First time I came here and had a random hairstylist. It was very crowded when I arrived at 4pm today. The place felt a bit chaotic and noisy, with many people sitting close to each other getting their hair cut. My hair stylist was Andy, though he doesn't speak English but they had their people to help translate. He had nice skills, good and quick. A front desk girl was very attentive and helpful when she helped us to communicate. There was something I felt kinda unprofessional: when I came, the girl told me to have a seat and wait, then one guy he came up to me but he said nothing, just pointed to a chair as if I was supposed to go there. I had thought that he didn't speak English, so that's why he behaved like that. But I was wrong because he was a first person who helped Andy to translate, so obviously he can speak English! And while we were talking, he just ignored me and went to talk with someone else inside, though I did not finish my talking with my hair stylist. It was so rude, especially when you guys are working in customer service. I think he might have judged me that I was a student and I couldn't pay for my hair cut or something. I asked for more layers and showed a reference photo, and they did a great job following what I wanted. Most of the stylists don't speak English, but the host was able to translate, so communication wasn't an issue! The shampoo and conditioning was really nice and relaxing. While the haircut was fairly pricey in my opinion, Gavin did an excellent job and I'm really happy with the results. FYI you can choose a senior stylist which is more expensive. Tried this salon for the first time and got a haircut with Wilson + keratin hair treatment recommended by him for my dry hair (yay mid life). The salon has beautiful decor and everyone is extremely nice and polite. Wilson was very good about asking what I wanted and offering suggestions. My hair turned out amazingly soft and beautifully layered, so it was def worth it despite the jumpscare that is American prices (we usually get our hair done abroad while we're traveling and highly recommend that if you can make it work). It was also a good opportunity to practice my rusty Chinese. As others have mentioned, just be aware that communication can be challenging if you don't speak Chinese though it's nothing that photos and google translate can't overcome if you really like the stylists here. read more

I hope to return in the future, and I would truly appreciate it if you take this feedback seriously. Here is a summary of the issues I experienced and the areas that could be improved: 1. Miscommunication about the haircut I clearly asked the stylist NOT to add layers and NOT to cut the hair around my face short. I explained my reasons, and even reminded them again during the service. Despite that, the stylist continued cutting layers. For the hair around my face, I even called my boyfriend over to help translate and repeated that I did not want it cut. The staff said "YES," but continued cutting anyway. The final result was not what I requested, which caused me some troubles afterwards. 2. Confusing communication during the treatment During the hair treatment, I struggled to understand what I was supposed to do--where to go, where to sit, and what was happening next. It was difficult to follow, especially with the language barrier. 3. Unclear pricing and unexpected charges The stylist asked if I wanted a deep hair treatment at a certain price. The price seemed reasonable, and I asked TWICE --through my Chinese‑speaking boyfriend--whether that price included the haircut. They firmly said "YES." I paid about $100 and left the studio. A few minutes later, I received a text saying I had been charged $100 instead of $150. I drove back to the studio, only to learn that the treatment price was in addition to the original $100. This meant the total would be around $250--much higher than what I was told. When I explained that we had confirmed the price included the haircut, the stylist said there was camera footage showing they had said it was NOT included. I was confused because that contradicted what we heard. After pushing back, they offered a $50 discount, but I still ended up paying double what I expected. I hope this review comes out fact‑based rather than emotional. It took me a few months before start writing it because I didn't want to be too negative. Wow. I will def stick with my male stylist choices! The chatty "girls" also didn't seem to like me using voice to text on them as they chatted away and laughed while rinsing others hair next to me. Once I turned that on and they knew I could understand them they finally were quiet and I was very happy with that result (Nice way to say STFU if you need to.) In short, terrible service, chaotic queue management and poor communication among the staffs. On top of that, toxic chemical smell! If you spend more than 20 min there, you'll know what I mean. I scheduled a 3:45 pm appointment and arrived early. The front desk checked me in, but I waited way past my reservation time. After checking with the front desk again, I learned that they never bothered to let the hair stylist know I was here. Not only they never acknowledged the wait time or the bad experience, but also they brushed it off as if it was nobody's business. One of the staff was incredibly rude - a tall lady in a white top with slightly curly hair who claimed that she wasn't the front desk. She kept saying it wasn't her responsibility as if she didn't work there. To share more context, they weren't understaffed. There were at least 2-3 people sitting at the front desk area, at least 1 hair stylist available, and a few other staff who were wondering around the store but did nothing. A few customers that arrived after me were immediately being taken to their seat or had their hair washed. I do not recommend coming here. Most of the staff are primarily Mandarin-speaking, though the receptionist at front desk the day I arrived for my appointment was able to translate for me. The