This is a nice haircut salon when you consider the chains. It's located in a busy shopping center next to Fresh Farms grocery store and a Liquor Store. I have been here a couple of times. You can check-in online and get on the wait list (if there is one). Once you arrive here, you inform the hairstylist when asked they are on the list and they will call you when it is your turn. Haircut styling varies from stylist to stylist. Some do a good job, some an okay job, and some a bad job. In my recent visit, hairstylist Aneela, provided good customer service and a decent haircut. The salon was clean and well lit. The pricing is current with today's (post-COVID) standards for a chain shop. $20 for men's haircut. I received a coupon of $3 off for my next visit which was at the bottom of my receipt. I appreciate that. read more

Just opened place in "newish" shopping strip mall (Farm Fresh Plaza). Went for a quick cut with low expectations. Suprised by one of, if not the best haircuts I have had in 5 years. Think I got lucky. The girl I got was Indre (blonde); the gal who greeted me at the door (the other barber) had a hard enough time getting my name spelled right in the computer. My fiancé just went to Great Clips on Dundee in Wheeling and it was the worst hair cut he's ever received - probably could've done a better job himself. Dana was his stylist on this visit. He had different lengths all over his head and some areas didn't even look cut at all. It was awful. He ended up going back for someone else to fix it. So what was supposed to be a quick cut Saturday morning turned into an hour process. The lady when he went back reassured him that he wouldn't have to pay - how sweet of her. So I went here for the first time yesterday for a hair trim, I had alot of dried out split ends, and I asked for some layers to help add volume. The young lady was super sweet, customer service was great. The length was good, what I asked for. There was another customer waiting & she didn't fully dry my hair. A few hours later I put my hair in a pony tail, and when I got home decided to go fully look over how my hair looked. OhMyGod! It was sooooo choppy. My pony tail looked like a stair case, there were soo many different levels. Yes, layers, but layers are supposed to BLEND! On top of that, I have one part of my hair that was wayyy longer than the rest, like a small section of hair she fully missed! It looked like a rat's tail, if your familiar with the term. I'm super disappointed & now plan on spending more money to get this fixed at an actual salon. I went in for a simple trim & regret it. I dont want to get anyone in trouble, but I do recommend they fully dry & check the hair from different angles! Dry hair vs wet hair shows alot more & lays differently. Rooky mistake. read more

As a young woman, I go to walk-in places for quick trims to save a little money. Before this salon opened, I would go to Bo-Rics (closed) or Super Cuts in BG. I disliked my recent experiences at Super Cuts, so I looked for another place to go... I have been here at Great Clips twice in the last 3 months, and I will say that this place is way better than Super Cuts. I was able to walk in and be seated within 5 minutes. I was satisfied enough with my cuts for $13. Though, I don't think I would want to get more than a trim here. The stylists seem a little impatient at times and communication is not always 100% clear.... For more stylish cuts/services I will continue to go to my mom's friend's private salon, which charges $20 for a wash, cut, blow dry, flat-iron straightening, and relaxed atmosphere. read more

It should be -1 on the rating! Very rude (tall, curly black haired lady) she yelled at her customer. Theres 2 ladies working old and young. Young is very super rude. Don't let her touch your hair or whatever. Worst stylist ever. How come that company hire her from the start. I end up getting another haircut same day in different haircut place. Don't go there you get yelled and end up spending another $ cause for sure your not gonna like it and you need to go somewhere to get another haircut. Never go back again to that place. plus very rude and bad customer service. If you have a bad day, don't go there it'll get worst & if you have a great day don't go there because it's about to be your worst day of your life. The name of the store isn't what you receive. Today I went in for hair cut. I usually don't go to great clips for my hair cuts, but I decided to give them a shot. After today I remember why I never go there. First off the lady that cut my hair was nice, I'd give her that, but for that she lacks in the skill to properly cut and layer hair. I told her short on the side burns and back, keep the front, but layer it. She did NOT layer my top into sides, so my hair sticks out every which way, and she cut way too much off the top and front. I also have a natural swirl towards the back of my head, which she fail to fix, to better blend with the rest of my hair. This isnt a problem at a place like Hair Cuttery that will fix that without question. It's safe for me to say I'll never be going back to great clips for my hair cuts. read more

Had been going to this place for 3-4 years with very low expectations. Have been ignoring all this time somewhat rude behavior of a particular staff member (barber). She just jumps on every opportunity to yell at a customer. Not even have the basic courtesy. Really don't know how to talk to a customer. Never stepping again in the store. If the staff could only understand that customers aren't just visiting the store for services, there is no dearth of places for these services. People come their for good experiences which is a rarity here. Not all the staff members are same, some are good in general but some are just extreme opposite. I asked to get lines or steps in my hair which are supposed to be really thin, equidistant, and each one longer than the one lower, and I even showed the person a picture of what I wanted and what I got was three huge ass lines all the same length that looked awful. Went in for a haircut this Sunday and it was great. I did on-line check-in before going there, it showed only 4 minutes wait-time...so as soon as I went there, they were ready for me. My son later complained me that she was pulling his hair hard while doing the haircut. He even told me that he never want to go there again. I've tried to go three times to do a blow out, they say only on weekends and rudely, even when no other customers there. Last time I was just going to have a wash and dry.
