Tried this place as I saw it was new. Owner recommended the chicken shawarma as it was the "signature" choice. Chicken was crazy dry, dry, dry. Flavor was ok but nothing special. Pitas were over heated to the point of having hard edges and feeling "toasted" (brittle). No onions and tomatoes really except for what seemed to be a tiny salad with french-like dressing on it. Hummus was good however but thats certainly not enuf reason to go there. Rice was average turmeric rice. Normally I'm not one to pick on the interior of places. Heck many bbq places I go are a pit! But come on, clean or paint the bathroom door, its filthy. And maybe something more attractive than a beat up 20yr old 2x4 to lock the back door might be a choice... read more

Finally got a chance to stop in here one Saturday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by who I assume was the owner. Very friendly and welcoming - he seemed to know it was our first time there. I had the gyro sandwich (which came with fries). It wasn't the best I've had, but it was fine. (Next time I'll ask to leave the lettuce off - personal preference). Fries were good and the garlic sauce was very tasty (Sorry to anyone I talked to the rest of the day!). My husband had the gyro plate which also looked good. The plate comes with chicken, garlic sauce, rice, hummus, a side salad, and a pita. The garlic sauce to me was the star of the show. If you don't like garlic, ask to have it on the side. The food was excellent. However, they use Styrofoam boxes to serve and plastic utensils. In addition, it appears that they add a 20% gratuity without your knowledge. There are no menus, I did not get a paper receipt, and there is nothing posted that says they will add a 15 to 20% gratuity. That feels very dishonest. I went to Mr. Shawarma today to get food for the family. I was greeted right away and offered help with what they had to offer. I ordered 2 plates of the Chicken Kabobs and 1 order of the Beef Shawarma wrap with Fries. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very clean. Obviously still working out opening kinks but it really didn't take that long to wait for this food. Now for the food rating. I've never had Mediterranean food and after this visit I definitely will be having Mr. shawarma again. The kabobs were very tasty and the chicken was very tender. The salad and humus were also very good. The wrap was excellent as well. The portions were better than expected. We viewed the menu and the gentleman behind the counter offered help and make suggestions. My husband ordered a gyro and I ordered lentil soup and we were going to share a chicken shawarma. He told us they didn't have gyros and was trying to explain why. We were needing to rethink our order so we let the guy behind us go. He tried to order a gyro and was told they didn't have it, he tried to order a Kofta but they didn't have that either. They were either unable or unwilling to make a wrap with the meat, tomato, onion and tzatziki for us. We left as my husband really wanted a gyro.