service here exceeded my expectations. Highlights for me that made this hair salon stand out in my book: -Double wash with a really, REALLY nice scalp and neck massage. Also a hot towel at the end for added relaxation. -My stylist, Aiden, did a great job recommending me refreshed layers to add more volume to my otherwise fine hair. He left length, as I requested, and only took 1-2 inches off my longest layers. -Unlike other hairstylists, Aiden did not slather my hair with lots of product (e.g. mousse, serums, hairspray), which I appreciated. My hair's already fine as is, and at other hair salons, I always felt uncomfortable asking for less product in my hair. -Price was pretty reasonable, considering women's haircuts these days are upwards of +$100. My goal is to share my experience in the most respectful way possible because I truly don't want to blame or hurt anyone -- however I feel very sad and disappointed with the outcome of my recent haircut. A few months ago, I had my hair done by Seven, and it was perfect -- exactly what I asked for, with my length preserved and just the curtain/butterfly shaping added. The only small change I would have made was to go a little shorter on my bangs in the future. I walked out feeling beautiful, confident, and completely understood. This time, for my current budget, I passed on the $120 + tip to see Seven again and I decided to try another stylist in the same salon. Jess had wonderful reviews and a high rating, so I felt comfortable giving him a chance. I came in prepared: I showed the same reference video, described the exact same vision, and asked to keep my length while refreshing the shape and bangs. During the appointment, Jess mentioned that my hair was "fine," which made me wonder if he felt the look I wanted might be difficult for him to achieve. I wish there had been more conversation, more clarification, or even guidance about what was realistic regarding his ability. But halfway through the cut, I noticed inches coming off. By the end, about 6 inches of my length were gone, and the density of my hair was dramatically reduced. When I pull all my hair forward now, it feels like a fraction of what I had. This is the complete opposite of what I requested. I've been extremely distressed because I've never had this happen before -- especially not after being so clear and showing a reference of exactly what I wanted. Jess was kind and tried his best with the styling, and I truly believe he meant well, however the final result is very different from what I asked for. I went in for a bleach and color but I feel like i wasn't really listened to. I wanted an inverted v shape of color but they said they couldn't do that because it wouldn't look good and made the color in the back really low, while also making the color go above my ears. They also said I needed to trim it and that I had to get bangs, and I should chemically straighten my hair because the color would look better that way. I didn't have any input in what my hair was cut to, and they cut about 2-3 inches off when I was trying to grow my hair. (After researching online later I did find out that you should indeed get a trim before bleaching but I wish they just told me this). And they also dyed the non bleached portion of my hair which I didn't know that they were doing. I wasn't aware until after the dye was on my head. I wanted to leave that part of my hair untouched so I could bleach it again in the future more easily. the price on the website said it started at 250 dollars, with 300 for chin to shoulder length hair and 350 for shoulder length to mid chest length hair. I thought I would either pay 300 or 350 because of that, but they quoted me 500 dollars for bleach and color, and 120 for the haircut. I felt like I couldn't leave. I ended up paying 660 instead of the max of 350 I thought I would be paying. I feel like I should take some responsibility for not just leaving but I guess people pleasing pleases everyone except myself. I dont know if maybe the language barrier made it harder for me to explain what I wanted. To their credit, I do think it looks good, and if I saw this on someone else I would complement them. It's just not what I wanted/expected and especially for my first time doing any type of coloring to my hair, I wish they would have explained what they were doing more. Right now I just want to hide my hair or wear a wig and hope it grows out faster so that I can get it cut to something I actually like or go to an independent stylist to get what I wanted in the first place which I'm sure will cost me another 600 dollars. I'm not saying don't go here, they will definitely do a good job, just make sure you come in knowing exactly what you want and be ready to leave if they aren't willing to give you that. read more

This review maybe a bit overdue but I wanted to write an honest review for those who do visit here. First of all, I made an appointment on Tuesday April 29th at 1:00PM with Dylan. I was pretty hopeful after reading the other Yelp reviews however little did I know.. parking was abit difficult to find as the lot can get full despite a morning appointment but was dropped off by my husband. I checked in 5mins prior. The salon's vibe was clean and edgy, however the main thing was the communication/language barrier as most staffs spoke in Mandarin, and my stylist Dylan spoke only in Mandarin but the front staff spoke in English and was able to help translate (not fully). The first time I went, I scheduled for the Japanese straightening perm/haircut(bangs as well) and showed both Dylan and the front staff a photo from one of their clients photo on Yelp. I assumed I was spending around $400 however he then suggested that I needed a Digital perm. I went ahead, however wasn't aware that I had to be sitting in the chair for 6hrs. I literally wanted to cry, walking out because at first they informed that it would take 4hrs but 6hrs was ridiculous. My husband had to wait in the car for 2hrs. My hair didn't stay straightened after following