Our car was shifting hard and needed an oil change during a road trip and this grease monkey was exactly what we needed. Our technician, SMN is what printed on our receipt but that may be her initials, was amazing. They were quick, technically skilled, and courteous. They did our oil change, checked how the car ran, and advised other necessities to make the car run right. It is also really cool to have a non male mechanic! Their waiting room was really nice and had cookie dough and a toaster oven so we made cookies while we waited. They also had a dog bowl for our dog. It was great :). read more

I was passing through town and had an engine light on in my car. I pulled in and asked if they would read the code. They read the code, I asked them to reset it to see if it would light again while I was driving which they did. The people were cheerful, helpful, and courteous. Left Seattle for Grand Junction and within 50 miles my change oil light came on. Made it to GJ and found a bay big enough for my Transit van. The young men here working on my van were great. One was Jason and I did not get the other young man's name but both were super helpful and saved me a bit of $ as we all know these oil changes are not cheap. They offer a CMU student discount (and they gave me the CMU discount as well!) so I will be sending both my kids over when they need oil changes living here in Grand Junction. read more

I took my car in for a simple oil change. When I got home I noticed a leak- the leak continued to get worse over the next few days. I took my car to the dealership to get this leak checked out. I was informed that whoever did my oil change screws the bolts in so tight that they stripped all the bolts-leaving damage that resulted in $1300.00. I called the manager at Grease monkey he told me that if I could show that this was their fault, they would make it "right". I got a detailed report from VW and also the parts- my car was in the shop for 5 days. Took the report AND the parts into the location on horizon drive and was met with another employee that dismissed me, took the parts and began to say that VW basically didn't know what they were talking about. Manager called later that day and said he would "investigate" and let me know. Haven't heard back. Called corporate, they said they would be in touch- nothing. All of this mess over a $80.00 oil change. Sad that this is how they do business and if you complain trust me- you will not hear back. If you're a women, they will treat you like you are an idiot and have no idea what your talking about!!!!! Very unprofessional!!!!! read more

If you are looking for great customer service, this is the place to go. I have used them a few times for my own truck, but what impresses me the most is that my daughter goes to college in Grand Junction and they take great care of her. While getting ready to come home for summer break, she called to ask what kind of oil she needed because it was low. I told her to run by Grease Monkey and that they would take care of her. She later texted me saying that they were topping her oil and all of the fluids for her, plus checked the air in her tires and vacuumed out the car. My wife took her car in for a standard oil change. She was told it needed a transmission flush and all the differentials fluid also required changing. She called me and I told her to tell them no just do the standard oil change, 5 minutes later she called back and said they told her that they were concerned due to a burnt smell in the differential fluids and really recommended doing all of this work. Again I told her no just to do the standard oil change and to setup an appointment to have the dealership check all our fluids. One week later the dealership brought all of the fluids out in sample jars for us to inspect. All fluids looked perfect, crystal clear with no burnt smells or blackening. Buyer beware. Don't send your wife there if she doesn't know at least a little bit about cars. read more

I am so impressed with this location. Jack, store manager, really got me out of a bind. I was in GJ for work and took my car in bc I had issues going over the pass to get there. I arrived at the end of the day and still received top notch service. Jack went out of his way to call the neighboring parts stores to find the ones that were needed for my car. He was supposed to be off the next day, not only did he come in on his day off, but also came in early to get started on my car. He got me back on the road within a couple of hours. I took my car here to get an issue fixed that another grease monkey had created. I had a skid plate under my car that came loose when the other store didn't reattach it after rotating tires and changing my oil. They took GREAT care of me at this location even though it wasn't their problem to begin with! They made sure I was taken care of quickly and they performed a check on the rest of my car to make sure everything else was ok. They fixed two mistakes the other location made. They were polite and have great customer service! They put flowers in my car and even helped me out to my car with an umbrella to keep me out of the rain. Great shop with great customer service!!!!
