I recently visited the Great Clips location in Norcross after noticing it while shopping at Publix. Despite the salon being busy with customers, the wait time was impressively short. While I waited, I observed one of the stylists handling a child's haircut with remarkable patience and attention, even though the child was a bit fussy. As someone with curly hair--a challenge for many stylists--I felt fortunate to be paired with Sparkle. She was professional, skilled, and genuinely kind throughout my appointment, making me feel comfortable and valued as a client. She gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in years, using only scissors. I told her I'd definitely return for my next haircut. This place has gone downhill over the past month or so. The last 3 times I've gone in, the barbers are rude and the haircuts are terrible. The last time was the last straw for me. The woman cutting my hair was obviously in a bad mood. I politely asked her to square up the sides, and she said, "Ugh. After I put so much effort into rounding it out?" So much effort? It's a 10 minute haircut that I'm paying for, don't complain about customer requests. This fade looks like absolute garbage and the people there aren't even polite. If you come to this location, you're going to have to go somewhere else to get somebody to fix it, so you may as well just save your money and go somewhere else. I'll never go here again. read more

Everyone always sucks in there. I always get someone with mediocre skills and an attitude problem but the price is right sometimes

The price is great. I have had terrific haircuts at this shop. Both Zina and Kevin and the manager are wonderful. They have one stylist that is usually in the front on the right side. Once you get in her chair it is over, her eyes gaze over and the clippers begin, clipper stops second guard is put on the clippers. Now I ask you, how can there be hacks in my hair at this point. I already told her I comb my hair forward and up, I get a smile and half a bow, followed by a question "which way you part on?" Her idea of blending in mis-guided. Blending should stop on the sides not the cone of my head. Needless to say no more lady on the right. read more

Stay away. Amanda incredibly rude. Checked in customer in front of me, totally ignored me. Other stylist checked me in after I complained. Put on list, two people in front of me. 3rd customer comes in, gets taken before me, and other customer who had been here longer. Very unprofessional. Very disrespectful. I had been here in the past. I liked the people I had. Yet they tend to never be the same... I went in for a shampoo and cut on Friday. It was horrible. It was not a proper wash, my neck hurt, the back of my shirt was soaked, she kept combing my left ear (and it hurt!) over and over. She had me stand and moved the chair. What?! I have thin/fine hair. As in I can put it all in one clip. It was long. Not the was. I was going to try an actual style. I showed her a picture and asked if it would work with my hair. (In the past others here would look and say it was a cut for thicker hair or would affirm it would work - I always followed their advice) She used thinning sheers on me. Let that sink in. I already have thin hair. I clearly stated, multiple times, I want as little taken off as possible. I went in with hair well past mid-back. I left with thinned hair that is past my shoulders but not even close to mid-back. I cried in the parking lot. I f***ing hate it. My hair does not even fill a towel after I wash it now. read more

I went into to the Great Clips on Holcomb Bridge Road for a simple trim to my hair cut on 2/29/2020. The stylist, who also seemed to be the acting manager, butchered my hair. I came out with a buzz cut that will take weeks to regrow. She was very agressive and intimidating. She asked me what kind of wanted, spoutng a bunch of jargon I didn't understand. Then she went ahead and quickly shaved my hair with some monstrous clippers, even though I told her it was too short. She husteled me to the checkout counter saying, "that looks really good." Avoid this place and company at all cost. I should get a refund. But I know i won't. read more

Asked stylist to trim my ends a half inch. And wanted some simple bangs in the front. She proceeds only damping my hair slightly mind you I have 3c type hair and brushes it out to a puffy curly mess and then cuts almost 4 inches of my hair in the back off. Then she proceeds to try and layer my hair in the front. My hair was not in layers nor did I want them in layers and she had already begun the uneven cutting and I did not want her to cut any more off so I just left it as is. The bangs where cut unevenly and she told me they would look better once my hair got wet which they did not. I have never been more upset. 6 months of growth was cut off and now I can no longer wear my hair out naturally because it is a uneven mess. read more

Just got back from Great Clips and looked in the mirror. I noticed it and hoped my wife wouldn't and she did immediately! One side is considerable longer than the other! This is my third bad hair cut so sadly my last. I love the prices but hate the jobs they do. The fact that you can't rate the cutter (I can't say stylist as that would be insulting many true stylists) after you've made an on-line reservation should be a major red flag that they really don't care about quality! read more

The place is very clean and the staff super attentive, but my complaint is that they do not cut hair as you request it. I came here twice in the past two months with photographs of how I want my hair to look (and believe me, I wasn't asking for something outrageous or beyond my hair type) and in both times, I was given a completely different haircut. If they are unable to take requests, then why staff these stylists? They should do a review and retraining for their staff to correct this issue. However, they lost me as a customer. I don't have confidence in their stylists anymore to cut my hair, so I will take my business elsewhere. read more

