Happy hour at Nine Fine Irishmen: small plates of fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and more for $7 each -- and the portions are honest, not "small plate" small. Eat two and you've had dinner. Drinks are $5, and the limited menu is limited to exactly what you need: a properly poured pint of Guinness and a sweet little cocktail called the Celtic Breeze. In a town charging $15 for coffee, our whole dinner-and-drinks ran less than fast food. Then there's Tony behind the bar -- funny, pours a Guinness with actual respect for the ritual, and clearly loves his job, which in Vegas is rarer than a free parking spot. He turned a cheap happy hour into one of the best stops of our trip. We came to Vegas the same week we ate at one of the Strip's overhyped "experience" restaurants. This unassuming Irish pub beat it in every category that matters -- food, drinks, atmosphere, humanity -- at literally a tenth of the price. Nine Fine Irishmen has easily become one of our favorite stops in Las Vegas! We stumbled onto their happy hour Thursday with only about 10 minutes left, and it was so good that we actually changed our plans for Friday specifically so we could come back, eat, have drinks, and enjoy the patio. The happy hour is one of the best we've found in Vegas. We tried the shepherd's pie, fish and chips, beer cheese and bread, sausage rolls, and pastrami sliders--and everything was amazing. Pair that with a pint of Guinness, a shot of Jameson, or their happy hour punch drink, and it's an incredible deal for the quality of the food and the experience. But the service is what really made this place stand out. Tony has been fantastic. Attentive, funny, welcoming, and he has some seriously great Guinness-pouring skills--the man knows how to pour a proper pint! He took such good care of us that we made a point of spending time here every day of our trip. In fact, I'm writing this review while we're sitting on the Nine Fine Irishmen patio before leaving Vegas, and Tony is our server again! My husband is having the American breakfast, and I'm getting the shepherd's pie because... YUM. The amazing food and service we experienced during happy hour brought us back today, and we're happily paying full price for lunch because there was nowhere else we'd rather eat before leaving Vegas. The NFI burger is not huge but it is still very, very good. The Kilkenny beer is also still excellent and they even make a mean Snakebite, although, oddly, it is not on the drink menu. The worst customer service ever! I understand there was the FIFA game, however, customer service should have been better, not worse. Our experience has solely to do with the hostesses at the front. We had reservations for 1:45, but had arrived early and so was added to the waitlist. She was very rude and said it would be an hour, which was still before our reservation so we were ok with that. We ended up waiting 90 minutes with no word from her and it was close to our original reservation so we headed back over. This time she was even ruder. She said that no one was leaving and that we would not be able to get in today at all. I asked her about my reservation and she said that the reservation didn't matter, we would not be able to get in at all. She was mad that we even asked. I did question why they were taking reservations if they were not honoring them and why did she have us wait (almost two hours by now) if she had no intention of ever seating us. She was angry and said no one was leaving and there were no table available. You could see tables but it appeared there just wasn't enough staff to handle the crowd. We left and headed to one of our favorite dining places as we were starving by now and very disappointed because we were really looking forward to dining at this establishment. Shortly after we arrived at Humo's, I received a text message that our table was ready and to head in. This was about 20 minutes after our conversation with the hostess. I am greatly disappointed that we were not able to try their food, but the customer service was so incredibly bad we would never recommend this place. Two hours for nothing was a huge waste of time. Just be honest and shut down reservations. Incidentally, my husband also received a text shortly after mine saying his table was also ready (his name was on the waitlist for the hour). read more

This pub is an absolute gem. It is lively and so fun to hang out in. It's definitely popping both times I stopped by. You can enter through the outdoor area or from inside New York New York. Most people have a beer but I opted for a cocktail to minimize the beer bloating this particular night. I tried the Orange Cosmo and it was so good. The bartender was so generous with the Jameson Orange whiskey and Cointreau! Very refreshing and buzzy, very easy to drink. This night they had a live band and a surprise tap dancer on the table! Stop letting your front of house be rude and blatantly ignore customers. Profiling and being rude. Ignored repeatedly by three front of house bartenders, not even a greeting or "I'll be right with you". Helping 6 people who came in after me before me. More concerned about hiding the left over liquor from a guest's flight than greeting their new guest. Just bragging about how much they made and haven't said more to me than do you know what you want. Left every dirty empty glass and plate in front of me but didn't do so for the couple next to me when they finished before me. And the food was sort of sad. One and a half boiled egg with only one having the actual curry that was in the description and the sausage rolls the sausage was scalding and the pastry was cold. First pub I ever couldn't wait to leave. And I'm half Irish third generation. Run to RiRa for better food and overall experience. Nine Fine Irishmen recently renovated their patio, and was running some specials during October so we decided to make a visit and see what it was all about. Because Yelp does not offer fractional stars, I'd give this a 3.75. First, the outdoor patio only has about 20 tables and about 15-20 seats at the bar so it's not a huge space but when the weather is nice it's not a bad place to be. Certainly better than sitting inside the smoky casino. Food was decent, we ordered off the special menu so the portions were slightly smaller than usual. The star of the items we tried was the Fish n Chips, they were quite crispy and the batter was thin enough that you actually had a decent amount of fish underneath. The beer cheese was a let-down; like a lot of cheese dips it started congealing after a few minutes. Pastrami sliders were middle of the road, nothing spectacular, but not bad. Food came out lukewarm and took longer than expected. Service was okay. The special that they were running was stated as " $7 bar bites and $5 beverages (available on the outdoor patio only)" but the waitress made a big stink about this stating that the bar bites were for the patio bar only not for tables on the patio, even after I showed her the MGM press release. She did all she could to avoid giving us the discount until we pressed more. It was never stated that we had to physically sit at the bar anywhere in the release. She kept rambling on about random people asking for discounts that she wouldn't honor, likely in hopes we would give up. It's a serviceable spot with Guinness on draft, but I'd much rather walk a little further to RiRa if I wanted a great Irish pub on the strip. read more

