealership. On the way from Wisconsin to Florida with our vintage Hyundai, we experienced serious mechanical issues. After being towed to Grayson Hyundai, we dealt with service manager Tim Walsh. Unfortunately, he didn't have particularly good news, but was polite, courteous, and carefully explained everything, and our options. We chose the repair option, and wandered to the lot to wait for our ride. While wandering thru the lot, we were greeted by salesman Greg Vittetoe. Not intending to purchase a vehicle, none the less, Greg was helpful and answered our questions. Several vehicles did catch our attention, and a couple of test drives later, we cancelled our ride and purchased our 2017 Santa Fe. Greg was courteous, polite, honest, not "pushy", and truly a pleasure to deal with. We left feeling exceptionally happy with our purchase, price, and all Grayson employees. I would caution anyone thinking about getting their car serviced at Grayson Hyundai. I bought a brand new Kona exactly one year ago from Grayson, and an engine warning light came on just over a week ago. I took the first service appointment available, which was five days later. After taking the car in and waiting for two hours, I was told they would need to keep the car a day or two more to determine the problem. Two and a half days later, I've called several times and still no word from Grayson service department. I have been put on hold, asked to leave a message, and assured several times that I'd receive a return call, which has NEVER happened. They obviously have zero idea what they are doing. They could at least have the decency to call and say they are clueless what's wrong with the car and they're working to figure it out. Never go to this business! read more

Used car buyer BEWARE. I DO NOT recommend this dealership after my horrific experience recently. Please know that this business will have no problem selling you a vehicle that is dangerous. Yes, the car I purchased ended up having major safety issues. WARNING! The sales manager told me that once they receive a trade-in that they DO NOT look at that used vehicle AT ALL before they put it back out on their lot to sell. HIS EXACT WORDS. Do not assume that just because this is a relatively large dealership that they will be more safety minded and ethical when it comes to their customers. I learned some very painful lessons here. This was the WORST ENCOUNTER with a dealership that I have ever experienced in my life. These same "wonderful" people before the sale showed absolutely no concern nor empathy after the sale. They just gave me an empty canned response. Fact of the matter is that once they got my money they did not care. This dealership could have had a customer for life, but now I will never set foot on the grounds of this business again. Did I mention that I fall in the 800+ credit score club? Now, I will make a point to warn as many people as I can about their concerning practices based on their own words. Everything worked out for me (thank God) after I met some incredible people at another dealership. Believe it or not, there are still one or two car dealerships out there that are somewhat trustworthy. Do your homework. Please be careful out there everybody! read more

The quick and dirty regarding today's visit is that my service advisor and tech were both awesome. That being said, the service prices here are outrageous! I presented my vehicle because I felt it was having an issue accelerating. Although a related issue wasn't identified, there were a few other suggestions such as an axel boot replacement ($500+), lower oil pan seal replacement ($378) and an air filter($80). Aside from charging $80 to install a less than $10 air filter, the lower oil pan seal was $378! Keep in mind the seal itself cost about $10. The only service I elected to have performed was the leaking oil pan repair, only because I was making a long trip today. The kicker here is had I gone just a half a mile up the road to Mineke the same service would have been performed for $189! I typically have my vehicle serviced at a Hyundai dealership but these prices are unreasonably inflated. It's so disappointing that this is a representation of such a great car company. read more
