Came in for my 8am oil change appointment. I had been in before for my 2009 Camry. Now I brought in my '22 Camry. It was quick I waited about an hour not bad. I received a recommendation on my 4 tires needing to be changed; tread was worn, advised it could be dangerous when the roads are wet. First quote was about $1100, I declined because I wasn't expecting it. Shortly after the man that checked me in said he could add a discount if cost was an issue brought it down to $953 tax included. I did schedule that service out 2 weeks. Nonetheless insie was clean, spacious, there wasn't a list of "to do's" like the dealerships hound you for. It also didn't take super long like the dealership does even with an appointment. Kind, friendly service, no pressure buying. read more

I was a walk in with needing a "new" used tire. Wasn't sure why my tire was flat. AAA removed it in the morning and did not check to see what was wrong. In less than an our Joey took charge and had my old tire evaluated, repaired, donut removed and old tire back in place. I found Ray's after planning a purchase from Tire Rack and looking for a reliable installer. I had a recommendation from the dealership for a gasket and power steering pump replacement. I asked Ray's about these ms some other work. I was blown away! I was called into the shop and shown under the car-there was no oil leak and no power steering pump leak. we review the other work and I thanked them to the Nth degree for being so hones. I told them I had been looking for a service center which would be solidly honest and do quality work. I finally found one. by saving me thousands in repairs I was able to dance other maintenance work which would have been delayed into next year. I'm impressed by the quality of their work. the AC was noticeably colder, the acceleration vastly improved. I'm happy to bring additional work to Ray's. read more

I am truly impressed with my experience at Ray's Tires and Automotive. I recently got a flat tire and had to be towed to the shop. Upon arriving, I discovered that my starter also needed to be replaced. Ray's was able to replace the starter and all my tires for a fair price and my car was ready the next day! They also performed an inspection and sent it to me by text along with educational videos which I loved :) Communication was exceptional and I received friendly service from all the staff, especially Joey. I set up an appointment for a coolant system flush and replacement of the upper and lower radiator hoses on a Dodge Ram. The amount quoted by Angela was around $660, charging me $180 for the upper hose (they get the hose from Carquest (Advance Auto), and a similar ridiculous amount for the lower hose. Retail on this upper hose is $23 to $49 per the Advance Auto website - I get there should be a markup, but not this outrageous amount. The amount quoted by Angela to replace the two hoses was two hours, a job that takes 20 minutes at best. I have had great experience with Jimmy, a service advisor, but dealing with Angela is a completely different story. Do not go to Ray's Tire in Saint Augustine for any work if you have to deal with Angela. read more

I am very thankful for RAYS and auto repair !!! originally , I had gone to another place to check out what problems I had with my Ford F150 and they sent me back an estimate that was in the thousands, trying to rip me off. I took it to RAYs within a few hours they had given me an estimate that I was very pleased with; asked to go through with It ! Since I moved here 5 years ago from DC, I've been very happy with the service and quality here. Everyone's been kind and honest. I wasn't born yesterday, and I'm the kind to always get a second or third opinion on almost anything of import. I never worried I was being swindled or condescended at Ray's. However that changed today. I've never worked with Angel before, but she definitely did me dirty and the staff all knew it. I came in for an oil change and came out with a quote for $562 (and for what it was for, that was high but not unreasonable given it's a 16 year old car). 4 hours later I get the bill for $300 more than the quote I was given 2 hours before. I've never disputed a bill here, but this was egregious. They ended up knocking off $160, but I walked away from that with a bad feeling in my gut. I was played, and I won't be back. Too bad, because it's hard to find a good shop with honest folks. I still think they're mostly good people and a solid establishment, but I won't risk being swindled by Angel again (who is a manager there now I guess). Never done it before, but this would be a situation I'd report to the BBB, and plan to. No one deserves to be cheated out of their hard earned money. read more

I've been coming here for just under twenty years. This morning's experience is another reason reason why. Had to jump start car, then went to a nearby automotive place where I was told I needed a new battery. After a good lok, they decided it was too complicated. Called Ray's and they got me right in. After diagnostics no work was needed. I must have left the door ajar overnight. I have never had my car serviced in a business as honest as Ray's. I had a stud cross threaded in my wheel and they had to drill it out in order to change my flat tire. I was scared that I would end up needed a whole new wheel because there was a chance the drilling could destroy the wheel threads. Blew a tire on Rt 10 while driving in heavy traffic. Was able to get if off the highway and was buffeted from the wind created by the eighteen wheelers as we waited for the wrecker. Back on the road to St Augustine. Called around and was able to get into Ray's commercial facility today and they got me on the road away in less than a hour with two new General LT grabbers. First time customer here. I am genuinely shocked and confused. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation and the total was $56. I don't know if I got some sort of discount or something but I am shocked at the price! They got everything done in a little over an hour and I also had a detached engine splatter shield that they ended up just zip tying back up for free! I'll probably get a replacement but for now it works! If the price for my oil change and tire rotation is normal, I couldn't recommend this place any more! Still confused and shocked! read more

We were treated courteously and our needs were understood. We dropped our vehicle off at eight in the morning. Our tires were changed out and we had an oil change and filters replaced.
