Ms. Colby will not release the patient records as she states "you're no longer a patient in this facility and you can call customer service for both records and to retrieve your refund." Then proceeds to threaten to call the police not once but three times. Just to make future patients AWARE... this location hands out your personal information in their new patient packets. How do I know? Because I have a copy another patients entire dental work up to include contact information i.e. where that person lives. In Ms. Colby's defense I supposedly stole this paperwork... which I have no idea how it's even possible. The point is Ms. Colby states they cannot share HIPAA with anyone but will gladly give out your personal information to random strangers. Just be aware. My son had an appointment for 10/16 for a crown placement. I was called the day before to confirm his appointment; however, later that same day I received another call informing me that the crown was delayed and the appointment needed to be rescheduled for 10/17. On 10/17, I called to confirm that the crown had in fact arrived, which the office confirmed and my son's appointment was confirmed. I took off work to take my son to his appointment just to learn that the crown hadn't arrived and that we would Have to return the next day. Needless to say, I questioned the misleading information and why nobody followed up to inform me that the crown hadn't arrived. This is when the situation went from bad to completely UNACCEPTABLE. The manager, Nicole, proceeded to raise her voice at me and behave in an absolutely rude and even aggressive manner. I did not receive the acknowledgement that I deserved after being mislead and losing work hours. My experience was horrible because Nicole is the most unprofessional and poorly mannered person. It's fair to note that the rest of the employees were very kind and professional; however, the poor management makes this place unacceptable. read more

Horrible, very professional and nasty manger Yari C. She didn't greet me after her staff mishandled my file instead she dismissed me without owning her mistake as a leader. She made her presence known by telling me she was the office manager when her staff scheduled my kids for the 2nd time with the wrong Dr and she didn't apologize for the inconvenience. She is unqualified to identify herself as a manager and she needs to be more concerned with the cleanliness of the establishment and customer service. She's a horrible representation of a leader. No empathy was expressed, instead she laughed in my face and told me to take my kids to another dental office for care. read more

I have been going to this office for a while with my kids. My son is getting orthodontic treatment here and all I can say is, make sure you stay on top of your treatments and what's needed. Ask for documentation of everything, every visit. On more than one occasion being called back at different appointments they have told me that my child needs to have teeth pulled. Then when you look at them like what are you talking about? That is not accurate based off of my previous appointment they say oh sorry we were looking at someone else's notes. There always seems to be misinformation going on and you have to constantly correct and verify everything. I understand mistakes happen here and there but it's every time. The moment you advocate for your child and what you were told previously, then everyone scatters and passes the buck on to somebody else and it's somebody else's issue to deal and resolve the issue. The constant attitude that is very prevalent when you are advocating is irritating. When they are in the wrong and get attention drawn to their error they will then try to schedule appointments that send you to other offices the orthodontist is at. They told me my son needed a cleaning and to have his wires put back in, I needed to come to the office on Big Bend to have his wires removed, go to another location to have him cleaned, and then come back to that location on Big Bend to have his wires put back in. When I asked how much sense does that make? Why can't they do it all in one office the girl told me what I have to check. I don't know. It's your job to know. That's why you work at the front desk. Eventually I ended up talking to someone else who was able to schedule all the necessary appointment on one day so I didn't have to be going back-and-forth. There's definitely a level of professionalism that is not in this location. Not all of the providing staff have an attitude and just seemingly a complete distain for their job. However, there's more staff there that seem like it's an inconvenience to assist you than not. I have had to find a different dentist for my oldest to go to because of the constant miscommunication, misinformation, the nasty attitude some of the staff walk around with and the way they treat their patients who advocate for theirselves. All I can say is make sure you get your documentation after every visit. read more

