I'm not happy with this place. Couple years ago, they over charged my credit card and toke months to resolve not until I keep calling. Today, I was scheduled for an appointment at noon. After I got there, the front desk receptionist told me the appointment was at 9 AM. So at the point, it's their words against mine. Can you imagine how angry I am? Stay away!! I Went here for orthodontic treatment that was started 11/2019. The doctor would request to see me every 4-6 weeks, sometimes sooner depending on situation. Getting appointments was a nightmare. Always at least 8 weeks out at a minimum. First delay in care is there. Second, that doctor quit and I was never made aware. I saw the new orthodontist twice and he changed the course of treatment, also told me I had bone damage caused by the first orthodontist. Now they say nothing we can do for your teeth anymore...can't move them anymore. (I have major gaps still and an over bite.) Then they say by the way that doctor also quit and we don't have a replacement and no plan of care for you. Needless to say, I got two other opinions and I am taking my care elsewhere. After all this, I need to take the braces off completely and pay AGAIN for damage that they caused to my roots. This place has no continuity of care, doesn't care about their patients, rude staff, only cares about money. DONT GO! read more

I have been going to this clinic since they opened. The last 5 years or so have been the best continuity of care I've received thus far from a hygienist perspective. The dentists seem to have a high turnover rate but I don't have cavities and this my needs are maybe lesser than some. I do think they have gotten better over the years with notifying patients about departures which is helpful but I do get the sense that they may need to focus on retention of key staff. Hong is the best hygienist I've had there and I'm glad she is still there. If she leaves, I may need to consider leaving this practice. read more

I had great expectations after reading reviews. I had a cleaning it was very well done. I made an appointment for an filling two weeks after that. Appt was canceled due to a lack of dentist. Waited the whole summer for another 5 pm appt. I received the texts confirming my Appt. I just arrived and they tell me they don't have me on the schedule. They said they called and A voicemail. As mentioned by Nelson N. first reviewer here, check with the insurance and if they are in network before going there. I contacted them through web form and on the phone. I asked them repeatedly if my insurance provider is in - network and the treatment covers under my plan. The response was always yes "the treatment is covered and no worries". But when I reached there office after the initial paperwork with my signatures, they have told me that my insurance provider is not in there network.[This was told exactly at my appointment time] Seriously...!? Though it is out of network, one of the lady at the office assured that everything for the treatment will be covered except that co-pay will be required. Since the doctor was waiting for me, I didn't have the time to think about it. Finally when treatment is completed they charged 20% on my credit card. I enquired my insurance provider later that day to make sure if it the treatment was covered. The answer was NO since I did not go for a In-network provider. In short, check with the provider before even going there. Don't believe what the office staff says... they are just doing business. As for the treatment and doctor [Dr. Suzanne Konieczkowski], she was great. She answered all my questions and was very clear. Update 08/10/2016: Thanks for the feedback Mr. David. My answers for your comment ** You originally scheduled an appointment with us but then cancelled that appointment when it was explained to you that your insurance was out of network, which seems to verify that you understood this fact. ** I scheduled an appointment only once and I never cancelled the appointment. I was not mentioned that my insurance was out of network. ** A week later, you called again and wished to make an emergency appointment because you were in pain. We reminded you that your insurance was out of network but you stated that you wanted to be treated because you were in pain. ** I never made more than one appointment. I just made one appointment that too directly an emergency appointment since only emergency appointment was accepted at such a short notice and on weekend. Office staff have told me (not reminded since I heard this for the first time) that my insurance is out of network after I signed the documents. FYI, I even got a call in the morning about the confirmation of appointment and to fill-out new patient form online. During the call, I asked once again about the insurance coverage for which I was told it is covered. As you told, your staff has contacted the insurance company but then your staff assured me that they will take care of it and I will be required to pay co-pay and may be slightly more (but not the full amount). ** "what choice to I have? I'm in pain" ** Nope, I just told "what choice do I have?". Since I came long way traveling 60 miles, I did not want to waste my time again traveling. All I want to let you know is please take care of what the patients are enquiring. I accept that there is a mistake on my side too. I should have checked with my insurance before I reached you. Like most people, I don't exactly look forward to going to the dentist; hence why I waited 13 years to go back. In the past my dentists were always lecturing and kind of condescending. Well, I knew it would be a mess in there after leaving a chipped back tooth exposed for 6 years, not flossing every day and generally loving sugar so I expected a lot of judgement and disgust. Quite the opposite; the doctor and assistants were all very kind and while they educated me on how to take better care they never made me feel like a terrible person. Now I'm not saying I'm looking forward to having more work done and cavities filled, but they made sure I was completely comfortable at all times so if I have to get it done then I'm going to Great Hill. read more

I requested an hygienist. I was told I was going to have my teeth cleaned by a doctor instead. As I arrived, my favorite hygienist was leaving. I had her at another dentist who no longer exist.. As I entered the examination room, they tell me I will have my cleaning done by another hygienist. OK.. Cleaning done and x-rays.- the doctor comes in and tells me that she thought I had a cavity on a molar and that the cost would be over $2,000.00 because I had a crown. I mailed a check for $15 to get a copy of my records in order to get a second opinion. I received an email with a copy of 2 x-rays and no report. I called and was told that they do not provide copies of reports. I find that ridiculous and will follow up. For me the experience was shady. read more

