The gals that cut the hair are pretty well trained and usually do a good job. but for a senior who does not have much hair they are done with me in about 12 minutes. they still charge $15 and then with a tip it's almost 20 bucks. I made a Yelp account specifically so that I could write this review. For some background, my name is Willie, but you can call me Willie P for short. I attend this Great Clips typically once a month and usually have a pretty good experience. Its not top notch by any means, but you get what you pay for. This time, however, I did not, in fact, get what I paid for. The name of the young lady who cut my hair escapes me, but let's just say, she's the kind of person you don't easily forget. I'm sure she has a very kind heart, but she should consider other lines of work. She did not cut my hair the way I wanted, and attempted to gaslight me into thinking that it was what I asked for and that I shouldn't have requested it. I look like Curious George if he were bisexual. Bicurious George. Tbh my relationship with Great Clips reminds me a lot of an abusive ex. my 17yo son, who has beautiful amazing hair worn long on top, goes in for the first time on his own, requests a trim no shorter than 3 inches on top and the woman carelessly and thoughtlessly takes it all off with the first pass of the clippers, leaving him with a butchered buzz cut. clearly the only cut she knows how to do. i don't know who in their right mind would see the style he walked in with, hear that he wants at least 3 inches on top and reach for the razor and give him that! on top of that he still left a tip because i reminded him too and we raise our children right. horrid experience that can not be made right and my family will never set foot in a great clips again. read more

I have been to the salon before. This was the first visit I was disappointed with the outcome. The stylist offered to tweak the cut to make it look better. It was only a marginal improvement. The salon keeps notes on how a customer had their hair cut on previous visits. I was disappointed that those notes and my communicating didn't produce a better look. I'm not sure if I will ask another stylist to fix the cut or if I will find another salon. The location is hours away from my house. read more

I will only give them one star because the lady at the front was kind but other then that absolutely not go back here! The lady who cut my 8 year old son hair obviously didn't have experience with young kids. She was very rough with his head. A young kid and an older adult man's head are different with skin and how hard you put the shaver to their heads! She was pushing hard against the back of his head with the shaver and then nicked his ear and it started to bleed! He tried to hold back the crying from the pain but couldn't and all she said was sorry and that he needed to sit still, when he wasn't even moving! Now my son is going to be scared of any stylist that comes to him with a shaver! If she has to push against a kids head to shave it, maybe she should check her blades and her rough hands too!!! This is the worst place to get your hair done in Lynchburg. (Paige) the stylist with the purple bob, did not listen to what I wanted. The hair was choppy and looked unfinished. It wasn't even and she complained the whole time. After asking if I wanted length taken off and saying no, she proceeded to tell me it needed to be done to which k said maybe an inch and no more, she showed me how much it would be and I agreed, when she pulled my hair behind my back she cut AT LEAST 4 inches off. She butchered it! I definitely will not be returning here. Worst experience in years. Save yourself the trouble and don't let Paige cut your hair!!! read more

What happened to respect in the work place? Witnessed one associate yelling at the other lady that always cuts my hair in front of everybody. It was very upsetting and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ... I choose her every time because she cuts my hair the best so I wasted my time today when I had an important meeting as well. And I'm sure other people weren't pleased to witness that either. I stopped in on my kid free weekend, to get my hair cut for the first time in a year. The girl with the short purple-bob made me stand up for the entire cut(which lasted all of 4 minutes ) and was trying to rush me out the door. I didn't get an up close look until later that evening when I got home. The cut was uneven, with several hairs 3 inches longer than the straight cut. I called in to talk to a manger, but was told that I couldn't talk to a manager, nor would one call me back. I fixed it myself since I've be cutting hair for years. Everyone who goes to GreatClips please give yourself a minute to read this: I been going to GreatClips for 5 years and never had any complaints but my last visit was extremely terrible. I went to GreatClips that is located on Simons Run in Ward Road Crossing. The lady's name was ------- who had a terrible and very unprofessional attitude. She also made some derogatory remarks when I told her that "might be due to my language barrier you are not understanding me" and when I told her you have the notes just do as is but she still went on to say I will cut your hair until you tell me. I was like it is on my notes just do that but she was still not cutting my hair and I felt like she is mocking me in front of everyone that "Look at this guy he is not able to tell me what is on his notes". Overall, I would never go to Wards Road Crossing GreatClips it was a terrible experience. In addition, everyone else who works in GreatClips locations is great. This is the first time I came across this kind of unprofessional employee who works at a very well-known place. Hopefully, employees who work in Simons Run's GreatClips need training in being professional and this review might help you guys to work on the skills that make you professional. Thanks read more

Perhaps the worst experience ever! I seem to always get someone who never "listens" to what I want. They just keep giving me the same military haircut no matter what I ask for. A truly terrible place with hairdressers that have 0 idea as to what they're doing. I have consistently left with the back of my neck scratched up, and most recently with a large red streak of irritated skin where a barber haphazardly dug a buzzer into my neck, for the last time. No haircut, let alone a simple fade, should leave a paying customer in pain. This is a regular danger for any customer who comes here - NOT just a chance of bad luck. Some might attempt to bare the pain for the cheap price, but my hairline was raised almost an inch when I asked to "fade it to skin", the hairline was obviously uneven, and the scratches left me hurting for a few days. First review of any kind I've ever written as this was the WORST haircut I've ever received, so bad my guess is maybe they were "pranking" me. I Am a 60 year old so I've gotten lots of haircuts in my life and this was so bad I've come close to just doing a buzz cut over my entire head and letting it grow out evenly. After two weeks it's starting to grow enough for me to go to another place for a possible semi-recover cut but my guess is for me to fully get back to normal it'll be another 4-6 weeks (it was THAT bad). Do NOT go to Graves Mill Great Clips regardless of how cheap it is. read more
