I really like the way Great clips does business. When I'm ready to go in, I just go ahead and sign up online that day, go in before my appointment time and then the wait is short. I don't like having to make an appointment weeks in advance, I don't have the patience. I like that they don't wash your hair first because at other salons they use a shampoo that doesn't work with my hair so I'd rather just skip the whole thing. Also I don't like the blow drying at other places, it's just endless, it just goes on and on. Maybe it's to justify the high price they charge at other places. One stylist at another salon told me the constant blow drying was to see if my hair had just been cut evenly. For $65. No thanks. That's why Great Cuts really works for me. The cut without shampooing and blow drying works just great. Any one of their stylists do a really good job so I've been going there for a while and I'm going to continue doing it. read more

A crazy thing happened here today. I always use the check-in with the app. When I arrived I was told, your up next. There was a father there with a couple of kids that decided he wanted a haircut as well even though he hadn't checked in and the women haircutter there told he would have to wait since I was up next. The gentleman haircutter there finished up a customer and told me I was next. When he was done cleaning up, he took the gentleman who was told he would have to wait. I said nothing. The woman haircutter told me I was up next and i said, "I've heard that before". She then took me over to her chair and started an argument based on what I said. I told her that I was over all of that and I was ready for my haircut. She said, "I wonder if I want to cut your hair or not?" I told her that is completely up to you. She then said, "I don't think so". I left without comment. There is a silver lining to this story. I will never go back and I found the best barbershop in town I ended up going to MJ's Onestop Barbershop and getting a haircut by Katrina. My daughter was so embarrassed and in tears when she and I were questioned several times if she had pink eye which I vehemently refused. By the time we were asked a second time by another stylist, everyone in the waiting area heard. Oh, the mortification. When I denied the second time, she gave me no choice (she was ready to ask my 2 young daughters and I to leave) so I had to log into my daughter's PERSONAL medical record and show her the ophthalmologist visits made and the diagnosis. Again, no pink eye. I appreciate the stylist's apologies, her questioning me as she has a family to go home to, and safety precaution. However, the day was an embarrassment to us all. Pros: We loved our haircuts. Service was prompt. Online check always a plus. I've been coming to Great Clips for at least 10 years and love the affordability. My mom got her haircut here several times. I happened to be with her each time she came in. I was impressed with all of the stylists she's had, so I decided to get my own hair cut at Great Clips La Verne. I asked for a few inches to be taken off as well as adding some long layers. My stylist did exactly what I asked for. It doesn't matter who you get as your stylist. They all are great. How it works: *You don't call and make an appointment. Instead, you add your name to the waiting list on their website. You get an approximate wait time. This gives you time to run an errand or hang out at home before you head down. When it is 15 minutes until they can take you, they will send you a text. That is when you head down to the salon. I love this because I can go when it's convenient for me. I don't have to worry about a certain stylist's "availability." * It is only $22 for an woman's haircut ($18 for seniors). They do great work. I'm actually happier with my haircut here than I have been at salons where I've paid $55 and up. For example, many of the fancier salons have cut my hair too short. When I asked for it to be at my armpits they cut it above my shoulders. This was the first place that followed my directions. *You don't get a hair wash or blow dry with the $22 haircut but I'm happy with that because I always come in with clean hair anyway. I don't like taking the time to wash hair that's already clean. I don't like the blow dryer either. Many times it takes longer to blow dry your hair than it does just to get the haircut lol. I just want to get the haircut. I don't care about being offered a cappuccino either. No need to pay more for that. They have a great business model. I honestly don't like making appointments since the pandemic. Nor do I like waiting forever just to get a simple haircut. This works for me, so I will continue to come here. Tuesday, February 16, 2021. This place is really convenient for me so I've had a few haircuts here since my initial experience when they first opened (December 2018). The stylists (the last several times) have been great and did a good job and are much more confident in their haircutting abilities so I'm updating my review to give this Great Clips location in La Verne 5 stars. Amanda cut my hair today. She knew what she was doing and had a great personality as well. Not much more I can ask for than that. Keep employing the stylists that are good at what they do and I will continue to come here. read more

SHE MADE MY SON CRY. there is a very rude stylist that works there in the very front right chair. she did my sons hair under 5 minutes and did not blend it.it was clear that she was rushing me by her harassment of questions attempting to get me to speak faster. and also because of how quick she cut his hair. my son left the store and cried. even my son was upset by how his hair was cut. i was too stunned by the way she was treating us. i paid an ran out the door and proceeded to go to another place. when i showed her an inspo pic of how my son and i wanted his hair she insisted that it was a mullet and gave him a terrible mullet. we did not ask for a mullet. when we went to another barber they were shocked by his haircut and laughed hysterically that she called the inspo pic a mullet and then proceeded to give him one. it was extremely patchy with bald spots. do not go here and i genuinely don't think this the line of work for that stylist. if she couldn't be nice or cut his hair correctly. read more

I dont usually like to give bad reviews but I really had to state this. My bf went in for a cut and specifically asked for a fade on the sides whilst keeping his hair length on top. He even gave specific numbers for his cut. He came out really upset getting a full on buzz cut all around, plus a random line that was cut on the back of his head. He was trying to get a clean cut for a really important interview. I'm not sure if the woman that cut his hair was having a bad or just did not give an eff, but that was honestly disappointing. For anyone who has kids, knows how hard it can be to get them to sit still and not be afraid the clippers. With that being said, I have to say that this place has been a God-sent! I have 3 small children that are regulars here with Amanda. She has made them so comfortable here that when ever we pass by (and its in the same shopping center as Starbucks, so we pass by it often), the kids are asking to get a hair cut, at 3 years old! Came here a few days ago to get a haircut, and I didn't realize that school is back so the wait time was pretty crazy that day but I really only like this location so I decided to wait the two plus hours it was going to take to get me in, I guess it was my fault I lost track of time because I was a little late but managed to pull up right when the last kid was finishing paying with his dad for his haircut so technically they didn't have the doors closed so I was like shoot maybe they can still fit me in....NOT!! Not happy with the employees here the last time I came here I had a coupon to get an 8.99 haircut and I was excited to use... until my hairdresser wasn't there and so the manager Morgan decided she would take it upon herself to cut my hair, I was in need so I said eh....after my hair was done she acted like my coupon didn't work when it was brand new and the main reason why I went there to get it cut...
