Absolute horrible service department, went in for a recall that they determined just an oil change was all I needed. Within a few hundred miles there was knock. I took it back in, after a week I called to Christen to ask what was going on as no one contacted me. I was told at this time I had my transmission rebuilt but that did not fix the problem, they were going to check the engine next. Again, I do not hear from anyone so I call back again asking what is going on, now I am told I need a new engine. Eddie Zamora was a complete A=$hole on the phone as was Christen, Eddie would not even give me his name. Over a month later my 2023 ZR2 has a rebuilt transmission, a new engine and a new radiator. No communication, they clearly caused the damage and where completely ignorant when contacting to get information. read more

When I purchased a brand new 2025 Equinox RS, I didn't expect for all computer functions to stop working. USB connection, Bluetooth, CarPlay, Android Auto, 360 camera, built in on board Google navigation are all not working. After my 4th warranty trip to West, they've finally agreed to fix the turn indicator (malfunctions and snaps the opposite direction) which they've known about for months but denied a warranty fix because it wasn't "unsafe". They tell me GM is looking into the computer issue and to come return the loaner and pick up my 2025 fully loaded vehicle that I'm paying monthly on, with the entire computer dead. The same computer West Chevy installed after they broke the original one trying to do an update, leaving me in a rental for 2 weeks. So even though it's under warranty, within the first year of purchase, under 12,000 miles, with an already replaced computer that West themselves completely broke, they want me to come get it and put it back on the road. I've had 6 chevy's, 3 of which were new, and have never owned another brand. I was always fully taken care of at previous dealerships and vehicle models. This is my first time dealing with West, and the difference is disappointing. read more

They do not return phone calls or e-mails. When you make an appointment and bring your vehicle in, they make you wait for over 2 hours then they tell you they get to it that day, that they would have to make me another appointment (which hasn't happened yet). I find the business is very unprofessional and no help at all. How is a person supposed to get a problem fixed if no one will answer their phones or return phone calls? read more

We bought a car 2 days ago from West Chevrolet snd Scott in the finance department added a "theft protection Road Advantage" item to our finance contract for $499.00, which is basically just some stickers in the door, without ever drawing attention to it, or having a separate page or item line for us to initial. This is basically a scam they add to every deal. Plus their exorbitant documentation fee that is at least double what any other dealership charges. When the Finance guy Scott basically told me to go pound sand they won't refund it, I asked for his boss Kevin, who has no skills in customer service at all. Be careful if buying a used vehicle here! Shortly after purchase, the vehicle was found to have significant frame damage requiring thousands of dollars in repairs. Upon returning to West Chevrolet of Alcoa TN, they refused to even look at the vehicle, refused to repair the damage, refused to offer any kind of a refund, and were unable to switch me into a vehicle of comparable value/style. The frame damage was not disclosed to me at purchase, and when confronted with the issue, they were not surprised and not helpful in any way. read more

My first unfortunate incident at this dealership included the SALES MANGER " attempting " to withhold a five hundred dollar rebate prior to the purchase . This rebate was offered to Military members during Military truck month. I am a military member. I immediately drove to another CHEVROLET dealership , purchased a new truck, and received the NATIONALLY offered military rebate as well as an additional five hundred dollar rebate. My second unfortunate incident occurred when the SERVICE MANAGER "attempted" to explain to me that a technician had driven my truck around the parking lot and that my transmission was going out and that he could have me one in by the end of the week for forty-seven hundred dollars. My truck had been towed to this lot (nearest Chevrolet) by default due to a separate issue. I immediately drove my truck to a professional transmission service center where it was determined that there was absolutely NO mechanical issues with my transmission or vehicle. Time has passed but I believe American consumers should be aware of the lack of morals and the deplorable , borderline criminal behavior that this organization fosters. read more

