Fremont Street is kinda sketchy - so anything can happen since you are walking around among the people of Fremont Street. We had a few off program truly spontaneous experiences during our show - which made it more fun. The members of our show were funny and entertaining. We worked with a team of others and had a fun time going from site to site (I won't give much detail because I don't want to ruin the fun!) to complete the mystery of the Mastermind and his grand getaway! The actors were all very funny and always remained in character to keep us on our toes - we were close to following strangers at one point because we were suspicious of everyone and everything! Everything is light-hearted and all in good fun! We had drinks included and some good snacks to boot... My only hope was that for out of towners, especially (since we're locals) where would be more iconic Vegas scenes thrown in either from movies or more well-known places around the strip to keep us outside of the mall area and unknown places we were at. I would've loved this to stay on Fremont to learn more about that area since we were in a quieter part of the actual strip.

I just picked the type of game that we wanted to play and chose a time. We picked the Steampump Escape Room and it was $40 per person for 1 hour. A waiver needs to be signed ahead of time online. This spot was located inside the mall. We did have a little trouble finding it since it was sort of hidden downstairs. We arrived 15 minutes before our game to check in and the staff went through the directions and watched a short video before we went inside the room. The level of difficulty was 7/10. The two rooms were a bit small for the five of us. The employee was helpful when we used the walkie talkie for hints. There wasn't that much technology used, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would highly recommend it.

After paying, you fill out the waiver forms on a tablet, secure your stuff in the complimentary school type lockers and you're ready to go. The pre-game screening shows you what to expect from your VR headset and weapon. Afterwards you enter the room and they load up your headset, vest with your VR Rifle attached. The equipment was comfortable, functional and I didn't have any issues. The Warhammer 40K game was 30 minutes long and it was Fantastic. Let me give a brief summary of Warhammer 40K: Imagine the darkest, most over-the-top sci-fi you can think of, then dial it up to eleven. That's 40k. It's set in the far future, like 40,000 years from now, and humanity is basically fighting for its life against everything. The galaxy is just one giant, brutal warzone. The core of it, revolves around the Space Marines. They're genetically engineered, surgically enhanced super-soldiers. They're basically humanity's ultimate weapon, created by the Emperor of Mankind. You and your team play as Space Marines on a mission that got me sweaty by the end of the game. The visual really played on my senses as my fear of heights in this virtual world was kicking in. The aliens that were swarming us kept the heart rate moving and the boss alien we had to battle was a blast. $50 (all in price) per person is probably the most I'd pay for this experience. At the end, you get the final game standings emailed to you along with a 30 second video clip that shows a side by side of what you were seeing in the game vs you in the actual world. Very cool and something to post on your IG story. We'll swing by here again if we come across games that really call to us like Warhammer 40K. Enjoy!

We didn't have reservations. I know not a good thing in Vegas. We were there for my buddy's Birthday. When we got there the clerk said that there was a game starting in 15 minutes but the people who reserved it was for the robot game and not the zombie one. We were disappointed but since we were here we decided to play. We stepped away and came back. The other worker waived us into the room and explained that the group didn't make it and we would be playing the Outbreak game. What luck. He went over a training video on the VR items and how to use the weapons. Then we were lead into the gaming room. It was a large room almost like a warehouse size. SO we had all this area to move around in. The VR headset was tricky lining up at least for me. If you didn't have it square on your eyes it wouldn't be in focus. I finally got it on correctly. The gun can be used as a shotgun or an assault rifle. I stuck with the latter. Reloading was automatic which was good and bad. It was slow but you could press the reload button on the bottom of the rifle. Hard to get used to but quicker. It was really neat. When you got close to a wall or a person a wall of red triangles popped up so you know to move away. The game was a story and easy to follow. It was weird doing VR. It looked like you had to climb a pipe and possibly fall. The guy had to tell us through the headset that you are still on a flat floor and to remember that to move through the obstacles. I had so much fun and I didn't time it but seamed pretty long of a game. I would love to do this again. Definitely make reservations. A must.

