I am new to area, stopped by first to talk to Anna about cutting my hair, she seemed like she understood. Went back and she butchered my hair. I had long hair, just wanted it layered. Said one inch cut off, she must have cut more than two inches. It turned out a shag.. I can't style, nothing is even. she used thinning shears which I should have stopped her. My hair looks shredded and so uneven everywhere. I even told her before I left it was clearly uneven on left and right side. She trimmed to try to fix. this is one of the worst cuts. She is soo uncaring to what I was asking for and abruptly stopped the hair cut. This is my second visit. The first visit was good and some elderly stylist did the hair cut and it was awesome. This is by far one of the best affordable salon I've ever been to in San Jose. The appointment system is really slick and the staff is very amicable. I've got my hair-cut by both Anna and My several times, both are genuinely adroit with hairstyle skills. I personally found "My" the best as she is extremely friendly and fun to talk to. I have dense curly hair and it's always a bit difficult to give it a cut. However, My understands the cut method extremely well, and her attention to detail makes the hair look amazing. How do they have a license. They don't listen to what you ask for. I went in today, and i find that my last haircut i got from them they went a little short ( cut 2 in when i asked only 1), so i grew my hair out a little longer. She is super friendly and she speaks perfect English. Let me just say I was very pleased and will be going back. I went there yesterday without an appointment. The salon is conveniently located on North first. Didn't have to wait much. One of the stylists worked with me saying guys hair take less time (another woman was waiting before me), I appreciate that. The price is fine at $20 but the haircut itself was A-Ok. Nothing to rave about. My rating just means that it was not too bad a haircut plus it was quick and convenient. The kind of haircut I got was something my wife gives me when I keep telling her what to do (decent job with some misses, hell she has actually got better than that). Came back home and had to cut a bit myself. If you are providing a service, you are at least supposed to know if the hair are done or not. Will keep looking for a better salon but will go to this one if I don't find one. read more

Had my nails done for the holidays and they were awesome! The two ladies working for the day were polite and provided great service! They kept the conversation going so it was an easy going time not awkward at all. The mani-pedi was very clean they made sure to be gentle. Price was what you expect to play for. Were very patient when i was looking for my nail color. They remember who you are and that makes the visit so much easier and more personal. The space was very opened and not too crowded. The owner Lee is super nice- can suggest great haircuts to suit your need or do exactly what you ask for. I went in for gel mani/ regular pedi. The service was great, I like the fact that it's close to my work and the person doing my nails actually speaks English. Gel: They have Shellac, which is like the same thing. I didn't mind. It was very good. However, she did leave marks on my nails- since her top coat was almost all gone. Not too many gel colors available. Pedi: It was also very nice overall- but would have been better if she puts more pressure when she gives massages. All together, i paid $50 + $10 tip. OVER ALL: Great customer service & reasonable price. I would go back- I still have my all-time fav. nail salon somewhere else, but if I am too busy to drive- I will come back here. read more

Had my hair cut by Nok, i'm pleased with the results. This place is super convenient for me, however I'm a bit disappointed that the cost is as much as the SuperCuts down the street. I believe it was 18 for men's hair cut with around $3 for shampoo. It was a basic clippers-cut and a shampoo (although more like a rinse). Not sure how, but I guess I'm spoiled from other parts of san jose that for 14 bucks I get a great hair cut and a shampoo / scalp massage. Anywho, by no means was I disappointed, and the pure convenience of this place to me (in the area there's only this and SuperCuts without driving a couple miles / several red lights away) means I'lll be back. P.s. Nok is super nice and friendly, so that's always a plus. And the place is a bit hard to find your first time, tucked in the corner and the sign is covered by trees. She does a great job at Japanese hair straightening, gave me a haircut that is cute and exactly what I asked for, and does great facials. Plus, she is really, super nice--more than I can say for most posh salons I've been in. The main perk is that they're open on Mondays, pretty much my only day off to get anything done anymore, and I can usually get a same-day appointment if I call Monday morning. I mostly go to In 2 Cuts to get my eyebrows done by Ly, she does a marvelous job every single time, my eyebrows look so symmetrical and absolutely beautiful (Five Stars). I also totally recommend this place for men's haircuts (Five Stars), both Ly and Nok are wonderful hair stylists. They do manicures and pedicures (Three Stars) here as well. Unfortunately I do not recommend them at all for nail painting (Two Stars), hands or feet. I only go here to get my nails painted as a last resort and every single time I come back home disappointed especially with French Tip (One Star). I have been going to In 2 Cuts for at least 5 years now and both Ly and Nok are very friendly (Five Stars) and pleasant (Five Stars) that I really look forward to seeing them every single time I go! read more