My daughter stopped in for a "trim" today to cut off the dead ends. When it was finished, her hair was almost 4" shorter. The stylist cut off about an inch, which was fine, but then she realized it wasn't even, so she cut more and more until it was even. My daughter's hair is curly, so once it dried it was literally 4" shorter. And, her hair is still not even in the back. Her hair takes so long to grow, and it was finally at a length that she loved. What a huge disappointment. I know hair "will grow" but how do you make that kind of a mistake? read more

Run away! Unless you can see Dee or Janice (Janet?) or unless your pet groomer can't get you in, RUN AWAY! I have super fine, baby thin hair. It takes about 5 minutes to do what I want- trim the ends. This chick "Luce" that could not communicate with me, cut layers in my hair. Even after I told her NO LAYERS. Do you know how layers look on thin, fine hair? They make me look like I have NO HAIR. I asked for a trim with a little undercut in the back. She asked me "what is an undercut?" She also used oil, not water, to lay my hair down. Again, I ask, do you know anything about thin, fine hair? Never again, unless Dee is available! Please don't waste your time, nor money. I asked for an angled bob with layers, showed pictures, and the stylist cut my hair straight across, handed me the mirror to approve it, and when I pointed out that this was in no way what I asked for, said she would redo it. The second cut was shorter but still not a bob, still grossly uneven, and still no layers. She never found the mound and sectioned my hair which is first week school information! She didn't cut layers, she pulled my hair to the top , cut it, and claimed that was layers?! I've had cheap haircuts, expensive haircuts, and median haircuts, but I've never had a haircut this screwed up! She never cut the sides of my hair, the left side wasn't cut at all, and they are uneven. Even the back is chippy and uneven. I have zero doubt that this woman never attended any kind of formal training. I could have grabbed a crackhead off the street and had them watch YouTube videos and gotten a better haircut! Never going back here. Too bad, haircuts were decent, but customer service is horrible. At my last visit, after my haircut, I was informed that their credit card system was not working and I had to pay in cash. I don't carry much cash and only had $13 of the $15. the stylist first asked that I go to a Publix and use their ATM; no way I'm going to pay fees. Another one suggested I go to Publix and buy something with my debit card and get change. Seriously? Even if I carried a debit, rather than a plain old ATM, card you really expect me to go buy something to pay you? Ive already told them that I came there to get a haircut before a meeting and will drop the money of in the afternoon. So the stylist brings Pam (manager? owner?) into the conversation. First, she asks the stylist if I knew the credit card machine was broken before I got my haircut -- in my presence. (Yes, I go around consuming things at places where credit card systems are hopefully out, then try to get them for free; it's a living.) Then she wants me to leave my driver's license until I return with the money. "No," actually, 'hell no." She keeps telling me how the credit card system outage 'is not my fault' over and over. So naturally, it must be mine and she puts the onus on me to solve her problem. Anyway, I discovered there was a branch of my bank nearby, ran over there, picked up money and made it to my meeting -- and was pissed off all day because I hate losing a place that gives a decent haircut. No way I'd go back after Pam's shabby treatment. I feel really stupid now that I actually left the stylist a good tip, but I decided it really wasn't her I was mad at. So how could it have been handled? Many options to choose from besides telling me I had to leave them my ID or go buy something at Publix. (1) I'm in their system. they know where I live. Trust that I will return with the money after my meeting like I said I would. (2) take the $13 I had on me and eat the 2 bucks to engender customer loyalty (and prevent bad YELP reviews) -- or (3) trust that I'll pay the $2 balance later like I said I would Remember, you know where I live! And for pete's sake, don't ask a question that implies that I'm trying to steal from you when I'm standing right there. Unbelievable! read more

Disliked: Well, after leaving this location with another botched haircut, I decided to email GreatClips and let them know about my poor cut, and the last few I've had. After a few days, I got an email from the franchise owner. I would seriously think twice about going here if you're a prospective or current customer. The customer service must feed down from the top. Here's his response verbatim: "When receiving a customer complaint, normally, I'd type a short apology letter, send a free gift card, and forward your comments to my store managers and GM's. But after reading your email a few times, I felt compelled to research your complaint personally and try to figure out exactly what happened. You've been a loyal customer of our Norcross store for a several years. But you're telling me that on "all four" of your most recent visits we've "botched" your hair. Digging further, I see that on 3 of these 4 visits the stylist who "botched" your hair is the exact same stylist who satisfied you in prior visits. And I can say with confidence that the stylists in question are all top notch. Each has 15+ years of experience, and each only gets about 1 or 2 customer complaints per year. For three of our best stylists to have pleased you in prior visits but "butchered" you during your most recent visits implies that they've all simultaneously lost their cutting talents, that the customer is just looking for a free haircut, or that the customer simply cannot be satisfied. And concerning your final comment that I should "seriously, get (my) business together"... I'm sorry you're not a "satisfied customer". On the contrary, I'm happy that in spite of this horrid economy, my sales are up double digits again this year. I attribute that increase to the great caliber of stylists who I employ.