SCAM ALERT: I would give 0 stars if I could. Do not go here! I have excellent dental hygiene, never have had a cavity and even have kept my wisdom teeth. I've always gone to the dentist twice a year and have NEVER had any issues. I recently moved to Florida and was forced to find a new dentist. Unfortunately my dental insurance led me here. The first red flag is even though my insurance covers 1 scan a year, GE made me sign something saying it would be $45 immediately upon seeing the hygienist. The second red flag is the hygienist never even looked at my teeth! The dentist immediately comes in, looks at my mouth for 3 seconds and proceeds to tell me I have severe bone loss, fractures all over my teeth, etc. They tried to force me to sign a treatment plan that would cost over 1000k and refused to do a standard cleaning. I got up and left the appointment without anyone giving me a cleaning. I happened to be visiting home the following week and my dentist squeezed me in thank goodness. Horrible experience. Sam the receptionist who was the interim manager position as very RUDE. She told me my insurance was NOT in network. I previously checked when scheduling the appt. And spoke to Genesis to confirm that they accepted my appointment. I am from NY and I've never seen such a dirty dentist office. I also called my insurance to provide the NPI number to the provider and confirmed he was in network. My husband went to get a cleaning they charged him $10 fee for COVID sterilization but called it something else. They tried to charge him $33 for an X-ray that he didn't need. I had a great experience here but mostly because my hygienist was very thorough and professional. My teeth felt very clean and smooth after my appointment. She spent good quality time making sure that my teeth were free of tartar and I have never had a hygienist go above and beyond like this. I definitely recommend booking appointments with Danielle. My only negative thing to say is that when I called to cancel and reschedule my appointment, no one called me back to confirm my cancellation. I had to call them to make sure they got my message and they could not find me in their books so they cancelled but didn't let me know. read more

Scam alert! During my visit, multiple services were offered for my daughter. I agreed to everything after asking if it's covered by the insurance. I was assured EVERYTHING would be covered. I received a bill in the mail today, so I contacted my dental insurance provider. I was told I should not have received a bill, so I checked online for reassurance, and to get the black and white evidence. Sure enough, the agreement this provider has with my dental insurance clearly states to NOT send the patient a bill (see photo). I tried to call this morning to get an explanation, but just received blanket excuses, and no answers. Just one more reason to lower my rating. While I was there, the only person that showed any kind of courtesy was the dentist. I thought maybe they were having an off day, but after reading the other reviews, I understand this is a norm for them. I was being generous with the 3 stars in my previous review. Now with this scam they have going on with billing the customers against policy, I can't see giving them over one star. I probably should not have rated them as a three star in my first review, because I didn't really plan on going back. The office is dirty with paint chips, snot on the walls + the lady at the front was rude and dismissive I had a 1 o'clock appointment that I was late for since she rather talk to her coworker. I didn't see them disinfecting anything in the lobby either. Next, they wouldn't allow the 2 adults into the room with a 10 year old getting a consultation. But had a lady in the waiting area who kept coughing and hacking everywhere. I walked out of the appointment and rather get a referral else where than this crap hole. DONT COME HERE. I had an emergency need for a crown. After receiving the permanent crown my tooth pain increased. At first, I hoped that the pain would go away, but it didn't and the pain lingers several months later to this day. I called great expressions and talked to an individual that had worked on my treatment and was told that if I am experiencing pain still, then there is a very high likelihood that I would need a root canal and that this outcome could have been foreseen because my treatment leading up to the placement of the permanent crown was difficult and painful. I feel as though I should have been told about that outcome during the procedure so that I could receive a root canal instead of a crown. I feel as though the dentist and assistant could have done a better job at the procedure itself. It was extremely long, painful, and I experienced trauma. They couldn't figure out why anesthetics were not working as expected and I was injected with them several times to eventually obtain a dulling effect. I also did not like that the radio was turned on for my treatment. There was rap music playing that maybe they found relaxing, but this made me worried that they were not focused enough. They may have a statistic that not many crown placement procedures go so wrong, but I feel like they had the necessary knowledge to see the warning signs with my treatment and pursue a different course of treatment at the time. Because they didn't contemporaneously recognize what was happening with my procedure and associate those problems with a need to pursue a different path of treatment, I got the crown that day, it continues to pain me, and at some point I will have to pay someone to do additional work as to alleviate that pain. For this procedure that didn't fully work as I wanted, I paid around $700 out of pocket and insurance had already paid a good amount. There are dentists that offer cheaper treatment and now that there are becoming less Covid restrictions, I will be seeking them out rather than be shoehorned into using Great Expressions. read more

I have not had any luck with a local dentist in Riverview. I recently went to great expressions on 301 for a 2nd opinion .I waited a half hour to be taken back then waited another half hour in the chair for the dentist to see me . After 90 minutes I had to leave , so the assistant told me that she would email me my plan of care. After a week of leaving messages & calling , the office manager NEVER called me back . I called this morning yet again & was told that I left & I would need to be seen again to get my plan of care. I said that is not true from what you told me last week. The lady was very nasty to me & I kept asking her to speak nicer to me & that I didn't want to argue. She said there's nothing she can do & told me the office manager will call you back & hung up on me. I just just walked in person & got my plan of care. Needless to say it's $600 more than my current dentist! Do your research & think twice before going there !!! read more