After much of the audience is seated, the cast walks around and talks with the patrons and there's time to have some good fun with questions about the person but at that point you have no indication of what their roles nor the story line is. After introductions, everyone at the table gets a program with the cast which includes the suspects, some clues, and a synopsis of the story. Time is taken for each course, with the story unfolding as the evening goes on. Each table appoints a team spokesman and the table comes up with some questions to ask of the suspects near the end when trying to decide who the murderer is. Meanwhile, members of the cast go around the room and answer--or not--some questions as they visit each table.The teams come up with the name of the killer, how the killing was done, and the motive for the killing. Our table got it wrong but we tried and that's the gist of having fun at an event like this. Mystery at the Earthquake Saloon was a lot of fun. There were songs from Broadway shows like "Paint Your Wagon" and "Annie Get Your Gun" both very appropriate for the story. (Hattie, you need to work on your singing :) :)). The dinner show lasted about three hours. The meal was good, the company at my table was fantastic, and the performers were excellent. This is really a fun way to spend an evening. Their next show at Lawry's will be coming up in February, 2018.

Looking for some ideas for our anniversary when I found Play Playground at the Luxor. This was…read moreright up our alley because it fell on a Saturday this year (lucky for us, because my LTP is currently busy with school and work during the week). The last time our anniversary fell on a Saturday, it was in 2020 and we literally couldn't do anything due to COVID restrictions, so this one was extra special for us. We marked seven years of dating on 7/18/26! I had a pretty good childhood, back when there was no such thing as smartphones, VR, and AI, and Play Playground allowed us to play like a kid again. This is a family friendly place during the day, but they implement it to 21+ only after 7:00pm and 13+ only after 6:00pm when accompanied by an adult. Make sure to sign the waiver online and forward it to everyone in your party before arriving here to save time. You'll get plenty of playtime here; the entire thing lasts about 90 minutes, which includes Duck Duck Boom across from the main entrance. Once you enter, you check in and they will give you a lanyard that you can hook your play card on, which is extremely convenient. You will also be assigned a random name (I was "Neutral Guava and my LTP was "Pleased Hare") so that they appear on the scoreboard for each game. All games are worth 15 credits and many of them mirrored games we played when we were kids, such as Frolic (Simon Says), Perfect Popper (Perfection), and Rolla Derby (Skee Ball). Tic-tac-toe, Connect Four, and Jenga can be found at numerous tables as well. The Bullseye Bounce was one of my favorite games to play here, where I got to jump on a trampoline in a Velcroed suit and throw myself as high as possible onto a Velcroed target in three tries. There's also a bounce house maze in the very back, which was also fun to experience since I've been inside several bounce houses at birthday parties and other events when I was younger. Their cocktails are absolutely amazing, too. I got myself a Pop Rock Punch cocktail and my LTP got himself a Duck Duck Boom cocktail. The Pop Rock Punch came with a pack of Blue Raspberry pop rocks that I could add in myself (I did not choose this flavor specifically; it was selected at random). We got both of these in a 12oz cup. Being a Las Vegas resident of 25 years, I think this was the most fun I've ever had on The Strip thus far. Play Playground is a great place for any occasion.

Trust me the games are super fun and most of them you will try to beat your score playing multiple times. The vip also comes with one cocktail and swag bag. We had lots of fun and we be back to try and get higher scores. The staff here are super helpful and offer up lots of help with games some are challenging. We truly enjoy escape rooms that have great technology and puzzles involved in it rather than just locks and keys, even though those can be fun also. From the very minute you enter the door, all the way until you exit, you'll be entertained with the variety of puzzles and ambiance that this place provides. Definitely one of the best in Vegas. The only bad thing about this place is that there isn't enough escape rooms! But maybe we'd go back one day to just try it out again to see if we even remember anything. Definitely worth a try if you love escape rooms like we do.
