The lady behind the counter, perhaps the owner, is so sweet! We felt so welcome! And these treats are made with love! From cookies to cakes and a few other sweet treats, she had quite the selection! I was tugged towards the pound cake, or maybe the chocolate layer cake or the pineapple cake but then I saw my Momma's favorite, Italian Cream Cake! It was always so hard to find (and a pain to make) so when I saw that in the display I knew that's the one I had to try. I have no regrets. It's a perfectly balanced cake with the right amount of frosting and mix-ins such as nuts and coconut. It's perfectly sweet and moist. When someone says they want Italian cream cake, this is what they want! Now I know where to go to order my cakes as just from this slice, I can tell this is the spot. While I've had eclairs and tarts from several different Italian bakeries, and 3 stores, this is the first time I've had them from a French (these treats originated in France) bakery. CEs: While it was packed with filling, I think, someone in the kitchen messed up, as there was a distinctive coffee taste (I don't like coffee), rather than just the custard or, vanilla taste. Had it not been for that, I would have given them 4 Stars. Why not 5? Well, I thought $6.00 (x2) and $7.00 each is a bit expensive. Especially, considering the size of the CEs and BAFT. There's a nice little seating area and it's bright and homey to sit in and enjoy your items. My kids are always thrilled to go because they get special attention.
