I've been coming to this Grease Monkey location on and off for quite a while and have never had an experience like I did today. I came in around 2 PM on a Wednesday and was the only customer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment I arrived, Austin was rude and seemed annoyed that I was even there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Normally, I'm greeted at my car window and asked what type of oil change I need. Instead, Austin stuck his head out of the door and yelled from a distance asking what I needed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told him I needed a full synthetic oil change. I found it unprofessional to not approach the vehicle and to communicate by yelling across the parking lot, something I've never experienced here before. He told me to go to bay 1. When I began pulling in, I hesitated because staff usually guide cars over the opening in the floor. After waiting briefly and seeing no guidance, I slowly proceeded into the bay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Austin then rudely snapped, "I told you to go to bay 1, not inside it."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I apologized, but I was honestly shocked by how he spoke to me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perhaps if he had approached my car when I arrived, I could have heard his directions more clearly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At that point, I seriously considered leaving and taking my business to one of the many other oil change places nearby. I decided to give it another chance, assuming maybe we had just started off on the wrong foot and the holiday season can be stressful for everyone. Unfortunately, his tone continued to be abrasive. He asked me several questions one being whether I'd been there before (I know they keep records of this), and why I didn't have the sticker on my window, all in a way that felt accusatory and dismissive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clayton, who appeared to be management, took over the rest of my service and was professional and kind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He recommended some additional maintenance that my car likely needs, and under normal circumstances I would have agreed. The total would have been approximately $400-$500. However, [[HIGHLIGHT]]Austin's behavior and tone left such a bad impression that I declined any additional services during this visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would like to continue supporting this business, as I've had positive experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, Austin's attitude made this visit extremely unpleasant and will likely prevent me from returning. I went to Grease Monkey by the Winn Dixie on N Ponce in St Augustine for an oil change . If you don't have a coupon, it's $101 and that doesn't include an oil filter or "shop supplies! Then I was told they couldn't fill the washer fluid because their pump was broken. After a couple of days I noticed a good size puddle under my car. Went back and the "tech" said everything checked out good with my car except the drain plug was loose. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No apology because he and the other guy didn't work that day and basically told me to leave[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They didn't offer to check my oil level to make sure the car had a safe level and didn't care about the large oil stain in my driveway. I came for an oil change on my lunch break. They were busy, but it still didn't take too long. The gentleman that took my info was a nice, young man named Seth. It's right on the water so they have tables and chairs set up or you can sit on the wall. The views are beautiful. It was actually kind of nice to sit in the sun and look at the boats and just relax for a little bit. Everyone there was professional and polite. No one brought me a piece of cardboard with some oil on it and tried to sell me a flush for $200.00. No one tried to convince me of anything actually. It was really refreshing to not be taken advantage of! I will definitely be back in 3000 miles! read more

J.B. 1/18/25: I've been going to this particular place for over 15 years when it was Texaco Lube. I always had great service and no issues. Now it changed to Grease Monkey. The first time I went under this new ownership, I had no issues. I just went back to have my oil changed and had to go to another mechanic because GM stripped the plug to my oil pan and ruined the pan too. They are pricey too. I had to end up paying over $500 for another mechanic to fix the damage they caused. I will never go back there again and will discourage anyone I know from going there too. I don't think the fellas there know what they're doing. read more

I had to pay $52 for a simple oil change, and provided my own oil. Also, the attendant(hardly mechanic) told me I was 4,000 miles overdue from last change. What nonsense. The last change, which they had records of was a synthetic grade that allowed at least 7,000 miles or more, and the difference was only about 6,000 since last change. It was obvious from their records, but he tried to hustle me into buying an aditive to compensate for the mythical over mileage. What a SCAM!!! Imagine if I did not know any better, because he had a list of other unnecessary charges I refused. I am still angry about the the shysters at Grease Monkey!!! read more

Great place, good people. Gave a solid deal on work that beat everyone in town. We had a chance to coincidentally hit them at a slower time and they did everything and more to fix up the car last second, 30 minute notice (brakes changed and inspected, oil change, tires inspected and rotated) at best price in town, done before we could even get back. I'd recommend them for sure, especially as a local. If you're nice and work with them they'll work with you. read more

I have been taking all of my vehicles to this location for over 15 years and never been unsatisfied, until today. I arrived at 11 as the only customer and simply needed an oil change and asked to have the tire pressure checked due to the indicator light being on and I had just checked all four tires and the pressure was fine. I told them to please let me know if it was not the tire pressure so I could have the issue addressed and see if it was a bigger issue. I sat inside as customer after customer came and left. An hour and a half later one staff member came out and asked, has anyone told you what is going on with your car? I said no, I've been here well over an hour and I was here first. He said, " the oil filter broke as they tried to take it off and they've been working to get it off, someone was supposed to tell you. It was only a hundred miles over and a few months since last change so I have no idea why it was an issue. I left there frustrated and was even more frustrated when I looked down and the tire pressure light was still on. I was already an hour late to get back to work so I could not go back. Jose is the one guy there who always has taken good care of me and runs a tight staff, if I do go back there it will only be if he's there and I doubt I will be going back. Since the mechanic Richard is no longer there and a whole new staff is there it's not the same place. No one seemed to know what was going on. After going over the invoice, I see noted that both cabin and air filter are recommended to be replaced. It was also noted under "have a great day" there is a leak on the rear main seal of the engine. None of this was told to me!!! I always replace any recommenced service while I'm there. This was a completely disorganized crew that every customer who was there was questioning what is going on. I told the staff member I initially spoke with that I am getting this vehicle prepared to sell so please look it all over and let me know if anything needs to be replaced or repaired. The issues I did want looked at were not and the ones that were noted were never told to me. All that was done was them breaking the oil filter taking it out and after an hour and a half finally telling me what happened. This place has become a circus of untrained staff with no one seemingly in charge. I will be looking for a new place to take my vehicles for service. This is inexcusable!! read more

Stopped in for oil change. Cost was about 25% higher than previous owner (Havoline). While oil change was adequate, they apparently leaned on the drivers side fender which subsequently was caught by door and bent inward. They claim they never touched the side of the car but it was fine when I got there. read more

My car's tire sensor showed my rear passenger tire was low but the air machine at two gas stations showed the PSI was fine. Not wanting to travel 1,100 miles back home the gas station attendant referred me to Grease Monkey. When I told them my concern they immediately starting checking my tire air pressure. The rear passenger was fine but my driver front was low (24 instead of 35). They aired it up and made sure all were safe for travel. Called them first thing in morning and they were able to accommodate me to replace my rear break pads . I had to leave the car but they called me 2 hours later letting me know they completed the job. After I paid and left I heard a repetitive rubbing sound coming from the rear of the car so I had to turn around and go back. After they inspected the car again they told me upon repairing one of the break pads the caliper was sticking and the break pad shoe wasn't retracting back and the caliper had to be replaced. At this point I had to leave my car again for another 3 hours . When I returned, because of the inconvenience, they charged me a discount price for the parts and a portion of the labor cost. For the record I have to mention my infinity W40 is a 2015 with 150,000 thousand miles . The service was good and the employees are very pleasant and I appreciate there service. read more

After oil change our car started to overheat and fan stayed on even when engine was off. Trying to cool the engine. Took to mechanic. It had no coolant or and freeze in it even though they had said they were checked and full on receipt. They go too fast and don't know what they are doing.
