I am someone that regularly gets a haircut on a monthly basis and have a few dedicated barbers that I normally frequent. However, I've been a fan of "Great Clips" as their stylists have always done a wonderful job to the many various locations. The one I am focusing on is one of their two locations in Rancho Cordova; this is at 2350 Sunrise Blvd. This particular Great Clips is in a fairly busy strip mall that neighbors "Chipotle", and "Pieology Pizzeria". Parking can get busy due to the vast amount of food establishments in the area. Since I work in Rancho Cordova, I arrived right after work at around 5:15pm. The best way to get yourself a stylist in a quick turnaround time is to check-in on the Great Clips mobile app. What makes this convenient is that is shows estimated times in all of the locations in a certain radius. But what really drew me into coming here is that I received a Facebook notification offering a discounted coupon of $12.99 for a haircut. Normally the charge is around $22.00 so this was a fairly decent price when major competitors and barbers charge in between $20-30. Once checking in, my stylist was able to seat me right away as there no other customers inside. What I particularly like about Great Clips is that no matter which location you visit, they keep a record of how exactly you would like your hair to be cut/styled. For me it is a low-fade 1/2" with a number 7 on top. My entire haircut only took about 15 minutes and I was done by 5:30pm. Best of all, they do accept cash, debit, credit, and Apple Pay/Google Pay. All in all, this was an above average experience. My stylist was non-talkative but in the past, I've gotten stylists that want to make conversation with you. I am a social person so if someone is in the mood to talk, I am all for it. To sum things up, the Rancho Cordova (Sunrise) "Great Clips" was bright, spacious, clean, and convenient. With that said and done, I am giving this location an above average four stars. read more

I take my grandson there & have always found the service to be outstanding, the cuts styled exactly to our specifics & every stylist friendly & confidently skilled. We've been doing walkin appts & as luck would have it [due to timing or not] the longest our wait time has been was 10 mins one visit & it's usually considerably less. Less than on star. The guy stylist in there does not listen; with his electric clipper, after hearing me say, "You remember me from last time, I'm the guy growing out my hair, the guy with green hair. I want long hair, I need the hair under the edges and the split ends cleaned up", ruined 6 months of me patiently waiting for growth, by putting his electric clipper to my hair above the ear effectively taking 3/4" of growth in less than a minute. Of course, the rest of my head then had to match. This was my second appointment with him. He suggested he remembered me from before. He either intentionally mislead me and did not remember me, or he's not competent enough a hair stylist to remember the wants and needs of his customers. I'm 65 years old, and trying, with no help from the male stylist at this shop, to grow out my hair. For the first time in 45 years I am letting my hair grow; I intend my hair to say something very specific about me. This morning, Great Clips at Sunrise and Coloma in Rancho Cordova, took that away from me. When finished, he comped the haircut, knowing he screwed up. They should give me free hair styling for a year to make up for what he took from me. If you value your long hair, I recommend that you don't get within a mile of this shop. Absolutely, stay away I'll never return. And I'll make sure the next stylist KNOWS what I want, what I need my hair to say about me, before I sit in their chair. My visit this morning was a terrible experience. Every time I've looked in the mirror since then, I have seen what I don't like (short hair), what I hoped I'd never see again. I am sure I'll experience the same reaction to myself in the mirror, at least well into the fall. Again, less than one star. Negative stars. read more

To the two ladies who saved my morning - you were WONDERFUL! I ran in there on my way to a wedding in Tahoe and asked said If we could do two quick appointments for my kids who were in the wedding. They knocked an hour off my morning which helped so incredibly much. I wish I could remember the names of the ladies, but the woman who cut and faded my son's hair took only 5 minutes to do and it came out wonderfully. He kept fussing with it and she even took him back 3 times to hair spray his hair some more so it would stay for our long trip while the other woman curled my daughters hair. The girl took only 20 min to curl and French braid her hair. I am so grateful for them. Thank you for making that day a little less stressful. Would recommend this particular spot to anyone. *edit - I saw in a previous post a photo of the lady who did my son's hair and it looks like her name might be Regan. This is a good place to go to, but once they cut my daughters hair and it was uneven, I still recommend coming here.

Hoped for a better cut. It wasn't busy and had very little conversation with the stylist.

