This is the last straw! Those lazy incompetent barbers mess up my hair not one's not twice but three times. They make me look half bald on three different occasions it's not like there even new workers they should know how I like my haircut at this point! Chopped off like 5 inches when I was looking for a trim/clean up and made it literally two distinct lengths. I love great clips but go to Ferndale, this is a joke in such a nice area you'd expect a completely different experience. Also took over an hour for the worst hair cut I've ever had. read more

My son received the worst haircut I have ever seen. Truly unbelievable. I was in touch with the owner, she wanted some information and said she would talk to the stylist who Made the disaster. Not nearly enough. We had to pay for a second cut to correct the first. Having to pay for the first cut does not sit well with me at all. My two boys will never get a cut there again. read more

I wish I could post a picture with this review because OMG. I went for a bang trim again today. This time I got Adrienne. It seemed like she hated me from the second I walked in and did this awful chop job out of spite. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. She saturated my bangs with a spray bottle before doing anything. I've never had a stylist wet my bangs before trimming them, it's normally done dry. Once she finished, she asked if they looked ok. It was hard to tell because they were wet, but I've never had a huge problem with a simple bang trim so I trusted they were fine. I left with wet bangs. When I got home and combed them straight, I got a good shock. My bangs were all sorts of different lengths. It looked like a kindergartner cut them. Just awful. Can't believe I paid to look so ridiculous. It was funny, really. Made for a good Instagram post-Some comments from friends included: " I could've done that for free", "But it's soooo close to straight hahaha", "What did you pay for that? you should've gotten your money back" I fixed them myself. I guess this experience is what it took for me to realize my own talent and I'll trim my bangs myself from now on. read more

It looks like there are only two stylists working there now and, honestly, I think it's because a ton of people request Gina. Ha! The last time we went, I switched up the cut for both my boys. I'll attach a picture. Gina was pumped to do the cut and she did an amazing job on both my boys. Even my oldest loves his cut now (he felt uncomfortable at first with a new cut). After reading all of the other reviews, it looks like all the negative ones were about the same horrible stylist I had before. I wanted to get back on here and reassure everyone that there are good stylists here. Just call ahead and ask if Gina is there and check yourself in online. I've been growing my hair out for over a year, and it was past due time to get the ends trimmed and straightened. I've spent my fair share of money at hair salons over the years, but I just couldn't stomach the thought of a $45 bill to get an inch and a half cut off the bottom of my hair. While driving by, I stopped on a whim and I did a walk in here and asked one of the hairdressers if she could trim my hair. I neglected to get her name. Oops. I had just washed my hair, so I told her to just spritz it down before trimming it and she did. My hair came out fine, it looks freshened up, and all the split ends are banished. I can't vouch for how good a haircut would be if you wanted something more complicated or fancy, but for a straight forward trim it was fine. It was only $13, so I tipped her $4 and still felt way ahead of the game. read more

Great clips is greatly convenient. Always go in without an appointment on a weekday and never a wait. You get a no nonsense haircut from somewhat, kinda talented staff for pretty cheap and you leave. If the haircut is imperfect, well, IT GROWS BACK. I am a married, middle aged man with currently greater priorities than looking like a fashon model or scoring with the broads. I do not need witty manly conversation from my barbershop- brief, dull formality is fine and in this aspect Great Clips will certainly not disappoint. I just need a haircut, not a social outing. Worst customer service ever! My 6 yr old need to use the bath room before getting his hair cut, but they would not let him use it. They are calming company policy now. He had to go so bad. I had to pick him and run with down a block to a local Kroger so he could use a bathroom. What ridiculous policy they have not letting a little boy use their bathroom. Had one of my best experiences at this location this afternoon! I had not been in for a hair cut since last December with Covid shutting everyone's doors I had to resort to my wife to do some trimming on my hair to keep me going until today. I was greeted by Abby and she knew exactly what I needed for my long wavy hair. I explained to her what I wanted and she did a great job. I was so sad to learn that Abby's last day is tomorrow, she moving on, along with Gina now. It's terribly unfortunate, seems every time I find a stylist that I can trust they are leaving. Come on great clips get it together! A good haircut outweighs convenience, or for me anyway. Maybe my last visit unless I can get Ashley to cut my hair until early she leaves next. Laura and a coworker found one in the back storage. When I returned home, there was a voicemail on my home phone instructing me on how to best use the spray. Cut depends on stylist, we've had good and horrible experiences with our boys. It's also frustrating that when busy, stylists don't seem to care. Talking to each other and talking to customers while client is just sitting in the chair waiting for cut to be finished. So, your estimated time when checking in online may actually be longer during busy times. read more

