I got a haircut with shampoo here about a month ago; it was my second time here. I believe the stylist who helped me was Erika. I walked in around 10am and was next in time. Erika was very patient and detailed. I told her the style and length that I wanted and she gave me exactly that. I thought it could be shorter after it's done; she offered to trim more with no hesitation. She was gentle when washing and drying my hair too. Definitely better than the last stylist; therefore, outcome depends on who you get. I remember last time (a long while ago), they had an iPad/tablet at the front for customer sign-ins. This time I had to scan their code and did it online by my phone. What if I didn't have my phone with me? I found this might be inconvenient for some. Walked in to get my toddler my toddler haircut. No line hairstylist refused to give my son a hair cut , said he was too young for a hair cut. I explained my son has been to a barber previously and sits still for haircuts. The staff then laughed and said well then go back to there. We won't cut his hair. It's one thing to say you're not comfortable cutting his hair but to laugh at customer and say go back there. This was my first and last experience with great clips. I guess even an experienced yelper like myself will somehow get their review taken off by this place if you tell the whole truth? Okay. So now it's 1 star instead of 2. The haircutter "Erika" does not know how to cut hair. She was rude in her comments and manners and offensive towards me, the customer. She gave me the ugliest haircut I've ever received, and that's saying a lot, because I've had quite a few butcher jobs done to my hair throughout the years. But this one is the worst. Over-priced unless you get a coupon. They will not blow-dry your hair for even 2 minutes but instead shoo you out the door with a wet head even when it's cold and rainy out. She threatened to charge me $50 for a "style" when I simply asked for her to blow dry my hair so I could see if she cut it right. How would I know the hair was cut correctly when they try to send you home looking like a wet rat? read more

I so wish I had the seen the reviews here before visiting this location. I've always had a good experience with great clips and that is what led me to this location without checking out the reviews. I took my father here to get his hair shorter, but the stylist(Julie) attending to him either failed to comprehend our request or she didn't even want to. Her behavior towards us felt biased ( we're brown) , she was not only rude but also impatient . She was getting frustrated whenever we asked for minor adjustments such as trimming from certain areas or making the hair slightly shorter. Never before had I encountered such unprofessional behavior. To make the feeling more worse, when I provided feedback about my dissatisfaction during the payment process, she reacted defensively and began to raise her voice, blaming us for repeatedly asking for changes to the haircut. Irrespective of color or how complex the request customer do deserve respect . The other stylist i overheard he name , i think Marie . She was also attending to a brown family but she as very calm n patient. Never once did she raise her voice when they were explaining their requests to her. Where as Julie gave a frustrated look and raised her voice many times while cutting my father's hair . I left salon with a very sour experience . Highly unprofessional!! I asked the stylist for a 1-inch trim and curtain bangs that went past my eyebrows. The person that took care of me was nice, but she did not give me what I asked for. She cut a lot more than one inch off my hair. After my bangs dried, they were well above my eyebrows. They look VERY funky. She told me that they would get longer in a couple weeks. I have been going to this location since they opened. However last night they gave me one of the worst cuts I ever had and it will be my last time going there. I saved $3 with a coupon but in the end it looks awful. I checked in online and it said it would be a 20 min wait. When I arrived I waited another 20 minutes. I was called up but I could barely understand the stylist and never understood her name. She said I know what you want from the paper. However I repeated what I wanted from the cut so it would be clear. I don't have a lot of hair on top but it's still full on the sides and back and I have a beard. To sum it up I asked for a number 2 clipper cut half way on the sides and back, blended with the top and to just trim off the long ends on top to even it out. I remarked at one point that a few hairs looked long and she just chopped the lock of hair off in one swoop. When she finished she showed me the haircut with the mirror at an odd angle and between the mirror and bright light I did not notice the quality of the cut. I provided a digital coupon and she got grabbed my phone to see the code better, which is a personal peeve of mine. However I got my phone back and I paid and provided a tip. It was a quick haircut. I got in the car and while driving I noticed uneven cuts. Not only was it uneven, she mixed a #1 cut with a #2, left one side of my beard with a bit cut off and uneven by about 1.5" as compared to the other side. I look like I have racing stripe on one side due to how she used the trimmer. (Almost like she made a mistake and tried to ignore it). I was supposed to get professional photos done but I will be postponing so my hair can grow back in! I chose not to go back to complain since the only thing they could do is cut more off to fix it. No more Great Clips - I could have done the same half assed job with a pair of clippers looking sideways into a mirror at home and saved the money. Horrible service - go someplace else. read more

Five stars for value for the price point. It's a Great Clips, okay? They're not going to offer you a cucumber water and hot towel while you're waiting. Adjust your expectations a bit. What really matters is the cut, not the experience surrounding it. Yes, you might have to wait a bit. Yes, the staff may be overworked (which isn't exactly their fault, cut them a break.) But the place is clean, the hairstylists are dedicated, and the cuts are good. I've lived in the Bay Area for five years and have gotten haircuts at every imaginable price point, and for me, this was the best. My hairstylist, Sarene, was fantastic and had years of experience-- she actually ran her own salon at one point. Give it a shot if you're local, chances are you'll be pleasantly surprised. So go. But when you go, be on the good side of humanity and include a tip. The men and women who work here are paying the same wildly unreasonable rent as the rest of us, and rely on that revenue as part of their pay. They accept credit, which makes it easier. read more

WORST HAIRCUT EVER the staff is just rushing to get the customer out of door. They try to do something under 5 minutes and do the shittiest job. They cannot even get a fade correct. Avoid this location, especially Rosario! I regret bringing my daughter here for a haircut. She was mean, both verbally and physically. She pulled and tugged my daughter's hair aggressively and blamed her for not combing her hair and hanging tangles. Rosario didn't cut straight and kept cutting shorter and shorter to try to even things out. She also grabbed and repositioned my daughter's head aggressively and repeatedly. I was so close to ending the haircut early and just leaving but didn't want to cause a scene and scare my daughter more. When I spoke up about not cutting any shorter, she blamed my daughter for leaning her head. I felt my daughter was instinctively leaning away from pain and fright. I said my daughter is just three and this finally made another employee look up from his magazine. I was disappointed that he didn't do anything then and at the end complimented how nice looking the short haircut was. He was backing up his bullying co-worker. I couldn't wait to get out of this place. I've had great experiences at other Great Clips locations for myself and daughter. I just happened to be close to this one and stopped in and wish I never did. I feel scarred from witnessing this and hope it has no long-term effect on my daughter as it has for me.