Nine fine Irishmen was a fun Irish themed bar inside NYNY. We stopped by on our way out after dinner to get some Irish coffees before heading back to our hotel to hang out. It was surprisingly packed in here but we managed to find four seats at the bar. The bartender was helpful and friendly, and chatted with us for a while. The smell of cigarettes also doesn't seem to get all the way up to the bar area here, which is a floor or two up (staircase inside the restaurant. I personally really appreciated that because I hate the smell of cigarettes and they make me sick! Overall this is a nice place to get a coffee or drink and spend some time/sit if you need a break while wandering around hotels or on the strip. read more

We came here on a whim and kept on coming back on a love for the food and the Irish car bombs. Usually I expect those drinks to hit hard as we usually goad each other into taking these shots, but we had one of the tastiest versions here. I don't know if it's what they use in it, or the way they craft it but 10/10 we kept coming back for them! The bar tenders that helped us were always great and the upstairs bar area became our favorite hideout away front the strip. We ordered the Irish deviled eggs. Sooooo delicious. Best I've ever had, even better than the traditional version of deviled eggs. 3 halves with curry, 3 halves with bacon. YUMMMM!!!!! My mom slipped the waitress a note that it was our anniversary, waitress came over and asked how everything was tasting, and then asked me if I drink alcohol. I said yes. She said ok, and offered to bring us a shot, a Baby Guinness shot. She came back with 2 shots of Baby Guinness, on the house. OMG, best shot ever!!!! 1/2 Guinness stout and 1/2 Tia Maria. Just dined here, our 'server' bartender whoever he was took our order and never came back. Once we were finished dining he returned. As a career bartender I gave him honest feedback, he blamed his 'mentor' for distracting him, never apologized. As traveling guests maybe our business isn't wanted but we will not return. We had eaten here several years ago, my wife had the chicken pot pie and thought it was amazing. In Las Vegas again 7 years later, had to try it again. Wife got the Chicken Pot Pie, I got the Shepherds Pie, brother in law got the Pastrami Sandwich, Sister in law the Fish and Chips. All were Excellent! Brother in law thought that was the best Pastrami he had ever had, and after getting a bite of it I felt the same. Enjoyed it so much we went back the next day. 2 Pastrami Sandwiches and 2 orders Fish and Chips. Was still really good but didn't seem quite as good as the day before. We went with some standard fare: burgers and fish & chips. Both were decent enough. Fish came out well cooked and the fries were very good. Coworker enjoyed their burger and fries as well. Bartender even produced malt vinegar without being asked. Drinks were served on those skinny club glasses- I personally hate those. I do not mind paying for a decent drink and these were just meh. The outdoor area was definitely a nice touch and we hit it at the right time as it was shady and comfortable. Overall, a very solid spot to grab a quick bite. I'd skip for cocktails. Best onion rings I had ever had!! This spot really exceeded my expectations! What I imagined would be pretty average bar food alongside some great beer and whisky choices ended up being one of my favorite meals this trip to Vegas! We both enjoyed draft beers and the pours were excellent. Service was exceptional! She did a great job of checking in on us, but giving us space to relax and enjoy. Not once did I feel rushed to order or leave, and she was always nearby if we needed a refill. We came in on a Sunday afternoon thinking it would be packed, but it was surprisingly pretty chill. We didn't even have to wait for a table. Food was so dang good! At our server's recommendation, we started with the Drunken Onion Rings. Oh boy! These were top notch onion rings, and truly the best I've ever had! The batter-to-onion ratio was perfect, and the batter itself was very good! Fried but not oily, these were crispy and tasted so good. They came with a spicy mustard sauce that was also very good. We also ordered the Pastrami Sandwich and that was excellent! Really quality ingredients, lots of flavor, and a big portion ideal for splitting.
