The 2 times that I've gotten a haircut here have been from two of their employees. They were both friendly and personable but completely messed up my hair where parts were uneven, not symmetrical and even jagged. The back of my head looked like they tried to do a really poor taper where it looked close to a bull cut while the sides and front were flush. I went in very clear about what I wanted -- face-framing angles that sat a couple of inches below my chin. I repeated this several times. On one side, the stylist did it correctly. On the other, she cut the front piece over four inches shorter than what I asked for, leaving me with blunt, uneven pieces that don't blend at all. When I complained, the explanation I got was that it was because of my curl pattern, but that doesn't make sense -- when the hair is pulled straight, it's still inches too short. That's not curls, that's a mistake. The "solution" offered was either to "correct" it (there isn't enough hair left to correct) or to come back for another haircut in 8 months once it grows out -- which is just ridiculous. I shouldn't have to wait almost a year to get the haircut I originally asked for. Bottom line: I left with a style I did not ask for, and no real accountability from the salon. read more

Don't bother checking in early online! The last three times I've went after checking in early and was made to wait after other people who were not checked in early or after me on the list. Today when checking in there were two customers ahead of me. When arriving at the location, customer A was not there but Customer B was. Customer B was taken care of first. By the time the next hair stylist was ready I had already been waiting inside for several minutes but customer A walked in just before they were ready and I was made to wait yet again. I needed a last-minute haircut for Christmas get-togethers... guess what, my regular hair parlor was packed and so were two or three other places I quickly drove to. But Great Clips said I'd have a reasonably short wait time so I tried it. (I'd never come here because I mentally lumped them in with all the other chain salons that offered low prices and mediocre haircuts. I've often had to argue with stylists to get the look I wanted, so I stuck with my regular place for many years.) It was my lucky day. Kitty listened carefully to my instructions, she knew exactly what I wanted, and she gave me a great military-style fade haircut which isn't always easy with my wavy, thinning hair. Plus I found out you can "get in line" at Great Clips ahead of time, with their free mobile app! It's a great time saver. Since then I've had my hair cut by many different folks at Rohnert Park Great Clips, and I was never once disappointed. Better yet, my wife likes the results too. Today Ally May cut my hair and once again, I got what I wanted for less than $25 including a nice tip. I hadn't realized that this Great Clips has been open for about a month now, what with the confusing Coronavirus situation. Today I went there and with the mobile app, my wait time was zero. When given gift card to pay for my boyfriend and my haircut she was trying to tell me I still owed $19 the manager had to come over and tell her that was my balance left on my card. Not gonna lie, I was a bit worried about coming in here after reading reviews and seeing photos. I've been here numerous times now with no issues, granted my hair cut is a really simple fade. So, yes I recommend coming in here for a fade. And I highly recommend checking in online (there's an app for that) I always check wait time and check in, get there when I get there and literally cut people "in-line" and the one time I forgot, I had to wait and see people come in after me and be seated before me, yep. If you're in a time crunch, or just don't want to sit around, check in online. And I often find coupons in the mail, which they accept (maybe take $1 off or something) expired coupons, so hold on to 'em! read more

Stay away from great clips in Rohnert park. I went to treat my sister to a haircut today, and an older woman with a red Bob cut named Kitty cut her hair. She wanted a slightly longer mohawk, to be worn down when it wasn't teased and hairsprayed up. Kitty cut her hair, we payed, we left. It looked fine at first due to the way it was flipped. When we got home and I really had a good look at it, I started to notice long tails hanging down the back, one side was a completely different length, it just looked awful, like a 5 year old hacked through it with safety scissors. I called and complained because my sister was in tears. Kitty agreed to "fix" the botched cut and refund the money. I insisted someone else would have to do it. Even though they agreed to "make it right" I couldn't let this go. I don't want anyone else to be subjected to this. So if you think you're going to save some money and get a "great" clip, don't. You'd be better off letting a dog with particularly sharp teeth chew on your hair for a while. read more

Rohnert Park Great Clips gets a 0 star rating! I took my daughter there yesterday and then I took her back today because they severely messed up her hair and she has picture day tomorrow. When I brought her back the one that cut her hair which is supervisor named Sonia messed it up more. Then she proceeded to tell my daughter and me we need to get out there's nothing else we can do and pushed us out the door. I tried to get back in just get my purse that was sitting on chair and she said I'm not allowed and I said my purse is there and she proceeded to put her hands on me and shove me several times. My daughter finally got in and got my purse but this stupid woman named Sonia it's supposed to be a supervisor but she ran after me to catch up and proceeded to put her finger and hand about half an inch from my face and I told her to not do that and she pushed me again as I was trying to go to my car. She scared the hell out of my young daughter and she's lucky that I didn't call the police on her because this is unacceptable and she should never be a supervisor! read more