instructions and waiting 48hrs not to wash my hair by Dylan however I did not want to complain, nor thought it was possible due to the language barrier. I paid total of $711.60(including tip)and this was also before Dylan asking if I wanted to add in treatment which was additional $70 which I did not like because I was already not happy having to wait for 6hrs and was extremely exhausted at this point. He told me to come back after 2-3months for a bang trim, since I already invested so much and he already knew my hair condition; I made another appointment with him on Friday June 27th at 10AM again with Dylan hoping that this appointment would be smooth, as it was for the hair treatment and bang trim (also to inquire the frizz) as I was informed that the Japanese straightening perm would last for a year. Again, the front staff came to help translate and this time I was really upset since Dylan informed that the Kerastase treatment wouldn't help with the frizz and the treatment was not $70 and costed more . I then complained that I paid around $700 and waited 6hrs in the chair, and my husband waiting for me in the car for 2hrs when they told me it would take 4hrs nonetheless that the Japanese straightening perm would last for around a year and it wasn't until 2 months that I've already had frizzing in my hair and constantly asked if I did ANYTHING to my hair when I clearly followed instructions, paid my duly tip and fee, despite not complaining. Then, he quickly changed his attitude and apologized, and informed that he would perm my hair again(straight) despite me paying for the Digital perm and would only accept $55 for the hair cut fee. I agreed since I invested so much time and money into this but would I recommend this place and come back? No. IF YOU DON'T SPEAK UP ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T SPEAK IN MANDARIN THEY WILL UP SELL YOU. At least from my experience, he kept recommending other treatments as well as the price/cost will not be what you expected. As I made sure the front staff translated what I had to say, he did try correcting my hair. So I won't say less, but please be mindful as I don't want anyone to experience what I have and DO SPEAK UP, there's at least one translator. QUICK UPDATE on 07/22/25 at 9PM: The owner Darren, after reviewing my review asked me for a quick phone call for clarification on my experience and thoroughly listened to what I had to say, he then apologized sincerely for the experience I went through and tried to accommodate/correct the error; And gave me store credit. Andy is the goat!! He achieved the haircut of my dreams. Definitely ask for Andy if you want a women's haircut! The salon was POPPIN' when I walked in and I was pretty nervous since the staff only spoke Mandarin. Upon walking in, an assistant offered me drinks and the receptionist helped with translation. Service already felt top-notch!! Initially, I came in for a Tokio Inkarami hair treatment and hair color, but I ended up with a hair cut too. I just knew I wanted healthy black hair and it was very nice that the staff made sure I really wanted black dye over my bleached hair because once you go black, you can't go back!! Andy also explained to me that it'll be hard if I want to go back to light and the only way I could be blonde again is if I regrow my entire head. His expertise was awesome! For the haircut, I had no idea what I wanted except lots of layers and Korean wispy bangs. Andy pulled up a picture from his phone and it was exactly what I visioned. He did his magic and was able to exactly replicate the photo. Andy also spent time explaining to me how I should style my hair and curl my bangs. He made sure everything was perfect and aligned with my preferences before he let me go. This was probably my bougie-est hair experience ever. This is my second year booking my haircut here. I decided to get my haircut and color my hair in red wine for the first time since there is a first anniversary promo (11/1) where you get a free haircut by adding a coloring session. I booked Dylan on their website and there was a discount that stated his rate at $243 if you book an appointment in the mornings till 3 pm. However, the rate is based on hair length. Since my hair passed my shoulders, the coloring costs $261. Dylan only speaks Mandarin, so he needed another colleague to translate for us for the next 3 hours. All the hairstylists only speak Mandarin, but a few including the owner can speak Cantonese and English. Despite the language barrier, Dylan was diligent in achieving the haircut and color possible as in the pictures I showed him. His actions speak louder than words. He checked my hair many times during coloring and shampooing and offered suggestions that would benefit my style and color in the long run. He also recommended a Kerastase Fusio-dose treatment (an additional $70) that involves steaming and conditioning. It felt like a spa treatment for my scalp, but prefer to use it once in a lifetime. If you're bored bring your book like I did, a laptop to work or play on your phone. After finishing my hair, Dylan was kind enough to take videos of my hair near natural light. Props to Dylan and his colleague/colorist for their hard work! I feel like a new woman now. Another colorist recommended a color-safe shampoo brand that fits my healthy hair. She told me not to get the Keratase from their shelf since I told her I tend to have dandruff because it contains protein which would build up. She checked my scalp and it turns out I have a dry scalp, which explains why I keep getting flakes every time I wash my hair almost every day due to my oily scalp. What she did was ethical because I had some hairstylists from other salons in the past try to force me to purchase expensive shampoos that barely worked. This salon is always clean, has less ammonia smell thanks to their air purifier, is very spacious, and the whole staff takes good care of every customer by taking their hair seriously and offering complimentary bottled water. read more
