I've been to other Great Clips locations in different states. This was the first time in Houston. Tammy was my hair stylist today and everything went well. I checked in online which said the wait was 33 min. When I got there, they were ready to take me back. She asked what I like, I told here, had good dialogue, no problems. Men's haircut was $16. Today is Thursday on Oct 27. I walked into the Great Clip around 4:50pm. The haircut wasn't great. The service was HORRIBLE. The hairstylist lady gave me VERY BAD ATTITUDE since I walked-in until I got my haircut done. She never smiled or wanna talk . She was rude when I asked her question. Water got into my right ear because she sprayed my hair with water roughly . She cut my hair quickly in 10mins and didn't want to check on it. The reason I gave two stars because I came here twice. This place is more of a quick cut shop for men and boys or maybe women with short hair. The staff here was very disorganized and not really friendly. I came on a Saturday and it was packed. All I wanted was a shampoo and a quick blow out with round brush. I don't get how most people in the hair industry can't grasp how to blow out hair and make it smooth with a round brush! I know it can be done, I've had it done many times. I'm not sure if it's laziness or lack of skill but it's seriously annoying when people don't know how to use a round brush to do a simple blow out. This place is wayyyyyyyy too expensive for their services. Like I mentioned I just wanted a wash and blow out but the lady talked me into an end trim, so I said ok. She didn't seem to mind offering an end trim but when I commented that my hair wasn't blown out correctly and maybe she should use a flat iron (which I hate) to help smooth it out she said that will be an extra 20.00. I said I'm paying for a style already why would this be more. Clearly she didn't know how to use the flat iron or she would have done it! It would be great if we could get a decent blow dry bar in the Sugar Land / Mo City area. I can't imagine having hair stylists who can't blow dry hair and smooth it with a round brush - more training is needed here, better stylists and price consistency. I don't know if the stylist was high at 9am, but when the word "fade" comes out of your mouth, I don't think you're supposed to take the same length guard ALL over. A fade should have different lengths of hair all contrasted. If i wanted the same length all over, I would have done it myself at home. read more

Walking in I wasn't even greeted by the lady at the front desk like I normally am at any Great Clips location I visit no mater what state I'm in. The lady at the front didn't even ask if I've check in online or anything. If you ask me I think she was overwhelmed with the amount of people already there and people coming in the establishment. You can tell the lady had an attitude. When she asked me what I came in for I proceeded to tell her a hair wash. She asked me how long my hair was and if I needed a style. I said no, just a hair wash and finger blow dry (which is free) she then told me that they can't dry my hair all the way without charging me an extra $30. As confused as I was, thinking that every location was the same. She said that if I wanted a round brush dry or style she wound have to charge me an extra $30. I told her I just needed a wash and finger blow dry. This lady had a bad attitude. I don't know what crawled up her butt but this is clearly not good customer service. As I met my stylist, Keisha, who by the way was super nice and very friendly, she helped make a change in my mood about this particular location shift to the brighter side. Keisha was wonderful. She did a great job with my long hair and her scalp massage game is on point!!! LOL! While I was talking with her I found out that the lady in the front was in fact the manager. Tammy is her name. I couldn't believe that such a person in her position was so rude. Ugh!!! Anyway, Keisha did half way dry my hair and she did show concern for my shirt being a little damp which she did dry with her blow dryer. All in all I rate this place a two stars. The people who work there seem nice but the manager should have better customer service and show show a better example for her co-workers that maybe one day they would become manager...
