Phenomenal from the greeting (Mikey is a treasure) to the absolute pops of flavor of all the soups and sandwiches. What a unique local favorite that us gals will be coming back for! P.S. SOUP FLIGHTS say less.

Tried Tanya's for the first time today. It was very busy so we did take out. I'll give you some thoughts on each item we ordered. Artichoke and spinach soup (not pictured): I didn't try it because it just isn't my thing. That being said, I have been told that it was decent. You'll have to try it yourself. City chicken sandwich: I did have a bite of this one. It's not bad, just a little messy which is probably due to the dressing. Olive: I honestly thought this was a sandwich named after someone as many places do this, usually naming a regular customer's favorite sandwich. I was wrong. This is a very creamy chicken salad sandwich with cashews, lots of herbs (not sure what exactly) and olives. This was a very creamy sandwich that doesn't work on rye bread. It fell apart after two bites. Not a deal breaker but I didn't care for the olives. I love olives but it just doesn't really work for me. It makes for a very salty sandwich. Potato salad: this is a red potato salad with herbs. It's not overly creamy, just a tad dry though that's probably on purpose. This was ok. They do give you a lot which you could probably share. Pasta salad: this is not a vinegar heavy pasta salad. It's actually kind of sweet. It does have carrots in it so if they are not your jam it's best to skip it. Again, it's a big portion and best to share. Not pictured was the roll that came with the order. It tasted like maybe a sourdough type of roll. It's a little dense which makes it good to dip in soup. All in all, not terrible. I would definitely like to try other things on the menu.

Gumbo... blue fin gumbo?? Winfield gumbo? I can't remember but it's close to that

I have NEVER been to her shop. And I need to, however I doordash my meals from here and it's a hit every time. I had a soup sooooo good, I had to call my uncle in NC and tell him he no longer makes the best soup gumbo!!! The Sandwiches are good and every soup is amazing. You can never go wrong with any soup, they are allllll amazing. I have no room to provide any feedback on how to be better, this is a 5 star establishment.

Loved it! Driving through town looking for a quick bite and arrived just in time to open the place up! I ordered the City Chicken and it did not disappoint. The sandwich was tasty and very well-balanced. The bun was perfect and not too filling. The surprise of the meal was the tomato basil bisque soup. Very creamy. Every sandwich comes with a bowl of soup. It was a great addition to the sandwich! The wait staff was quick too. We were in and out in 20 minutes, but it was filling up for the lunch rush - even on Christmas Eve!

A local favorite, love their rotational soups and down to earth employees. Never a day it's not busy at lunch but still efficient.

There's not one thing on this menu that isn't fabulous. And even though the line will be long, it moves fast and it is worth a visit!

They have plenty of breakfast and lunch options. I ordered a Wichita club and a 5 pc BBQ chicken wings. The sandwich was good, just not enough mayo, which was ok because they have extra condiments on each table. They give you some sauce on the side that's similar to 1000 island dressing so I used that also and it turned out pretty tasty. It's a pretty big sandwich (3 big slices of sourdough bread) but could have used more lettuce . The meat was good and very thinly sliced. I didn't have room to eat the chicken wings there so I took them home. They look delicious and are covered in plenty of sauce. Good sized wings and they have other flavors also. Service was quick, friendly and easy. The place was also very clean with plenty of seating and tables.

Anyway, it's a fairly small restaurant, 8 booths for seating. The sandwiches are incredible. The Grinder is great, comes with chopped dill pickle, my personal favorite is the Hero. Comes with Cappacola Ham (YUM), Genoa Salami, Pepperoni, onion and a splash of oil. One other great feature is you can get an italian sausage sandwich, which is easily the best in town (the only other one i've come across is Mr. Goodcents, and I'm not all that fond of their food). You can get sandwiches cold or hot, on white or wheat. The Mini is around 7-8 inches (under $4 for most) and the Maxi is 12 inches (under $6 for most) Great selection, daily specials, and you can get deviled eggs on the side. The best part is either through the local coupon mailers or the local phone books (I swear, Wichita has like four of them now), you can get a buy one-get one coupon for two mini or maxi sandwiches. Two 12 inch sandwiches for $6! At work, we would pillage every phone book we could find and eat there every week. The only drawback is only having one in town makes it a pain to visit if you don't live in the area, but if you find yourself in the area sometime, it's well worth the stop.

Honestly, the meat was almost overwhelming but I powered through. I do wish they included more of the additional toppings I requested, but i could've said something as well. I just get so overwhelmed in JMS (Jersey Mikes Subs) everyone acts and talks like they know what is going on at any given moment and I am sorry I DO NOT. It is a me problem, I know. But at this age, i just get confused so easily. I didn't know I had to ASK for mayo on my sub the first time i went, i thought it was given ... and it was my mistake that cost me my pleasure. every store has just been overstimulating. so yes, the food is very delicious... ALWAYS get it MIKES way...you literally cannot eat a sub without letting MIKE get his grubby hands shove his meat in between your buns!!! I think the only think that is lacking is an additional sauce to dip it in (i've been a ride or die for the MR. John of the Jimmy spicy ranch) I could be biased, but I just love sauce. Now what I really want to talk about is the chocolate chunk cookies... oh my. I truly don't think any other cookie can top this. it's the perfect size, the dough isn't too oily, the chocolate is thick but smooth. and its not too sugary tasting either. I don't like sweets but these cookies get me as gluttonous as a fat medieval king (like with a big turkey leg and stew except its just these cookies) I probably will be back just for the cookies tbh.

Love a dive bar with some ambiance, history, and bar fare, so I was very excited when a colleague…read moresuggested the Artichoke for a quick sandwich and a beer for lunch while in Wichita for a conference. When we walked in, immediately we got seated (it was lunch on a Saturday)--got us a nice little booth with some green lit ambiance. The server checked on us to get our drinks quickly and then returned to take our order--definitely did an awesome job and thanks to the staff for all their work. Other reviews mentioned that the food wasn't necessarily the best or made in house--I can't speak to that, but I will say that the sandwich and potato salad hit the spot for me. This was exactly what I was looking for as a quick bite! I got the Famous #8 with potato salad as a side, and I ate that all up. They also had some domestic and local beers on draft, so I got an El Dorado company brew, and it hit the spot. The general Irish vibe was great, and if I get back to Wichita, I'll definitely be planning to hit up the Artichoke!

The soup is also not homemade, but it was good and was clearly from elsewhere. My sandwich was not enjoyable. As BLTs go, it was difficult to eat; the shredded lettuce was a fail, fallout everywhere, and not sure what kind of mayo they used but the flavor was not what I was expecting at all. The salad was sad for the up charge and similarly difficult to eat. My husband's sandwich was better, their signature number 8, but nothing to TikTok about. Service: 4/5 Good but not that friendly compared to the vibes the bar was giving. There was a disconnect somewhere. Ambiance: 3/5 The music started out too loud for how dead the bar was. Literally, it was us and about 6 other people but the live music was extremely loud. The singers were clearly professionals but they set themselves up for a fuller bar and were a little louder than the space required with that few people. I get that live music is loud and they eventually adjusted but initially it was jarring. They were good, but the lead singer was louder than her accompanying singer/ guitarist. I felt sad that they didn't get the chance to mix themselves better at the outset. Overall, this place should cut down their menu to items that are their best and probably have their live singers mix taking into account the number of patrons. I would probably come back but not as my first choice.