These people don't follow through with what they tell you. They promised us a promotion if we signed up that day, wich we did, for a very expensive plan for my daughter for braces. They said they would include a nice electric toothbrush as a current promotion but they would get it to us later cuz they didn't have any in stock at the time. Later when we asked them where the toothbrush was they said the promotions over and we can no longer give it to you. This was by far one of the best trips to the dentist I've had in a very long time. One of my crowns fell off, and went to great expressions and they were able to fit me in On a very busy Saturday morning. Everyone was very professional as I saw two technicians and the dentist himself and they were able to reapply the existing crown without having to go through the agony of creating a replacement. I'll be making this location in Riverview my permanent dentist. read more

They take too many x rays even if you have existing Charge for free check up- because they make more pictures than needed. My son was charged for fluoride treatment, they didn't do- because I asked not to. We are reporting the fraudulent business to BBB and Aetna and County inspectors! I wasn't planning on writing a review but it's gotten to the point that it's frustrating due to the fact that they have made multiple errors and wouldn't admit to it and brush it off with an attitude. They kept sending us incorrect time schedules and we wouldn't know till we arrived. They stated that they called us but never actually did and when we tried to explain that this wasn't the first time they have done this the lady upfront ignored us and continued to cut us off just by saying to reschedule for the third time. First off there is a $15 COVID fee for everyone that they don't tell you about until the end. Also, there are no chairs so please help yourself to the hard concrete flood. I went in for my annual exam and cleaning. It was very odd that they had me do the exam first. And now I know why. Its all a scam to upcharge people. Dr. Robyn wanted to do $1600 worth of work. Keep in mind I literally have had no issues. I refused to give them that much money. Because I refused to give them unnecessarily hundreds of dollars they refused to give me my cleaning. The staff is always very friendly, but their time management is very poor. I had an appointment at 9:30 and arrived 15 minutes early. I wasn't placed in a room until 10:00 and was told the Dr would be with me. I got up and canceled my appointment and left after waiting another 10 minutes. So, I was there from 9:15 - 10:10, nearly a complete hour without being seen. This happens every time I have an appointment there. I will not be going back. You have to reschedule if you will be more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, but it's ok for you to wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen as if your time is not important as well. read more

Worst Dentist office I've ever been to. My wife and I both went here and had multiple problems with their staff and customer service regularly. On a large scale, we were charged for appointments we didn't have on more than one occasion, including x-rays and cleanings. Dentists and staff reviewed approved services and ensured us that they were covered when they were not. If you read other reviews here you will see this is a reoccurring theme. On a smaller scale, their time management is horrible, their call backs are always forgotten or past a week before you hear from them; and you can hardly ever get a real person on the phone. They are always behind on appointments and the staff ends up rushing through your appointment and cleanings. Front desk and office management is extremely rude and unprofessional. Dawn is the manager and extremely unorganized. I left multiple messages with the staff and for her on voicemail for over 2 weeks before I finally called in again and got her on the phone. I hate the fact that I have to give at least 1 star because this place does not deserve any! I went because it's basically the only place that takes my new insurance. Forget about calling--they leave some type of voice messaging system on which asks you to leave a message. Of course, they never called me back. They NEVER answer the phone when you call! Talk about "customer service"!!! I finally went IN to the place just to make an appointment for a simple cleaning. When I arrived for the appointment (which I thought was a cleaning) I was shocked when no cleaning actually took place! It was just a "consultation" at which point they gave me a "dental plan" of action for my mouth! This "plan" included 2 crowns and 2 fillings to the tune of over a thousand dollars! I told the girl, "I just wanted a cleaning." She told me that I could make yet ANOTHER appointment for that! Finally, a month later I was able to get my cleaning and get this- the hygenist told me that if I wanted flouride I would have to pay an extra $25!!!! WHAT??? This place is like a cattle call--tons of people being pushed through like robots being told they need all kinds of non-necessary work. (I've never had a crown in my life!) The customer service is ZILCH and I totally did not feel "human" after I walked out of there! I called to make an appointment for my child and asked if they were good with kids and if they are able to deal with kids who need extra time with the bitewing procedure due to gagging reflexes and the lady who answered the phone literally placed me on hold talking about I don't know, let me go ask. First of all they say they are a pediatric dentist so would you not know if you were good with kids??? Then she gets back on the phone talking about she can't guarantee an x-ray will be performed if he has reflexes. Ummm, then why would I bring my child to you?
