Each lane has a projector which displays various games on the wood board which made it pretty fun. They have the traditional target rings, but also a variety of other displays to mix things up. The only downside was the center of our board was pretty torn up to the point that the axe didn't stay put sometimes. The drinks were reasonably priced, and they have a handful of draft beers from local breweries. They also have a deal of 5 shooters for $16. We didn't try these, but I was pretty impressed by the price so wanted to mention it. Aside from the axe throwing, they have plenty of other games to keep you entertained.

This place used to be a great place to go and play sand volleyball. It recently went through…read moremanagement changes and has begin to go downhill. Yes, it is a business, but it is a business that is built off of being social, not a production line. They have implemented a rule that you only get 1 minute between your games to get the games in on time. I get keeping the games on time, but you are losing money from alcohol sales. Then they quit letting games run over. We played the other night and we were coming up on the next hour. We were ahead 18-16 with 3 minutes left, and when they cut us off at 21-20 when we were 3 minutes over. We usually play to 23. If they can't give any grace for games that are almost done, then it is just another reason why it is starting to suck there. If the refs can't keep the games on time, then hire new refs, or actually hire real refs. Most refs are just there paying off their session fees and are on the phone most of the time anyway. They used to give you 2 requests per session. Like if you couldn't do the 10pm hour, you could request that. Now you get one request or so they say. They used to actually try and fulfill those requests. They don't even try now. The schedule for Tuesdays this session is exactly the same as last session. team for team, hour for hour. All the did was change the name of the schedule from winter 1 to winter 2. So any requests were not met, we play the exact same teams in the exact same order. Which means there are 2 teams that we don't get to play for a second session. To me, that is just pure laziness. I don't know if the other days are like that. I hear a lot of grumblings among the players now, rule changes that no one knows about, lights being shut off right at 11pm. No grace period to get off the court and gather your things. The first session, I get it, new management is learning, but the second session only seems to be getting worse. It definitely is not the place I used to tell people to come and play at. Now it is just the place I play at for now.

Large floatable obstacle courses in the manmade lake that they have in the back...EVERYONE HAS to wear a lifejacket (good luck trying to find the right size)...and the lifeguards WILL yell at you even if you BARELY have your feet in the water! It's a LONG walk to the bathroom and changing area, as well as kiddie area and condensations! Overall, had a great time, but it would be a once in a blue moon visit for me...little pricey as well!

This rec center is an absolute beast. As someone who loves to work out at recreation centers and…read morehas been to many throughout her life, this one takes the cake as one of the cleanest, most modern, and largest. It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.

The instructors are knowledgeable and patient. The beginning class introduces you to the basics of many dances and uses a lot of music you hear on the radio so you can take your new moves out on the town after a few lessons! I've just moved up and now I'm working on refining my skills/moves in the dances of the month. Not only am I becoming a ballroom dancer, but I'm also making friends and memories along the way. I look forward to Monday night lessons and the social dancing afterwards as I'm guaranteed to share some laughter and fun (and a misstep or two) with a fantastic group of people!