West Chevrolet just saved me a bundle. I had them do a pre-purchase inspection on a used Chevy Volt. Those are hard to get inspected properly because the hybrid battery needs to be checked out. The first guy that did it (Lemon Squad) said he couldn't get any codes out. Eddie at West Chevrolet agreed to pull the codes for free. Found a whole bunch of them. 2 days ago we were in a rental car heading back from a weekend in Gatlinburg when we lost air pressure in a back tire. After stopping to put $2 worth of quarters into an air compressor at a gas station, we hit the road but didn't make it a mile until the warning signal was flashing showing that our tire was losing more air. So we pulled into the 1st dealership that was there & the guys at West Chevrolet were SO nice to us. They put the car up on racks within 15 minutes & found the hissing leak where a pice of metal had punctured the tire. They plugged the leak & didn't charge us anything (I gave the tech $20 tho)! Eddie was the guys name who was in charge of handling this process & we REALLY appreciated his help getting us back on the road again. West Chevrolet has a horrible service dept. I waited for a week and a half to get an appt to look at an issue that they were supposed to fix 4 months ago. After 2 days in the shop with no call or text, I text them and called and they finally returned my call. At first they said that no one had looked at it yet and they would call back tomorrow. Then a hour later called back and said that it was a different issue and would cost $800. I talked to a shop foreman since the service manager was on vacation and told him that it was doing the exact same thing that cost $500 a few months ago. He said well sometimes it can just be a loose wire then he called me back a few days later to say that it starts fine. So basically after 8 days in the shop, nothing was done and no call from the service manager. The service advisors are also very rude. When you drive up on Monday morning and cars are lined up halfway around the building for repair then it should be a sign to not buy a Chevy. read more

Drove 3 1/2 hours to look at a commercial vehicle. Was told that fleet sales would be back on Monday. What, hello, I just drove 3 1/2 hours. Next excuse was the vehicle we were looking at was sold. Had another vehicle on the next lot over and was told we had to have a Fleet # from GM to purchase off of that lot. Excuses, excuses, excuses. I have never heard of having a Fleet #. To get a Fleet #, we were told that we have to own a minimum of 12 commercial vehicles. After leaving, I texted with an agent and they told me I should reach out to their Fleet Sales Manager on Monday. Needless to say, I'm going back to Ga without a new vehicle; but, I got plenty of excuses why I'm not driving home in a new vehicle. read more

Do not waste your time or money here! Terrible customer service. We received a few free oil changes when we purchased a car here. Every time we brought it in for the oil change, we encountered customer service issues with the service department. This last time was the worst. We were given a 2-3 hour wait time for an oil change and coolant system flush. Around 1130 (2 hours in), the service tech called and said they were almost finished. We finished lunch and went to pick up the car at 1230. The receptionist said the car wasn't finished. When we asked how much longer it was going to be, the receptionist said she didn't know because the service tech that called me had gone home sick. The tech who had taken over was at lunch. The receptionist didn't know how to get ahold of the tech and had no idea when the car would be finished. When we asked to speak to a manager, the other receptionist said he was on vacation. She became annoyed that we were asking when our car would be finished after it was an hour past the estimated finish time that she stormed out of the office. The other receptionist just kept repeating that she didn't know what to do. It's very obvious this location has a lack of leadership and training. We will not be coming back for anything and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

We found something that we liked right away and started talking to a salesman, David Abercrobie. He helped us with a great deal and we bought it the next day. I was very disappointed with my experience at West Chevrolet. I had been speaking back and forth with sales people (who were very hard to get in touch with at times) about a truck and was deciding between 2 dealers who were both giving me good deals but ultimately decided to go with the one at West. I live in Nashville about 2 and a half hours from the dealer so I wanted to try and leave early enough to not be gone all night. This being the case, I went to my credit union where I already had financing approved to pick up a cashiers check. I had to wait on a sales manager for almost 2 hours to send a buyers order to my credit union to release the check which put me on the road around 4 CST. I notified the dealer that I was on my way and eventually arrived at around 6:30 CST which is 7:30 EST for West Chevrolet. Right when I walked in the door they had papers ready for me to sign before I even test drove it. I explained that I would like to take a test drive first and so we did. Once the test drive was finished, I asked that I could have a few minutes to call my father and gain his thoughts before making a final decision. I was completely prepared to go through with the deal, but while I was on the phone I was interrupted multiple times by sales people asking me what I was doing and that they were getting ready to close. This was very poor customer service in my opinion. I had just drove almost 3 hours to come buy a $50,000 truck and I am being rushed in making my decision. I have been. dealers till 10 at night working on deals before and they did what they could to make sure I, as the customer, was accommodated to the fullest extent. West Chevy clearly did not care about me as the customer, only the sale and for that reason I walked and would not recommend going here, especially if you are from out of town. read more