I've been coming to get my haircut here with my entire family for some time and would estimate we have had at least fifty haircuts here in past five years. Nine out of ten times, the haircuts are excellent. Considering most chains struggle to find and keep good talent, I would argue this location is following a formula for success as most stylists have been fabulous. Five stars would have been justified for a 10/10, but hey, you get what you pay for and IMHO, this location is above average. read more

I am only giving a 2 star because yes they did a good job at trimming hair but they over charged. My 9 year old niece was just getting her hair trimmed and was charged for an adult haircut. We were told it was because they couldn't tell she was a child. My niece is not developed and wears kids clothes size 7/8. I don't understand how she could be confused as an adult. Bad exp my 17 year old went in for a hair cut I was at work, I came home and he was so upset the new gal Alicia of 3 months experience had chopped his hair off and ran through it with a lawn mower. Every time my family comes here they leave with uneven, choppy haircuts. One of the stylists had to come "fix" my daughter's hair after another stylist cut it into a mess. The girl cut my hair uneven. Highly dissatisfied and never ever paying for a cheap hair cut again :( I take pride and joy into my hair and it was finally the length I wanted it. Bad experience tonight at this location. I have been coming to this location for years. I take both of my sons who are both special needs. Tonight. My youngest felt uneasy with the woman who was going to cut his hair. The woman, after some minor chat with me regarding the style of my boys haircut proceeded to get frustrated as my son was a bit uneasy while sitting down at the station ready for his haircut. She got flustered at him and proceeded to tell me that she couldn't quite assure me she'd be able to cut his hair as he, a 4 year old autistic child, my son, was "not cooperating" according to her standards. I proceeded to tell her that my son was autistic and he would calm down in a minute. He wasn't screaming or crying. He simply wasn't comfortable right away and refused to sit on the kiddie booster. While I pulled my son off the the booster to talk to him the woman called the next person REFUSING to deal with my son and give him a haircut. My other son who is also special needs noticed this and knew his brother was refused a haircut. SAD SAD SAD excuse. I don't want you reprimanded, you know who you are. I just want you to know my sons are my world and I left your establishment sad that you refused to give my boy a haircut after I clearly said to you he was autistic. As we left the store my 4yr old kept saying he was ready for his turn, he cried as he was ready and was looking forward to his lollipop, but by then you had called someone else to your station , another kid who was a handful of years older than my kid. Thank you for exposing my oldest and my youngest to the kind of people that may look down on them for being special needs. I've given this place a few chances and each time they don't cut my hair how I want. I always get "oh let me try this, it'll look great", and its the opposite of what I've wanted. They try to do what they think will look good instead of listening to the customer. After my last hair cut I was so upset, I went back to have them fix it and it was made even worse. This location is clean. The wait is never long. Employees are nice and professional. The quality of cut is standard. I've had my 5 year old sons hair cut her 5+ times and never had any issues. And his hair is cut by a new person nearly every time. The prices are very affordable. They have tons of DumDums for the kids and a few toys and books for entertainment. If you're looking for a quick cut and aren't too picky- Great Clips is a good option. (I would not get my hair cut here but that's because I am psycho about who touches my hair) read more

Had fully intended to take Little Man to EJs Little People for his first cut, but by the time I got around to it, it was already their closing hours. Then i saw Great Clips, and thought to just ask if they cut hair on little 1 yr old rugrats. And they sure do. We got Alyssa who was very sweet, patient and did a perfect job. My daughter & I went in for haircuts-- I have short hair & my daughter likes her's long. We each had our own stylist. I was completely satisfied with my haircut-- I wear a punked out pixie. My daughter's haircut was also very good--not just a straight cut along the bottom but layered so that if your hair frizzes when it gets humid-- you don't wind up looking like pyramid head. I also like that the stylist asks how much you want cut off, etc. even though it's in the computer as somethings I like to change things up a bit. Over the past months when I go in no one is the same. Must be enormous turnover and not one that has cut my hair has any skills or what appears to be experience in men's haircuts. this is the first time I have ever given a 1 star review. I usually go out of my way to give a 2 star ratting and mention one positive thing. I can not do that in this case. I have been to this location several times as it is near my house and they do a decent cut for a fair price. This last time I went was the worst experience I have ever had at a retail or service establishment. I have never felt so disrespected or demeaned by an individual as this lady maybe me feel. If there is a hand book on deescalate a situation she did the exact opposite of everything she should have done. Mel here was absolutely amazing! I came in for a quick haircut and this was the nearest spot and I'm so glad I did! She was able to see me quickly and did my haircut just the way I wanted super clean and fast. she was also a real delight to talk to and made me feel comfortable in her chair considering it was my first time. This great clips need to get better stylist. They are rude and can not cut hair. I have had four different hair stylist and everyone can not cut hair. I leave with my hair all uneven.
