My daughter needed a back-to-school haircut STAT. Mona did a lovely job! Fast, precise and kind!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this Supercuts store. They run a tightly scheduled assembly line and just want to get as many people in and out ASAP. My supposed "cut & wash" took all of 15 minutes, and the entire session was a "comedy of errors"... The lady who was assigned to me didn't want to wash my hair. She gave me an excuse but I couldn't understand her because she spoke minimal English and appeared to gave a speech impediment. I said "fine, then just cut it." She showed me 3 pages, each with 9 different style cuts - none are what I want, but figuring she might just be new, I picked the closest style to what I actually wanted. She gave my hair a total of 8 snips then tells me to go to the sink to wash my hair. I said, "Ok but if you wash it then I want a blow dry too." She washes my hair then says "Just blow dry, no style?" I said "Don't you blow dry it with a styling brush? What's the difference? She says, "Only blow, I don't know style." I said, "then forget it. Just let my hair air dry." She then starts blowing out my hair and asks, "You want style gel?" I asked, "So then you ARE going to style my hair?" She says "No, I no style hair." So I say "Then don't put anything in my hair - just leave it be." So I pay ($40 plus tip) and as I go to leave she says "You have little hair on back." I thought maybe she was saying that I don't have much hair (I'm in my 60's it's to be expected - whatever). However, later in the evening I had to shower because my back was all itchy with snipped hair, and THAT'S when I noticed she chopped off a chunk of hair on the back of my head! Luckily, I have curly hair so you can't see it much when dry, but you can definitely see it when wet. Needless to say, I most definitely will NOT be returning. Unfortunately, one stylist seemed to have overbooked her appointments, and I was waiting more than usual. Luckily, another stylist I like was available Happy to have someone I trust, cut my hair. First time at this location. I used to go to the other Redondo location. However, they permanently closed. Anyway, I walked in. It was two older women employees that work there. They were not welcoming. No smile, No Good Morning or a Hello?? Anyway, Karla gave me my trim. She was ok. Only thing was, she kept recommending me to buy there Paul Mitchell products. I declined. Since I have a product I already use & it works great for my hair. She kept saying my hair is dry. I only came for a trim. I don't need the hair 101. I said, I know, it's been that way my whole life. I can try all the products in the world. Still wouldn't make a difference. I have thick naturally wavy curly hair. It's naturally dry & frizzy. Just like how some people have naturally oily skin . I have naturally dry hair. She also said some stuff, that didn't make sense. In my opinion, she wasn't knowledgeable about hair, period. Only good thing about this place is that it's close to home. And that's why I gave it 3 stars! read more

Great location, however they tend to get overbooked with appointments for which in turn makes your appointment start delayed. Not their fault but the management should adjust this because it's really disrespectful of customers time. If I make an appointment for 10am I expect to be in the chair at or as close as possible to 10am, not 10:30 or 10:45. As customers, we plan around these appointments. read more

Good hair cuts at a decent price. I will normally See Geri as she is by far the best. She herself deserves 5 stars but other barbers/stylists give 3 star haircuts so average is 4 stars. Clean environment. Have to book to make appointments. It's normally a "you get what you pay for" haircut. Good for simple cuts. But for more elegant styles you should visit a higher end salon. read more

I decided to take my son to Supercuts because it's near by, and the usual place we go to in Redondo, our haircut gal is on maternity leave. I can't wait until she is back. Firstly, the online booking experience at Supercuts was good. This was the only store taking online reservations on MLK day, and booking was easy. Although you are not able to select a stylist. Also you don't get a confirmation email when you finish booking so it's a mystery if it went through. Onto the in store experience. 10AM MLK Day, no customers in the store. I thought this was a good thing. But I soon discovered that this was really just a sign of how bad the haircut is going to be. We arrived and waited a few minutes for someone to help us. Yannia (spelling?) came to the front to help us, she asked if we made an appointment, and I said yes. It took her a while (5 minutes?) to locate our appointment, she couldn't find it under name, time, so I had to give her my phone number and name again. (yet the store is completely empty, which could only mean there's no other appointments. strange.) My son sat down, and received what I would call the Dumb and Dumber Jim Carey hair cut. We didn't ask for this haircut. My 12 year old son has been growing out his hair for around 2 months so that he can have more styling options. Too bad, guess he'll have to start over. Next was her side trim/ fade. It looked like Charlie Browns t-shirt, you know with the "www", we asked for a fade. After seeing this, I pointed the "www" out to the lady and she said, it's not like that when I can clearly see with my own 2 eyes that Charlie Browns T-shirt is now on my dumb dumber kids head. We gave her all of 2 minutes to start fixing it, and I regretted it immediately as she continued to trim more and more hair. Obviously there wasn't any other way to fix a bad hair cut than to cut off more hair. So, I grabbed my son and told the lady we're done. She said she wouldn't charge us, but I paid anyway because I don't the store owner to be penalized by poor staff. Too bad though. I'll never be back. This is place is a 0 star. And this stylist needs more practice, and people should be warned about how bad she is. read more

