I like this location because it is calmer compared to the one on Hawthorne, and I've never really had issues with the people! I went in yesterday with inspo pictures for bangs and shape respectively and got my cut done by this sweet woman who goes by the name Parvin. She also gave me some hair care tips and was easy to talk to. Admittedly it does not look like the reference too much, but she put care into it so it looks decent as its own cut, and I am still happy with it. My multiple inspo pictures (although they were labeled lol) may have confused her (I believe she is French!) so I am not upset. I have been coming here for several years. Never had a bad haircut until today. My go tos were Luis & Maryam - they are fantastic. Today, I let someone new cut my hair. I was very specific on how to cut my sides. In fact, I even showed this person a picture from a magazine as an example. Right away, this person used the number attachment meant for the back on my side and that was not how I explained the way I wanted my sides cut. Since the damage was already done, I just told this person to proceed. After some back and forth dialogue, this person kept commenting that I am making this person nervous and this person would not be able to cut good. That was the last straw. I apologized for raising my voice during the conversation with this person and told this person to end the cut. I left $40 to cover the charges. I appreciate Luis offering the make a correction to the haircut and also refusing to take the money. However, the damage was already done and life is too short for me to listen and argue with the person who cut my hair. Sadly, it's time to find a new hair cutting place. read more

I really wanted my long hair cut short again. I wanted a nice simple shag. I went here on Calle Mayor and the hair stylist was great. It was my first time there so she helped me get logged in. They were pretty busy and I had to wait so I did some shopping. My phone messaged me about 15 minutes before my appointment as a reminder. I went in and what a great cut. She was done in about half an hour and it is PERFECT! I wish I could remember her name, but she was the older lady with the purple colored hair. She is very nice and makes you very comfortable. I was overdue for a haircut which I normally get at about every 6 weeks. Great Clips is very convenient with their online checkin system where you can choose a location near you. It even tells you how long the wait time is so you can schedule at the convenience of your home and drive over just before your time. Lots of parking outside is available. The waiting area is roomy and nice too. I was immediately greeted upon my entry. The staff are always nice. This time Mona greeted me as soon as I walked in and promptly checked me in and seated me at her station. She was very nice and immediately checked my file and knew what my haircut normally was. She improved my previous haircut in fact! Add to that she was pleasant to have a conversation with while cutting my hair. Grand Opening! Great Clips is located on Pacific Coast Highway and Calle Mayor near Ralph's. I found out about this grand opening because of Facebook ad. It included $6.99 coupon. I checked in online Sunday afternoon and wait time was 45 minutes. So I arrived 45 minutes later and I was listed as second in line. I told them I checked online and I took a seat. There were many people waiting in line-over 20 people in line when I got there. The wait time for walk-ins was 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours long. My hair stylist was Alvin(?) and he was great. He looked me up on the system and knew what I wanted and also did some touch ups to blend the edges around my head to look more natural. Thank you so much. The place is clean and everything looked new. There are 8 seats where a hair stylist can cut hair. Right outside the store, there is a sign that says $7.99 Haircut because of Grand opening. I asked how long does the grand opening promotion last and Alvin said until around January 18th. Once after that, it'll be $9.99 for the following month. Then normal pricing after that month. Glad to have another location near me, the one on Hawthorne is always crowded. read more

I WOULD NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! Zero stars. Jai butchered my sons hair. He came in with pretty long, thick beautiful hair. Showed her a photo twice how he wanted it to look. She just kept cutting until he had almost no hair. She then blamed the bad cut on his hair that needed her products. Her products will not grow inches of hair back. No way she has any training for hair cutting. I only paid so she wouldn't call the police. I WOULD RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!! As an update, Great Clips told me Jai did not cut my son's hair. What a great experience we had today! We signed in online and were then able to time our arrival to have no waiting time at all. Ellie was our stylist and she was warm, friendly and professional. She made sure that she understood what my son wanted for his haircut, even bringing out a book of photos from which he could choose. She was careful and thorough and listened to what we wanted. And since we don't live here, she wrote down what she did on the receipt, so we could show it to a future hairdresser. The worst experience!! and the worst result! The new stylist ( old lady) doesn't know anything and the receptionist was very rude. She didnt cut as she was told to and it was too lame. Even i can do better than her. The so called stylist cut the hair along with my 6 yr old son's scalp. When I pointed out about the blood spots on his scalp , they were unable to see! Came here the other day for a cut. For something basic, I'm not picky about where I go so this is the third salon overall and second "budget" chain I've been to for hair services. The cut itself was great and I'm very happy with the results, but the cleanup was messy, I had little hairs on my nape and they didn't dry my hair afterwards. I have never been to Great Clips before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was later in the day, almost 7 pm. I had planned on just going right up the street from my house to a hair salon but most of them close at 7 so I was glad to find one that was still open for another two hours. The reason for my visit was to donate my hair to the organization "Wigs for Kids." The guy who cut my hair was super nice with a very upbeat personality. He made me feel very comfortable, was very easy to talk to & had a great attitude.
