I just had a very rude person. Ian tell me that he cannot service my car and I asked him why he told me because I had relations that used to work there. And I said, what does that have to do with me? Spending $500 or more on new tires. A few months ago, they're under warranty. I'm having an issue and he told me he was not allowed to service my car and I had to get off the property Rude people drugs in and out of that place.Yeah I made a big mistake. And how do I know there's drugs in and out of that place? So let's just say the manager and the assistant manager.The gentleman they are breasties, and they were there before, and that's what they were doing.And that's why it had closed down.It is just a nasty place, always dirty.The people look like they just woke up, got out of bed and came to work.Yeah, I wouldn't be doing this.If they didn't do what they did to me today.But i'm just laying it all out now. read more

So I had my girl go up there to get an oil change, yes I see they close at 5 but she gets there around 430 to 440 and they wanna act like they can't do one more car, lazy service, most of them in the office on their phones, I change oil on my own and when it comes to the shops it's even easier work so this is very unacceptable!! Wow! Where do I begin? I am thoroughly impressed by the service provided by Grease Monkey in Normal, IL. I don't often do reviews, but I have to brag on how helpful and attentive the manager Jeff and his repair technician, Jeremy, were when my young adult daughter had trouble with her power steering. The vehicle was very difficult to steer and control. We were concerned we might need to replace the power steering pump and "God only knows what else" on this 21 year-old car. Even though the shop was short staffed when I called, Jeff was considerate and allowed my daughter to drop the car off as she was leaving town right before the Labor Day weekend. They actually inspected the car the next day and gave us an initial diagnosis which was an air leak in the power steering return line resulting in leaking power steering fluid which could have ultimately damaged the power steering pump if was left unchecked for too long. He explained that he would have to do some testing to be sure. Long story short, they went to work, and he called me several times that first day with regular updates on their actions and their findings. The more we talked on the phone, the more I began to remember other issues with the car (a.c. not working, heat issue, broken control knob, etc) and one by one, I asked Jeff if they could look into them, and Jeff didn't hesitate to address each and everyone. He even went so far as to locate a rear light housing assembly from a local salvage yard and to replace our old rusted one which was not working and preventing the turn signal from working properly when activated. I also have to thank God that the salvage yard had a similar make and model vehicle as our car with the part we needed because he couldn't order it from the dealership since that part was no longer being produced by the manufacturer. (A little divine intervention never hurts.) Jeff was very patient and informative while explaining what was going on with the vehicle, and he went over the pricing and cost savings options every step of the way! Even with all my additional inquires, the car was repaired and ready for pick up in under 2 days. I can't say enough good things about the customer service! Honest! Fair! Efficient! They over delivered, but they did not overcharge me! I would definitely go back, and I would highly recommend! Thank you Grease Monkey for a stellar experience! read more

Not the quickest place to get your oil changed, but there is a unique level of honesty that you can bet competitors won't have. A hose connection on my 16-year old radiator broke, and they had a new radiator installed free of charge within a couple of hours. From what I could tell, one of their employees had to drive half an hour away to get the part. I appreciated the prioritization and honesty. At another point, one oil tech pointed out to me that my oil didn't quite require changing yet, and saved me from changing it a couple of months early. (I had been driving my car significantly less, but had came in because 3 months had passed) Nice techs, good management. Well worth it if you've got the time. read more

I went here today and the manager told me it would be 45 minutes. I really wanted to get my oil changed so I waited patently. After approaching an hour and 15 minutes of waiting and the manager busy talking to some woman for a lot of that time I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. Do not get your oil changed at this location unless you don't mind waiting for a long period of time. read more

I literally downloaded yelp so I could write a review for this unprofessional business. We went in for an oil change and replace the wipers, two people ahead of us left because the wait was so long. Our estimated time was only 30 minutes, it took an hour. The three men working were talking and cracking jokes while the two other people's wait time had already gone past an hour and ours was already past the 30minute mark. He took us out to the car to tell us what quality the front is in and everything was running well. The guy who seemed to be "in charge" if that's what you could say he was doing, then proceded to get on his phone and walk away from the cars. Not only did this take a ridiculous amount of time but they were disrespectful and when we checked out and asked about the "quality guarantee" for a dollar off each minute extra than the estimated time he said "well we also did some other things also but sure we can take $10 off". Of course because IT DOES TAKE AN EXTRA 30 MINUTES TO PUT ON WIPERS. To conclude my review I will never go back here ever. And neither should you. read more

They advertise quick oil changes - but on average it takes 45 minutes to an hour to get an oil change here when there is no one else in line. It's ridiculously expensive and the employees are unprofessional. There are many other options for oil changes in town - I recommend any but this grease monkey location. read more

This is the second time I come here. First time I was here for almost 1.5 hours, of course the oil change was free, but seriously it shouldn't take that long. And the second time I was in front of someone but someone else came after me with an appointment... I didn't even know this place did appointments! Too much time wasted here! 30 min oil change but be ready to be here for more than an hour. The price is cheap but not worth the wait. read more