Ok, this smoothnoodlemap is giving a car dealer five stars? you're thinking. A car dealer? WTF? Well, let me explain two things. One, me and West Chevrolet have a long history, dating back to 1990. Two, West Chevrolet does not know that. Back in 1990 I didn't live here and was not familiar with the area. I was passing through, thought I was on I-40 (was actually I-140) when my car, then a Volkswagen Fox, suddenly died. Unsure where I was and with no other options, I got out and started walking. First place I came to was a car dealership, West Chevrolet. I couldn't have been luckier. When I explained the situation, they gladly let me use their phone to make not one but three long-distance calls, and then actually sent someone with me to pick up my luggage from the dead Fox and give me a lift to a neaby hotel. All for free. Of course, they made a half-hearted attempt to sell me a new car instead, but that wasn't gonna happen. But this was a huge investment in future goodwill, frankly. Even then I thought, Gee, if I'm ever in Knoxville and need to buy a car, I owe these people. Fast-forward to 2011. By now, as it happens, I do live in Knoxville. But I don't need to buy a car. However, I have taken up professional mystery-shopping, so I get paid to pretend I do. And what do you know? Here's West Chevrolet again. Car-dealer mystery shops are involved and detailed, covering everything from the lot appearance and signage to the salesperson's technique and verbatim dialogue to descriptions of the car shown and even the cleanliness of the public restrooms, and guess what? West Chevrolet scored very very well on their report. Of course, no one there remembered some lost guy with a broke-down car from eleven years earlier. Then it's 2013, and what do you know, I do need to buy a car. But I have particular needs and I'm not gonna let anything like such history sway me when it comes to an investment of that stature. I assiduously evaluate competing models from Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Chevrolet, and several other makers, and it's a wash. Several would seem fine, and all the prices are negotiably close. How do I choose? Service, service, service. They're good people at West Chevrolet. Yes, they're in business, they need to make a profit, but they take a long-term view, not quick-buck take your money, screw you ouf of a few more dollars, and goodbye. Folk there understand that dealing autos ain't like dry cleaning or peddling tacos. So I bought my new car from West Chevrolet. One caveat about the usual car-dealer chicanery: After you negotiate the total price with your salesperson, have him/her write it down and sign it before you speak to the finance manager. I paid cash outright, and nonetheless an extra $300 magically tried to appear on the contract. read more

Went in today to see if they had a 3500 dually to test drive. When we pulled in, there were 3 or 4 salesmen standing around waiting (it was about 3:30pm). Diego ended up being the one to wait for us and our kids to pile out. We didn't know it at the time but my husband and I were getting the same vibe from him. Diego didn't seem thrilled to work with us. It felt like he begrudgingly showed us a commercial version (we just wanted to see how the interior fit our family) because he didn't have anything else in stock (that's understandable). But the way he acted made us feel like it was the busiest time of the day and we were wasting his time. I don't know if he didn't think we were serious or something but even if we are looking to purchase a month or two down the road, you'd think it would be worth it to invest in meaningful conversation when we could be dropping $65k on one of his trucks. He sat with us and basically talked about everything he couldn't do to work with us. It felt like he was trying to get us out the door. Weird for a salesman. I mean, when we are toying with the idea of buying a car and just perusing, I want to be left alone. But we are looking to make a fifth wheel purchase line up with a truck purchase and need to be taken seriously. He never got our contact info and as soon as we walked out he was on his cell doing other business. Maybe he was having a bad day? I called another dealer (not Chevrolet) on the way home (45 minute drive), talked to a great guy who sounded like he was excited to work with us, had a meaningful conversation, and exchanged contact info so we could go in when they had a truck for us to test drive. If we decide to go with a Chevy, it most likely won't be with this particular dealership. I guess next time we'll know better and just call ahead but we were in the area for other appointments and decided to stop in... who knew we'd be an inconvenience? read more

