I checked my husband and myself in on line for the Port Charlotte Great Clips on Jo Elbean Road. We arrived a little bit early. We only had to wait a couple of minutes. Jasmine cut my hair. She did a beautiful job. I was very impressed! My husband told me that he usually has Jasmine. He's always very satisfied with the cut. I took my Grandma who is visiting me here today for a trim. It was our first time here and everyone was really nice. The woman who cut her hair was very kind and understood that she needed help in and out of the chair because my Grandma is older, almost 95! The prices here were super cheap. I think they only charged 20 dollars. A great deal! The appointment was super fast, we were able to walk right in and we were taken care of within minutes with no appointment. The service was fast too. They washed and cut her hair all in under half an hour. If you are an older person who needs to be taken care of with care I would highly recommend them! read more

I should have listened to the reviews I read about this place, but I thought I'd give it a chance. That was my mistake, I told the lady what I wanted and showed her a picture, but she cut WAY more than I asked, probably 3 or 4 inches more and on top of that there's uneven parts. SHAMPOO/BLOW DRY: $31 Very nice. I liked the atmosphere the hair stylists were laughing and just throwing good vibe I liked it. I like my hair. Miss one star because of the shampoo part that could be more comfortable, the experience overall for shampoo could be better! I'm not very picky about haircuts, so I've never had a problem with going to Great Clips for a quick trim. I can no longer justify that after the worst experience I've had. To be fair, I was a little thrown off by the COVID experience/precautions, so I didnt speak up for myself the way I normally would. But I was never once asked what I envisioned for my hair. The stylist asked me what length I wanted; she had an issue when I said I wanted it to be clavicle length so I said I was okay with it going a little past the shoulder. She then spent fewer than 10 minutes chopping off my long locks. When she got a mirror to show me the back I thought she was just confirming the length before adding layers, so I said it was fine. Then she whisked off the cape and charged me $17 for turning my hair into a poofy broom. I just paid and left because I was so embarrassed. I honestly dont know if she thought it looked good, thought I was too dumb to notice she just cut it straight across without amy layering at all, or if she just really doesnt understand hair. I went home and cried a little bit and then had my husband - who has no experience at all - help me balance it out in the backyard with household scissors to at least make it wearable. I learned my lesson and I'm done with budget haircuts forever. read more

I've never been here and decided to go in for a quick cut. This place should be shut down. I honestly don't even know how a place like this stays in business. They're not hairstylists, they're grass cutters. Imagine a 5 year old cutting your grass, that's what my hair looks like. If this is the Great Clips on Northwest Highway off of Midway only pay cash. They have a confusing credit card system that prompts you to enter a new amount when tipping. I reentered the amount plus tip. This apparently is not a "new" amount it is the tip. Later that same day I paid for a friends hair cut and did the same thing. The attendant politely told me I made a mistake. When she did it made me realize why the first attendant didn't give me the receipt. Kudos to the second attendant for being honest shame on Great Clips for their poorly designed payment system. This is how it posted to my account. First time going to Great Clips. I waited less than 15 minutes and the hair dresser did a wonderful job on my hair! She cut off about 6 inches and did layers that blended together so well. Not really sure what just happened other than the ONE rude stylist in there. Walked in and a nice lady was cutting someone's hair and welcomed me in and asked if we checked in online. I said no and the other male stylist came over and said "phone number..." Gave him my number and then was followed up by "been here before?" I said no, he said my partners name but I explained that I had not been there before. He scoffed and said well which one of you is getting a haircut...I explained it was me. He said have a seat. I asked if he knew about how long to which I received an eye roll and a very frustrated response of I don't know maybe 20 minutes or something I don't know. Ok that's fine but the rudeness is not necessary. My advice to this great clips is if you hate your job that much move on. No one wants their hair cut by a crabby stylist. And if you get upset that you have to multi task you should tell your salon owner to hire a receptionist to handle the incoming customers. If I could post zero stars I would. Your business won't stay open long if you hire people like this guy who was obviously too busy to help someone. read more

A few minutes ago I went to this location we've been going for several years the stylist at the counter asked do I want to buy their prepaid card 5 to 5 visits for $54 I said may I use this card today because we will be getting three haircuts today and that will leave two left over for the spring I was not reading the advertisement but the young lady helping us said yes you can use the card today if you purchase it so after two haircuts because my third daughter it was still a class I went to check out it was another person checking me out not the original person and she said My bill was $30 and that I could not use my prepaid card today the advertisement and special is on your next visit only so I said that girl over there and pointed to someone cutting a person's hair she was the one who told me specifically that I could still use it today so the manager asked and hairstylist and she lied and said no I never said that I said you could use it next time so I silently paid the $30 plus I already paid 54 so two haircuts today cost me $84 but then I did not leave a tip and as I exited I said I will not be coming to this location again because you lied read more

This place is actual garbage. I walk in, they choose NOT to serve me even though I was clearly on the tip of the list, then after waiting for about 30 minutes, I politely ask one of these "barbers" (if you can even call these people barbers), "excuse me, could I have an estimated amount of time before someone is available to cut my hair?" She gives me a nasty look, then tells me to continue to waiting there (I ended up sitting there for another 15 minutes). The haircut was okay, but these people need to fix up service before they do anything else, or at the very least treat their customers with a little bit of decency!! I'd recommend another place. These people REALLY favor customers who've been there for a long time, and they will allow these long time customers to literally cut in front of you, just because they're so biased towards them.