I lived in Oregon for a year and paid $15 for a cut and style but knowing that Cali is more expensive I was fine with this place, $16 for a dry cut with no style. It's a walk in only business and I only waited 10 min but my cut lasted 5. I got 6 inches cut off and the lady cutting seriously pulled it back cut it and said I was done. No shaping it up or trimming up the other layers. I asked her questions and she couldn't answer them. She would just say "it's whatever you want." I can not remember her name but she was a Mexican lady. I'm gonna have to get it shaped up because the edges are so straight. I could have done the exact same thing at my house and I have no cosmetology training. I'd rather pay double the price and get someone who seems to know what they are doing. read more

She said "ok" and starting chopping INCHES off. I said shoulder length and my hair is now up to my ear...After cutting my hair, I was waiting for my boyfriend to finish up...and she came out with her tips. She stood there and counted them in front of another customer that could have been seated. He waited for another 10 minutes while she sat in the back doing whatever she was doing. Worst service ever! The wanna be haircutters or wanna be stylist who probably do not even have a real license should not be working on real people-practice on dummies...I feel like a dummy, went there for a "trim" and left with uneven cut into "layers" or whatever she thought was so fantastic on my long hair and "I think it looks perfect" haircut. She wouldn't talk to me unless I knew the hair terminology in her world nor an apology-just kept on with her incompetence on another sucker in the chair...And to her co-worker who I wasn't even talking to-stay out of it not your deal. One person checks in online, then brings a family of 6 children, ages 4-8, who can't quite decide on what "style" they want. Only two people working then spent 20 minutes trying to figure out where a missing receipt was, all the while customers are waiting. Just to clarify, this occured at 6PM on 1/15/19. The experience with the extremely rude, unprofessional women at this location was ridiculous. They destroyed my sons hair the day before Xmas eve. & stated they were happy & glad to take my money & make me pay for the most awful haircut that they know they did to my teen son. I asked the lady if there was a coupon I could use. She was rude as soon as she opened her mouth. She blamed my son for screwing up his hair. She said he could sit in her chair to fix it. He did not want to get back in the electric chair again for them to ruin even more. The women also refused to social distance & got about 1 foot away from me about to put her hands on me. Yes I was extremely irate when she came at with an attitude as soon as I walked in the door. They clearly have no customer service, whatsoever. The women that work there are very horrible people. Unfortunately, I did not get their names. Bottom line, if you do not know how to cut hair when it is specified what was to be done. Just admit you don't know how or can't do it. I've been getting my haircut here for two years and only once they got my simple haircut right. I only get a haircut 2-3 times a year so I have tolerance for bad haircut. A bad haircut here for me is like break-in period, I get the desired length that I want after a few weeks. When you tell them to not go cutting much on sides they cut anyway that I ended with a military clean cut instead of my desired short modern caesar cut/ styled to messy look. There are times I just wish for a shiny bald look. Oh! and showing an image of your desired haircut doesn't work. A simple haircut like that takes them 15 min. and no quality cut nor a hot towel after. I guess this is a $15 for 15 min. promo I'm getting. The worst place ever. Don't go here!!! So unprofessional! After asking for what I wanted, trim off dead ends, feather blend the front and all frizz cut off. The inexperienced stylist cut one side way, way shorter than the other, than what I asked for. She asked the Mgr to come over when I voiced my concern that she may be confused as to what I wanted. The Manager/owner proceeded to tell me what could and couldn't happen to fix the unevenness. I was unhappy with how short the one side was and voiced that I would like her to please fix it and even out both sides. I didn't appreciate the loud way this Mgr was aggressively speaking to me and trying to humiliate me in front of everyone as the whole salon could now hear our conversation. Her stylist seemed very, very inexperienced. I was not rude and only asked for it to be fixed.. The Mgr refused to fix my hair and told me too bad she wouldn't fix the unevenness, and said "Get the fuck out, too bad, you need to go somewhere else to have them fix it, this is my shop". As I was leaving, on the way out, her blonde, tattooed stylist said " Get the fuck out, figure out what you want bitch" This Owner has zero customer service skills when a customer is unhappy and her stylist made a mustake and her rude tatted employee should be fired for speaking to a customer that way! Great Clips Corporate should discipline her and her staff member. Great Clips...is this how you allow your franchisees to treat customers? Do not go here or bring your children here. I called Great Clips just to make sure that they would be able to cut my 14 year old daughter's hair as she's deaf without her Cochlear Implants in place. The person I spoke to on the phone (Brittany) assured me that it would be fine. When we arrived about 20 minutes later a woman (not Brittany) said she would be cutting her hair and I went over the type of cut, just a simple A-line. Shortly after this woman started cutting it was obvious that she was confused as to how to proceed and one of the other stylists came over to assist. Soon, another, older woman stepped in and proceeded "hold school" and finish the cut. Twice she started to let the first stylist back but changed her mind. The older woman seemed more experienced and apologized for the issues asking if she should part it in the middle and said the cuts are extremely difficult. As she said she was finished and removed the drape I could see that my daughter's hair was lopsided and had lines and clumps of longer hair. It is truly the worst hair cut I have ever seen! I quickly paid, left and immediately came home to find a real hair salon to fix this mess. I left a message with the corporate office and followed up with an email. We have found a salon to fix it tomorrow morning but I am so angry and disappointed with Great Clips! I can't believe this happened! How do these people get licensed to cut hair?
