Don't be put off by the look of business sign (needs some sprucing up) or the exterior as the stylists inside are wonderful, professional and talented group, many have been there for years. I personally go to Becky Ange and from the 1st visit years ago to today, she listens, knows how you look when you walk in & works with you & what you want, either a huge change or keep what you have, but just improve it. My hair always looks beautiful and I always leave feeling so good about myself. I went back to her today as I was tired of cutting it myself & my attempt to find someone closer to home did not work out well & I desperately needed her & ONLY her to fix a bad haircut. I am in the process of moving, so decided to check out Salon 16 because I was in desperate need of a highlight and hair cut. I was very skeptical and apprehensive in having someone else do my hair, as mentioned I've been seeing the same woman for years. I am also very particular about my blonde hair, the toning/conditioning treatment, and all the fine toothing things that comes with bright blonde hair. I read amazing reviews about Salon 16 online and they were spot on. First off-Stephanie is amazing. Not just an amazing hair stylist, but incredibly friendly and personable; I really enjoyed talking with her for a couple of hours. I told her exactly what I wanted and she delivered! I had just about a full highlight, rounded long layer cut, toner, and a conditioning treatment. My hair came out absolutely beautiful and healthy. No brass, no yellow, no damage, and no over processing. It's really just perfect. Again, this was the first person to touch my hair aside from my normal hair dresser and I was blown away. The best part? It was leas than half of what I paid in Richmond. Normally I get the same services for a little over $400 with tip. $190 at Salon 16 and just a fantastic of a job. I walked in the door and was greeted by a young sales associate who asked me if they could help me find anything. I pulled up a picture of exactly what I was looking for and I had already done my due diligence and researched that ulta did in fact carry the product. He looks for a second and assured me that this location does not carry the brand design essentials at all. I almost walked out but decided to look around myself since I did go out of my way and I really needed this product or something similar. I walk to the back and find hair care products that look like they cater to black women and amazingly there is an entire section of Design Essentials. I quickly locate the product I needed and headed to check out. After arriving at the checkout I am instructed to put in my phone number. I inform the young lady I have never purchased anything from Ulta and did not have a rewards membership. She asked if I would like to sign up and I declined. She then informed me that I could not make any returns without being a rewards member. Overall I was more annoyed with the policy and the lack of knowledge of the sales associate. I'd rather someone admit they don't know or ask for help than just confidently tell me their store doesn't carry the very product I found a whole display of.
