It was medium rare and juicy - very good. The baked chicken was tender and the cream/meringue pies were spot on The fried chicken got big reviews but it was very dry, and not much crunch to the skin. Alot of the veggie dishes were floating in fluids and the cakes were dry. The whole experience was squarely average. On a suggestive note, they should keep napkin dispensers on the table so you don't constantly have to flag down servers for napkins. read more

The highlights of this restaurant is the ample amounts of cooked meat they provided. I liked the steak, ribs, shrimp, and roast beef. The green beans and broccoli casserole were delicious. The baked potato was a nice touch and delicious. The restaurant was very crowded and very popular. Service was somewhat slow in getting us drinks and plates off the table. The bathroom was not in a clean condition. We stuffed ourselves but couldn't eat anymore food afterwards. The cost of the buffet was a good price yet I rather save money and cook three items we truly loved at the buffet. This place is ideal if you don't have time to cook and rather eat out. I wanted to give the restaurant a four star rating but had to drop a star to a three star rating due to the bathroom and the hit & miss of some of the food at the buffet and other factors. 11/9/2025: The chicken was dry and hard, don't recommend. They had a savory sauce on top, but didn't help. Then tried a different chicken and still tough. Let's back up. We arrived to the table and waited for a minute for drink orders then proceeded to get food. Then while eating, we had to flag waitstaff down for drink orders. I was already one plate in. They never returned for refills or anything else. Only plus was the broccoli and cheese casserole. The entire meal was a bore looking back. Not really memorable. Not sure how this place compares to nearby places, but elsewhere in Virginia, there is much better. Pro: Senior buffet every weekday PM is always a good deal for the price about $12 includes all the drinks you want. Con: Last week when there last, the serving tub of whipped butter was replaced by a tub of Margarine!! I asked the food attendant where the real butter was, but she shook her head and pointed to the sign: MARGARINE indicating that was all they had out on the buffet bar. I am not sure if that also applies to the hot, served at your table, baked potato with everything on it. This buffet has something for everyone. The salad bar is always clean and freshly stocked with scrumptious fresh veggies and a large selection to choose from. One nice addition is the plastic gloves for sanitary purposes. The selection of hot foods does not disappoint. There really is something for everyone. Whenever I hit up a new buffet, I try to get a little bit of everything so that I know what to load up on the next time (if there is one) I visit. I can't list everything I tried since I tried everything on their lunch menu but what I can tell you is that most of it was as the kids say "mid". Notables were the terrible (mac n cheese, turkey, ribs) and the really good (fried chicken, pulled pork, baked chicken) For the price, the lunch menu I say is worth it if you're looking to fill up and am not expecting outstanding flavor. Service was good, especially considering we were there at the height of the lunch rush on a Sunday. Our drinks were always refilled and our waitress bussed the table constantly so we didn't have to deal with the finished plate shuffle lol Will have to come back and see if the dinner menu is worth the price and if the quality perhaps improves. read more

