Often I login to the website and put myself on the waiting list, then when I arrive 5-10 minutes later there is a very short wait, if any. My haircut preferences are saved in their system, so any of the ladies cuts it just right without having to explain it each time. In the past I always had a specific person but that was inconvenient if that person was fully booked, sick, traveling, etc. So with this salon, they are ALL good, and it hasn't mattered which person was available I always leave with a great cut. Really messed up my hair. When you ask for an inch, just buzz your hair at this point dude. Asked for a taper, and they didn't blend the hair in at all. They're rushed employees just wanting customer after the next. I asked if they can blend it more and she said "I don't know what else I can do." Like a fckin Ai . If you're looking for a sharper cut, even the barber school here in Gilroy is better than this, they got better styles and better cuts. I came in last night and the lady who cut my hair was horrible. I asked clearly and pointed out a mistake she made and she didn't fix anything. she would sigh which made me feel like she made a mistake. and missed large chunks of hair in the back of my head. I don't understand how someone can study cosmetology and not see that what should be a smooth U shaped drop fade shouldn't look like theres a blade popping out on the side. incredibly poor service. and this isn't the first time. also a little tip for people who are cutting here. men don't want there hair in the front cut straight with scissors. maybe boys do but not men. it looks fake, it looks cheap so please stop. read more

I brought my daughters to this location and the estimated wait time was 15mins. Didn't look like it upon arrival but I was definitely wrong. I called to find out today if they have started washing peoples hair before they cut it. I was informed that they still are not offering that service. While all the other salons offer shampoo and a blow dry after you have your haircut this location is still not offering that service. Who wants to have their haircut dry. I certainly don't. I feel like it's necessary to judge a place based on what I would expect from it. From a Great Clips I'd expect a cheap quick haircut with a short wait. This place delivers all of those things. They have notes in their computer for your specific cut. Forget what number you get on the sides, they've got you covered. I try to get the same lady every time, I should really learn her name, but she remembers me which is a huge plus. I've been happy with the haircuts I've gotten there, and they make sure to show me the back of my hair every time, so I know I look good from every angle. Decent place for kids. Check-in online and the wait is next to nothing. Customer service is a hit or miss, sometimes really good and friendly and others - well, no comment. My son, who's starting to voice his opinion a lot more these days can now ask for a specific person to cut his hair, which I do appreciate. After all, a good haircut seems to boost his self confidence. I like how they save the "cut" information in their system or can modify and make notes. Example: "#1 fade on the side, trim on top and tapper the bangs." So that way, they know what the customer likes and/or adjustments can be made. Raised their prices to $16 which is not bad for a good mens' haircut, but these haircuts are not that great..even a trim is $16. I asked for a basic undercut, a #1 tapered from the top and they did not do well on the back... Again I know it's relatively cheap compared to other salons and high end barbers but considering "Magic Barber" spends about 30 minutes, pulls out the single blade, and really shapes you up for $10 these stylists need to step it up. Some positive aspects are the lack of a wait... I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. It's also handy that they write the particulars of your haircut into the computer so that they remember for next time. This place will do in a pinch, but the stylists don't seem to be able to handle more than a basic boy cut or buzz. Raising the prices by $2 is also pretty unacceptable.. if you have the time to kill, go to Magic Barber a little further east on First Street. read more

Terrible. First, the staff is rude. I walked up to the counter and the woman there says "yea, what you like?" that should have been enough for me to just walk out. I said i wanted a haircut. She took down my info and without saying a word, walked to a back room. I was the only customer there. Another woman later came out and cut my hair. I specifically asked her to just trim a little off the sides and back. But she cut half my hair off. And the cut was uneven. Just terrible. Great cut today... Arrived after work and there was no wait. Very polite gal who checked me in, also cut my hair. She took her time, and I didn't feel like she was rushing just to move on the the next person in line, as two other folks came in after me. She (hate to admit that I didn't get her name) listened to what I asked for and frequently checked with me to ask if cutting more length off would be ok or if the layering was enough. I was on my way in about a half hour, feeling so much lighter, thanks to those amazing thinning shears. I would have liked if she finished the blow dry style so i could really see the final result, so I wound up going home, rather than finish my errands with damp, unstyled hair. I've asked for them to do that before, and they never do it completely. Must be company policy to just cut hair, towel dry and pop you on the conveyer belt out the door, and for the inexpensive cut, I can kind of understand that.
