Well this time I decided to try a salad. I got the ROADRUNNER. Instead of corn and beans I substituted crumbled bacon and croutons and I added fried chicken. It was amazing!! Since the opening of this restaurant I have not had a bad sandwich, plate or side. The flavor combos on the ingredients of any sandwich tickles the tastebuds to everyone's delight. Since it was raining outside, I didn't see anyone sitting in the patio at all which translated to longer wait times. Despite the wait, the smoked artichoke dip was delicious. However, the chicken sandwich had a little too much sauce on it so it was messy to eat with my hands, but otherwise it was delicious and crispy. Just this portion size is incredibly small and the item cost 17 dollars which I think is a bit pricey for what you get. Food was 5 stars service was 2 stars. Food... Everything was made to order. I didn't realize it was a sit down place which I wasn't expecting because it was a sandwich shoppe. The French dip was raved about. "The best French dip ever". I'm not a fan of them but I tried some and I had to go back for more. I got the fried chicken sandwich, it was good but too dry for my taste. I like a lot of sauce and flavor. This needed more of the accessories if you know what I mean. The wedge fries were also a home run. Service... it took us 30 minutes to get our two sandwiches. It was hard to get a hold of the waiter and we just went to get stuff for ourselves because it took too long. Serving half of a tiny cup of ketchup for a huge amount of fries is too little for me. Seems like they were light on all the sauces. Weren't offered to go drinks when ours were nearly full. There seemed to be a busy takeout business and next time we will go that route. Not a very big place, Saturday night about 25-30 minute wait. It is very loud, not much for intimate conversations. Service was great. Food wise Salmon dip was amazing, chicken salad sandwich was ok. First of all, thank you for gluten free options! Your menu is great, and prices are fair, and our food was fresh and delicious! Staff was friendly, and the music playlist was really perfect. and the biggest thing was them helping me out after I left my debit card there. My family and I were traveling home to Colorado, and we stopped for a midday meal. I left my card in the bill holder and didn't realize it until I arrived back home (some 6 hours away). I reached out to the restaurant, and they did indeed have my card, and were kind enough to put it in the mail, saving me great inconvenience of changing all my bank info! Service was good. The menu is very intriguing but unfortunately I felt the sandwiches we got were bland. My husband and I both got a sandwich with braised wagu, mine was listed as spicy. Neither had any flavor. We also got the buffalo chicken bread appetizer prior to and also, no flavor. It wasn't horrible by any means but underwhelming. The roasted turkey was tender and flavorful, and the garlic cream cheese with the garlic aioli gave it a rich, savory kick. First time here, great selection of sandwiches and definitely a different variety. I opted for the Golden Pheasant and it was really good. If you like salmon and want a healthier option, this is a good choice. I did get it with a side of the red slaw and I somewhat regretted that. The slaw was okay, a bit too tart for me and I do like pickled things but that paired with the sandwich wasn't great since the sandwich already came with a different type of slaw. Found that Redbird was finally open so I stopped by for lunch just before the holidays. I was surprised by the size of this place, it's very open with room to move around the tables. If you drink they do have a bar. The entire place is clean, including the bathroom. Upon entering we were greeted by the hostess and directed to place our takeout order at the bar. The person working at the bar was very nice as well as knowledgeable. Ordering was a quick process. Since it was late in the afternoon our wait was short, maybe 10 minutes. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and fries. Both were tasty. The only problem was that the sandwich wasn't pressed like most Cuban sandwiches though it is in pictures I saw in blogger articles. Red bird was something different and I love a good sandwich. So we roll in and first of Molly K was super nice and great with drink and food recomendations. I guess Tuesday is 2$ off most drinks so that started the night out already on top. I order the corn beef Reuben. My daughter ordered the chicken sandwich and they were fantastic. 3rd time here, not coming back. I have told friends I am not crazy about this place, but I went back because they told me to get the burger. I did. It was over cooked. I did not like the spicy thousand island sauce. Hardly any lettuce on it. I wish I had shown the waiter the crispy meat and got my $ back and left. 16.00 plus tip for an over cooked burger and a bag of chips. Nope will not come back. This place is so overrated. I can't say enough good things about Red Bird. Every sandwich and salad we ordered was absolutely delicious, especially the Golden Pheasant (their salmon sandwich) -- it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. What truly sets this restaurant apart, though, is their kindness and exceptional customer service. We had placed a takeout order when a family emergency came up. I called to explain that we wouldn't be able to pick up the food for a few hours, and they immediately reassured me they would refrigerate everything for us. When I finally arrived, I was so touched to find out they had actually prepared our entire order fresh instead. They also couldn't have been kinder, asking if my family was okay and showing genuine concern during what was a very stressful day. Because of that experience (and the amazing food), we ordered takeout again. We tried different sandwiches the second time, and they were just as good as the first -- consistent quality and just as delicious. We haven't had the chance to dine in yet, but I loved the vibe when I went inside to pick up our order and am really looking forward to eating there in person soon. Driving through Wichita on our way to CO from MO. Didn't want fast food. Found Red Bird on Yelp with good reviews and decided to give it a try. So glad we did!! My salad was great. I substituted the honey lemon dressing for ranch dressing. The honey lemon was delicious. My husband got the Eagle sandwich and we got an order of fries. All was very good.