Yes, I came back for the second time in one week. Yes, I do feel guilty eating at the same buffet for two days in the same week, but in my defense I like Great American better than Golden Corral located down the street by I-66. Now, about the food, which is why we are here. After 4pm the price goes up because some new food items are added, like steak, ribs, and roast beef. I didn't try the steak or the bbq ribs, but I did try their sliced roast beef. I don't have a beef with their roast beef. It was perfectly cooked, was juicy, and had a great beef taste. I also had their fried fish and their large fried shrimp. They were both very good. Also, great news for soft ice cream users, their ice cream machine is working. They got rid of their "Out of Order" McDonalds ice cream machine and now have an "In Working Order" Great American Buffet ice cream machine. That was great news for me. Now I was able to put something over my bowl of peach cobbler. Their ice cream is not too sweet or taste grainy, but is smooth and creamy. They do have a large crowd on Friday, after 4pm, and they have enough staff to handle their crowd. Our service was excellent and when we needed extra water our waitress would bring us new glasses of iced water. Empty plates were promptly removed from our table. We were on the main "in and out" walkway for their wait staff, so our table location may have been more about our location than our waitress attention to our needs. We experienced and enjoyable meal with a tremendous selection of under the heat lamp food and the food was promptly replenished as needed. This is the best buffet I have found in the Manassas area. Whew chile, it can get tight in there! We went on a Sunday but should go on a day where it's less crowded. The service and food were great but the buffet area can get very tight and congested with all of the hungry folks lurking around. It's a bit annoying, people are rude. Great service. We come here every 4th of July because we have so many children and it's just easy to feed them at the buffet lol. They have a nice variety. The roast beef and beans are good. The place was clean, the price was good, the food was good, and the service was excellent. There was a lot of selections to appease many different food preferences to include keto and vegan. This place is a typical buffet in the sense that it is cheap cute if meat and under seasoned food. Most of the food was deep fried and what wasn't was in a gravy or sauce. Nothing was good enough for seconds but there were enough options that even if you don't like it you can eat more food and eventually you'll get full. The desserts were absolute trash and the service was slow. We had to keep asking for refills and to clear the table. This time my boss treated us employees to lunch. Knowing a competitor is in Manassas I'm glad we ate lunch at this restaurant because I have been curious about it enough to say I'm going to do a Yelp thing before taking pictures. This location had more class being in a shopping Center in a suburban area. Also I'm sure the lunch variety wasn't as great as the dinner choices at the buffet. My foodie friend suggested me to try this buffet since long back. I just gave a shot last week and my experience was so good. I thought only limited food will be offered for the price they mentioned. But after going there I was astonished by their varieties. In the first round I had a lot of corn, some onion rings, Fried shrimp , cob salad which is made by me with items over there along with some ranch. In the second round I ate some broccoli casserole, again corn, corn bread, mac and cheese some chicken teriyaki and some rice. Later I had some strawberry cake along with pecan pie and vanilla ice cream. Final verdict is the food have some quality, and my lunch on that day is sumptuous. When I go to a buffet, I want to leave that place thinking "Wow, that was some good stuff and I really got my moneys worth." Definitely, don't get that feeling here. Tried this place twice now. First attempt: Food is less than mediocre and bland. Some of the stuff out there looks like leftovers from yesterdays buffet. The only fresh item you will probably get here is their fried chicken. The service is bad. It'll take you 2 red flags in the air to get their attention. Most of the servers just stand around talking amongst themselves, not doing their job. The manager sees this, but could care less. Second attempt: Figured maybe they were having an off day on my first visit here. So we decided to give this place another shot. Wrong move on my behalf. The food was still dry, old looking, and bland tasting. The service was worse this time around. Going to Golden Corral or Old Country Buffet would probably have been a better move. read more

I went late on a Sunday night, so that may have had an effect on my experience. This was my first trip. The dining room is decent enough. Certainly nothing impressive but on par with the clientele and prices. I inspected the buffet and it basically contained all the sorts of things you'd expect from an Americana buffet. I did think the offerings were not as numerous as I expected or compared to Golden Corral for instance. I will say all the food I had was a bit flavorless. And the foods which were okay seemed very much flavored with either oil or sugar. As for the types of items which are normally served to order, as opposed to slow roasted sorts of items, they all seemed dried out and forgotten (again beyond reason based on compared to Golden Corral). Nothing really impressed me. Service was okay. And the bathroom was destroyed (if you care about that sort of thing). Eating a bunch of food and then being nauseated by the bathroom is not a good combination. I doubt I will be returning. read more

Excellent value for seniors after 1 p.m. weekdays. Three old men could eat and drink our fill for $33, I only tipped the waitress $6. In retrospect probably would have given her $10, I didn't realize they comped our drinks as well, which they normally charge $2.50. Food was good, place is clean and efficient. This place has really gone downhill and we've been going there for a while. Let's just start out with the closing time, 8 pm. The first time we got there at 7:40pm and upon entering, the manager said you know we close at 8pm, making it perfectly clear to go away which we did. We went back twice since then and both times we were disappointed. They basically close the carving station at 7 pm and don't refill anything so basically you are paying a premium for left over, dried, or food that's not fresh. Also, they are strenuously cleaning up and sweeping while people are trying to eat. The bathrooms are atrocious. Have they looked at the floors lately? They are disgusting. Maybe close for steam cleaning? There is plenty of staff available so it doesn't appear to be staff related. It's simply not well ran. We have actually driven to the sister restaurant in Charlottesville Wood Fire Grill Buffet. Believe me, it's worth the drive. Such a shame though, this place used to be a great restaurant. read more