I tried this Supercuts salon in Redondo Beach. I had gone to the Super Cuts on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance, but they seem to be permanently closed. This location in Redondo Beach was great. The stylist who worked on me did a wonderful job and was very pleasant toward me. I was even given a hot towel which other Super Cuts seemed to have stopped doing. The atmosphere at this location is great and it seems to have been updated. I will certainly come back to this location again. read more

I rarely go to any hair salon but I wanted to change things up and clean up my hair. I was able to make a same-day appointment with Geraldine online. I was very nervous having someone cut my hair, especially with the look I was going for but I pretty quickly felt comfortable with Geraldine doing my hair, as she definitely seemed to know what she was doing. After I got home and my hair dried I realized how much I loved my new hair. She absolutely nailed the look I was going for and I couldn't be more pleased with this haircut. Thank you!! read more

Looking to get a new 'do' for my Baby Shower, and was referred to this location by a lady Bay Club with gorgeous hair. She usually sees another gal than who I saw, but when she wasn't available, I asked who is experienced, and is up to date on trends. I was told to see Geri. I called the next day and scheduled with Geri for same day. ***PS: You cannot book ahead here. You have to call at the beginning of the stylist's shift to schedule same day. I went in, told her I wanted a blunt cut, she sprayed my hair, cut away, and I left. Any additional "fluff" you have to pay separately for; shampoo, blow dry, style, etc. It was a quick appt, but I got done what I needed. Can't wait to see her again when I need a touch up! read more

Will need to schedule an appt ahead of time if you choose to go there. Given the time of Thursday late afternoon/early evening, I proceeded in search for another place. At last, I decided to go here at Supercuts. Walked right into the chair. arrived at about 9:45 am for a haircut for my daughter. from what I could tell there was two people there in the back of the store (although it wasn't clear they both worked there.). Requested a haircut and was asked if I had a reservation. we didn't have a reservation. Long story short, the woman who worked there treated me rudely in front of my daughter who was to get the haircut. it's no big deal to me if Supercuts requires appointments. Just tell me that with respect and I will go on my way. it's not the end of the world. Don't humiliate and shame me. don't tell me my wife set up the appointment at a different store when we never set an appointment in the first place. we were under the understanding that they accept walkins. An older Hispanic lady greeted me when I walked in and I was seated right away. It was helpful that I was the only one there. She asked what I wanted and went straight to snipping. I was nervous at first but I could tell she knew what to do. The cut was quick and painless. Exactly how it should be. Haircuts should not take one hour. I'm talking to you fancy salons! Unfortunately the last two times I visited this place I had to wait over 40 minutes past my appointment time. The ladies are nice but don't seem to know how to manage appointments online and are unsure about availabilities. I also noticed the quality of the haircuts post COVID has deteriorated and the hairdressers are not as skilled or are very very slow. For example, it took a hairdresser over 40 minutes for a junior boys haircut ( I didn't know when she finished because I left). I think this place needs some management oversight or supervision. The staff are rude! I went there last night for my child's trim. 2 girls were sitting in client chairs and not clients. They were sitting there gossiping with a stylist. It was NOT a welcoming atmosphere to say the least! My child asked for a lollipop as they have been here many times and get one every time. The lady said to my daughter, "we don't do that anymore." Conveniently located close to my house, but once you get there it's a nightmare. It's always a wait, whether you did the online BS app or walking in. There's always ladies sitting around when there are customers waiting to get their haircut. I got my haircut by the middle-aged lady with a pink Mohawk. Told her I wanted it short and she butchered the sides, cut maybe an inch off the top and made it look like hers (aka not blended). Went back to get it fixed. Of course she didn't remember me (been 2 days) and charged me full price to fix it. She insisted on doing the sides and "cleaning" the back up. I got my hair cut from here once for my sister's wedding a couple years ago (2010). I told the lady I wanted a 1 cut and that is what I got. My parents told me I should of got my back tapered, ehhh oh well. The waiting area, I don't remember seeing any car magazines, WTH man. Time Magazine...Yes. So what I remember, I asked her for a cut and I didn't socialize with the lady, just got my hair mowed and paid the overpriced haircut and left and went home (most likely) and showered off my near bald head. I don't usually pay people to chop/mow my hair down these days. I used to go to Manny's barber shop on Calle Mayor but I wanted to save money. Depending on who you get, Supercuts can be just as good as a more expensive salon or trendy place like Floyd's. And much cheaper. Luckily I found a stylist here that I like and go to her regularly. At Supercuts, you have to try different stylists until you find the right one. read more

There is always a long wait with or without Appointment. Even if short staffed always a wait. Then that makes the staff be in a hurry or bad mood. Patty is grumpy, and knows what she is doing, but too in a rush cutting off side burns she was told not too. And Debbie is sweet also knows what is doing just needs to be a tad careful not to cut too fast/ short. Same goes for Amelia. They all need a good manager and more staff. read more