Who knew we had a butcher in the Village. Went here with my son as an absolute last resort. Huge mistake. My son was given one of the all-time worst haircuts ever. On top of that his ear someone got cut and was bleeding as he walked out. We are now taking him to his regular barber (who was unfortunately out the day we went to see him) to get him his first buzz cut since there is no hope in fixing the tragedy this woman bestowed upon him. Abby did a wonderful job! My son got a bad haircut from his dad and was really upset about it and really nervous to even let someone try to fix it. Abby explained exactly what she would have to do to fix it and waited patiently while he decided if wanted to let her try. He went for it in the end and walked out with a great looking cut! DO NOT GO HERE. Had my haircut here yesterday, simple buzz cut, the stylist proceeds to tell me she wasn't comfortable with men's haircuts and hasn't done very many of them...I should have left them and there. I asked for my neck line to be tapered down to the skin....she took the taper half way up the back of my head so I now have an unblended unfaded line that looks absolutely ridiculous. I'll never be back and if the franchisee is reading, I'd like my money back. read more

I went in for a haircut the other day. My hair was longish--about to the bottom of my collar and wanted just 1 to 1-1/2 inches taken off. Abby said she understood but she just kept clipping and clipping. I left with my hair so short I can't even use my medium circle brush on the sides and back! And one side is even shorter than the other. I will NOT go back....So be warned! I guess its true.....you get what you pay for. read more

I needed a haircut on the fly as I found out I have an event to attend at 4pm and good luck getting an appointment around here with a snap of the finger. I've been to Great Clips in the past and knowing Yelp like I do..haha don't get me started :) ~~ back to the review. I checked in online and like so many others based on the reviews asked for Gina. When I arrived I was greeted by a very polite young man who said Gina was out for lunch and that all of the stylists would take just as good care of me as she would AND still left it up to me if I wanted to wait for her I could. His name is Brees and I teased him and said if he allowed me to call him Gina I would happily have him cut my hair! He laughed and soon enough I was in his chair and not only did he have a great personality, he is an outstanding stylist. Very efficient and very precise and I honestly could not be happier. By the way, I did get to meet Gina, she is awesome as well and is running everything now. I really was impressed. Interestingly I learned that not one of the people negatively mentioned in previous reviews works there and some never worked there so I am suspecting some reviews were meant for another nearby Great Clips. Who knows. All's that I know is I had a way better than expected experience and my cut from Brees is better than many I have had where I have paid 3-4 times the amount. Ok, remember Brees! read more

As per other reviewers, my experience in this place depends on the stylist I get. I'm usually in a hurry, and this place is two blocks from my house, so it's super convenient. My first haircut was top notch. I wish I could remember the woman's name, but I don't even think she works there any more. I've had several different stylists, and the haircuts were always between "really good" and "pretty good." My recent haircut was a butcher job. It was a young, blonde stylist (again, didn't catch the name) and it's really weird because she gave me my previous haircut & did an o.k. job. But this time I was just looking for a trim. Wanted to keep most of the length of my hair & just get the ears, back cleaned up. She said "Well, you had a #4 last time. Why don't we do that!" The hair on top of my head is barely an inch in length. I essentially have something between a very uneven brush cut and a mohawk. They think that because they know which clipper guide they used the last time, that they can give you the same haircut. Not so! Listen to the customer! I'd put up a picture, but I'm too embarassed. Can't even go to a barber & get it fixed because there's not enough left. read more

I had the opportunity to compare 2 different hairstylist at the same time. I will go back to Adrienne in a heartbeat! She took her time and did a great job on my daughter's hair. Paula cut my hair and my other daughter's hair in the same amount of time that Adrienne took for one. I felt Paula could have cared less that she was working today and I could have cut my own hair and did just as a good job as her. read more
