Clean and welcoming, our first time here and the owner graciously handled my son's endless questions and fidgety movements. He's 25 and has sensory issues, such as an aversion to face masks, but the people working there were unbothered by his lack of a face covering and the man cutting my son's hair did a great job. Stopped by the other day as a walk in an hour before closing and had Hector do my hair. I had gotten 2in off of dead ends and brought back my bangs and let me tell you, his attention to detail making sure my bangs were even is just amazing, Supercuts could never. I don't understand the poor previous review here. Hector is great I've been a regular for over four years. Hector's daughter and friends are normally in the shop. Also the t.v. in waiting room is usually tuned to Nick Jr or Disney channel. To say this business caters to families is an understatement. The guy is rude and his female partner doesn't appear to know how to do certain cuts. I was trying to show a picture of what I wanted and the lady couldn't quite explain that she didn't know how to do the cut. Then I turned to the guy to show him the picture and he says "she does the women haircuts". At this point I was ready to get up and walk out. I asked one last time do you know how to cut my hair this way? No she says. Ok I'm leaving. When I left the shop there was a person in the parking lot and the person says"that was a fast haircut" I told the person about the lady not knowing how to cut my hair, the person says "run, run as fast as you can". Ha ha. I think that was the first time I've had a beautician do that. Well at least she was honest saved me from a few months of bad hair day(s). read more

The owner and stylist name is Hector Fox and if yelp offered a negative star rating, that's what he would get. When you enter the business, there's 2 rooms, a waiting room on the left and the room on the right where they cut your hair that is divided by a solid wall. Usually I go to Rays Family Cuts but he was so busy and I was in a hurry, I found this place and it was empty, I guess there was a reason why. As soon as we walked in, Hector "told"us to wait in the waiting room. I was confused because 1, I never seen a waiting room in a salon and 2, There was NO one in there besides me, my son, and The hair guy, Hector ! I told him theres no one here ...? He said he has some cleaning to do for a few minutes. We waited about 4 minutes before he was ready. Any other place puts my son on a booster but this guy Hector put my son on 2 boosters which led him to have no back support. This guy just had no clue and is NOT child friendly at all. During the haircut I can tell my son was getting tired because he was having to hold himself up so i held him in place and at a point I held his head when he was figgity. Hector the haircut guy said to leave him alone and he got it.....I can see the way he was grabbing my sons head and face turning it to his position. He was very rough with him and I can see the grip on his hand. I did not appreciate that at all. Then he blew the blow dryer in my sons face without warning and kept doing it even though my son was moving away until I said he;s done, he's fine. Then it was my turn, I told my son to sit in the chair and wait for me. Can you believe this guy Hector told me my 3 year old son cannot sit in the same room as me while I get my hair cut because he had to sit in the waiting room. REALLY ? He's 3 years old moron. Why would I want my son to sit somewhere out of my sight ? I told him, well I want to see my son while I get my haircut, he cant just sit in one of these empty seats that arent being used because we are obviously the only 3 people in here ? He said no, he has to wait in the waiting room. At that point I was just like you know what dude, forget about my haircut, I will just pay for my sons. This guy didn't have any manners, he does not know how to conduct business in a professional manner. He doesnt speak good english, you can barely understand him. He is very rude and antisocial. I've been coming here for haircuts since it opened. Hector and his wife are awesome! I have never, ever received a bad cut. The salon is very clean and I have never waited too long. I've been going here for a couple of years now and I have to say all my experiences have been great! I love the fact that this place has a waiting room with toys and books. My son prefers being in the waiting room, than sitting down looking at mommy get her hair cut. Maybe I cant see him while I'm getting my haircut, but I sure can hear him since its only a small wall that divides the rooms. Plus, there is no door that leads the waiting room outside. If they didn't have the waiting room, I would have to constantly have to tell my child to stay seated, because as a parent the last thing I would like for my child is to slip and fall on the hair that's on the ground. I feel like my son is safer in the waiting room than in the other room. Another reason why I like the waiting room they have, is that their isn't other people looking at you while you're getting your haircut making you uncomfortable. My son also gets his haircuts here as well. Before I found this place, I had taken him to other places here in Marina, and he would cry. When he does get his haircuts, he always asks to go here. He has gotten his hair cuts with the owner and his wife, and both of them have treated him well. When he gets his haircuts done by him, he usually puts him on two busters because the owner is so tall. My son doesn't complain at all or cry, which tells me he is comfortable. The owner is always very nice to me and most importantly to my son. I have recommended this place to all my friends as I would to anyone. read more
