So long story short...we are new to RPV and my daughter wanted a bob haircut before starting school. Being unfamiliar with the area I figured it would be an easy enough haircut to achieve at one of those "chain salons". My daughter has straight hair. After walking out of that salon twice with "hackbob" and a very upset 12 year old girl I began googling my heart out and found Salon Nirvana. Not only were they able to get me in same day but a very talented hairstylist Emily, completely transformed my daughter's hair from a train wreck to a cute hairstyle that she completley adores. Everyone on staff is high energy and extremely professional, while also offering any service a client requests and completing it to a tee. I schedule with Peggy who always keeps my long length, and maintains a natural color on me. Every time I leave the salon I am more pleased with my results! This is a great little hidden gem in beautiful Lunada Bay. Friendly, talented staff. I go to Dyanna and she is fantastic with color and cuts. love the products that she uses...plus she is super sweet. I have tried lots of salons in the south bay and Los Angeles and love this place. Prices are normal...not high...not low. I would say they average $150 for cut/color (depending on what products, extras, etc. you have done.) Peggy also does Keratin straightening...gunna try that next! Good coffee and lots of People magazines...what else could you ask for! Check it out. read more

I got my hair colored and cut at Salon Nirvana Thursday. It was my first visit to Nirvana and Dyanna was the stylist. She gave me the worst cut I've ever had and left my neck on the back of my head black with stain from the coloring process which I had to clean up myself when i got home! I'm extremely disappointed and very upset and would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

Truly this salon deserves no stars. I made an appointment in person. Was given a card with date ,time , and stylist(Peggy). When I showed up for my appointment I was told I did not have an appointment. That was bad enough but no apology, reason, explanation, or offer to make any accommodations,etc. Both the receptionist and Peggy acknowledged they remembered me making the appointment. I left the salon only to find my appointment card with the correct day and time and stylist written. I thought about bringing it in and showing them but they had already wasted enough of my time as I had rearranged my busy schedule for the day to make the appointment. Very poor customer service!!! So if you are looking for a salon that honors appointments this is not the place for you! read more

Peggy gave me the best haircut I've ever had. I used to go to Beverly Hills, but no more. I have very thick wavy hair which is tricky to cut bc it can go frizzy if the hair dresser doesn't know what they're doing. Peggy knew exactly what to do, I'm just so happy i found her. read more

Response to Peggy's comment: Absolutely not true- when your person called me to confirm I said YES my husband was taking off work early. IF I could not make it I would call Saturday ( because I am concientious) I did not call to cxl Saturday which meant I WAS COMING! I called at 5:55 to say I was almost there( took a wrong turn) and no one answered which indicated to me you were not even there at that time. Originally your girl told me she will put down 5:45 but I can come at 6. It was long dark at 6:05 when I got there-next door barber shop said you left earlier- he offered to call you saying he knew you and you may come back in. I caused no scene at all - I went out and sat in my car until he came out and said there was no answer and you did not call back- it was 6:20 by this time and I left. I then called and left a VM saying I was upset calmly and NO ONE called me back even to say I am sorry- when I called back to speak to you I was more upset but you hung up on me- is that what you call customer service? (Seems like you have an excuse for all your unhappy people- hum-maybe its your fault). At the very least you should have called me before you left to see if I was on my way- since apparently you were not sure instead of letting me drive nearly two hours to a dark salon. And you definitely should have called me after you heard my VM from that night to say sorry for the misunderstanding- zero customer service! read more