I had a consultation with Dr. Goodman on June 8 for the pinhole procedure. He was phenomenal and I was told the coordinator would contact me on Monday regarding the scheduling of the procedure and the cost. I Then received a message from the office asking if I wanted to reschedule my original consult appointment that I missed. I called back and explained to them that I had my consultation and was waiting for the information to proceed. They told me again that the office coordinator would contact me within the next business day and sure enough, no one called. I have called two more times and left a message and was promised last Wednesday that she would call me Thursday before noon that they were sorry. Sure enough, she didn't call. It is a shame that such an excellent periodontist has such an incompetent office staff that he will lose patients because of it. read more

My spouse and I used to go to HVMA dental and then it transitioned to this practice. The front desk staff are much friendlier and I don't have any complaints about my cleanings. The insurance charges for my spouse's fillings have been spot on, so no unexpected adjustments later at this point. There was a filling that did not quite fix the issue and they fixed it at no cost. Since it still didn't take, we had to go in for a root canal recently. I was super on top of them regarding the cost and came in $85 under budget - and they already gave us the estimate for the crown. I know part of that has to do with the insurance company, but I've been happy with this practice so far. read more

After having a wonderful experience at the Great Hill Dental location in Davis Square, I decided to make sure that my baby sister was more proactive with her dental health and I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Thaker. Her initial appointment was in the Somerville office but after being informed by Dr. Thaker that she was in the Braintree office during the week as well, we decided to take her there instead due to locational convenience. My sister had two fillings done in the Braintree office - one which almost required a root canal! Dr. Thaker's assistant brought my sister and I into the room and she showed my sister exactly what was being used (aside from the sharper tools that would scare a child). She was even shown the filling material itself which interested my sister and made her less nervous. Some numbing gel was applied, drooling ensued, and when it was time for the fillings my sister was given some funky sunglasses (the kids' version of the glasses we are given in case of water splashes) and Dr. Thaker went to work. She checked up on my sister, counted down the drilling/filling/etc., and even helped me better understand the fillings themselves during the procedure. My sister didn't feel a thing and even when the Novocaine wore off, the pain was minimal. Dr. Thaker is a phenomenal pediatric dentist and really understands a child's frame of mind when it comes to dental procedures. One star lost due to the crabby receptionist. She was completely disinterested, did not even greet us upon arrival, and made it known with eye rolls and sighs that she had zero interest in being there. read more

I recently switched from my long time dentist after moving to the Boston area. I am very impressed with this practice, especially Katherine, a secretary/receptionist who works at the front desk. She is extremely professional, personable, and very kind. She makes going to the dentist a much more pleasant experience. The dentists have been excellent, also. For my past two cleanings, I have been very impressed with my visits. On both occasions, I had Sochita as my hygienist. She was gentle yet thorough with the cleaning. I had a back tooth filled at Great Hill Dental Partners in Braintree, which numbed almost one side of my mouth. After the procedure and some rest, I went to the gym where I began to feel my tongue swelling. I was just about to head to a hospital, fearful of some kind of allergic reaction, when I took one last look and saw a cotton wad still in my mouth. I pulled it out and was fine. When I called to complain, I received the most condescending replies I have ever had from a medical practitioner. Such as, "We always put those in" and "even the children get them," to prove that I was just an adult complainer who should have known better. Adult complainer or not, I did not need the worry, the fear of an unknown swelling reaction or even the anger at the office who failed to inform me of the cotton wad. The two people I spoke were both unhelpful and completely unapologetic. They, of course, kept the full payment mistake or not. Don't go there. read more

WHO are these people who are leaving these glowing reviews? I have been going for years and it's been mixed, depending on who I saw. I am writing now because my kids have been getting braces there and though Dr Salem is okay -- not exactly warm but okay -- the assistants are terrible. When we have questioned a procedure, their attitude has been "Well, OF COURSE this is what happens", like we should know. It's bad enough when it happens to an adult but for a kid? Unacceptable. They don't explain what's happening and then use a condescending tone. Also, the receptionist needs to get a new job. Clearly she should not be working with the public since she seems annoyed every time I am there. Take your kids elsewhere! read more

I had a great first experience with Great Hill Dental (Braintree location)! The office is bright and welcoming, all of the staff (administrative, dental hygienist, and dentist) were friendly, and the cleaning was comfortable. (I've had cleanings that were very uncomfortable and/or messy which is really annoying.) I learned that it's owned and operated by the dentists, so they're invested in the practice which is nice. They also have pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and a few other specialties all in the same place which is very convenient. I'm taking my one-year-old in for his first dentist visit ever in a few months. I'll review their pediatric dentistry then, but if it's anything like the rest of their practice I'm sure I'm going to be pleased. They've only been in operation for a little over a year and have a few different locations in the Greater Boston area - I would highly recommend this group! read more