They refunded his money and put him in another. We just purchased a used Silverado the process was quick and easy without the typical back and forth haggling. Well I never like visiting a dealership especially for service. This time while it was covered under the warranty I was just waiting for something else to go wrong. Appointment time was for 9 but I arrived at 8:30. Everyone was courteous but when I asked if I could get a rental or courteous car I was told they didn't have any. I waited till 12:30 and hadn't heard from anyone so I went and asked about the status. I was then told they would get me a rental because they thought they knew what the problem what was. Enterprise arrived and brought me to their office to which I then went through the rental process. They placed me into a brand new full size pickup to which was not very economical on the fuel. I was then told that, that was the only vehicle I could get and if I needed it longer (weather) I would have to go back thru West. We then received a call from West the next day to which they told us to call them back. Upon calling them back they explained they think they find the problem and was fixing it. This took them all day to complete and while we were about to leave our house we were told to come pick up our car. This was very inconvenient for us as we had to modify our current plans. So why the three stars? No one explained to me from West that I would be responsible to refill the fuel in the rental, Enterprise did. Enterprise also told me that since West was responsible for the days rented I assumed they would be responsible for the fuel. I hardly used the rental but it burnt 1/4 tank of gas to which I had to spend over $20 to refill it. When we brought this up to West that they should had explained that first, they just looked at us and said that's just the way it works and we would have to take that up with Enterprise. Not only that, but the reason we took it in is still happening. read more

By far the worst service I have ever had at a car dealership. My husband and I parked and asked about the 2021 Tahoe. The salesman half pointed and said "it's over there". I am 7 months pregnant and this vehicle was on a show hill - the small hill that they put the cars on to be shown off by the road. I'm not sure what he was expecting my to do - climb the hill to look at it? My husband asked if it was unlocked and the salesman said no so my husband had to urge him to unlock it so we could actually see it. When my husband asked if we could test drive it, the guy just looked at us and asked "are you going to buy it". My husband said "well I don't know yet". This was the rudest question to ask a customer. I will admit that we mentioned we were out of town, but my husband was looking for a fleet vehicle for his company not a personal vehicle. If we had excellent service and could guarantee a good price, we could have easily walked away with a deal. This particular salesman lost that opportunity. We are a young couple and were not "dressed to the nines", but a salesman should definitely not write off a customer before they even step out of the car. I hope this salesman doesn't treat others like this, but I would honestly not be surprised. So if you must buy from this location, I'm very very sorry for the headache I am sure you will have at the end of the day. read more

I'd leave a zero if I could. I'm a divorced foster and adoptive mother of 8. I was recently in a car wreck. no one was hurt but I did lose my only vehicle. I had my financial institution set up with an agreed amount to spend towards a new car. I spent the last weekend of my rental out shopping for a new car. I happened upon west Chevrolet of Knoxville, dealer ambercombie. There were red flags from the beginning now that I look at it. He took down my info then told me he may be able to get me a better deal than my financial institute. So I let him run a hard check. I noticed others looking at the vehicle but figured it was just random. While waiting a response he tried showing me another car I had mentioned interest in and I immediately shot him down cause I had my mind set. He came back at me telling me he couldn't approve it but give me a bill of sale so I could have my institution contact him Monday. He told me he couldn't take a $500 deposit till Monday and sent me out the door. He called me the following day on a Sunday, they are closed, to tell me he sold the vehicle after I left. That type of behavior is unacceptable and shouldn't be how a company would want to represent themselves. I highly don't recommend west Chevrolet and feel a family owned business would have more respect and values for a customer Than what was shown to me Saturday. Now I understand why he refused my deposit and why he showed me a random vehicle after checking my credit that costed me points. I'll never in my life do business with this family and I'll do what it takes to spread the word that others don't as well read more
