The best design clothing store in LA. It is a consignment store. You can find clothes there for any taste, style, fashion for the best prices. All clothes are in very good condition or with a tag. The stuff is very kind, professional, patient. I recommended that store to all my friends and for last three years we have been shopping only at that store. I came here the other day to browse and see what they had. The place is packed with tons of designer clothes, shoes, and accessories. Clothing is separated by type - tops, jackets, pants, etc. and there are several different areas with shoes throughout the store. They also sell handbags and some jewelry. In the back, there's a clearance rack for both clothes and shoes. The day that I came they were having a sale of 40% off shoes and 30% off handbags. I wish they had had more shoes in my size so I could have taken advantage of the sale! I sadly did not find anything to buy here. The service here was great. I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door, told about the sale, and had an offer for help if I needed it. I liked how the sales associates were attentive but not overly so and certainly not pushy. I spent a while browsing in the store and tried on a few things, but unfortunately did not find anything to buy. I took off one star because some of the items seemed to be pretty overpriced (not much off retail even though they were used) and some of the items were not in great shape (small tears on the leather on shoes, pulls in the clothing, etc.). Overall though, this seems like a great place to come to find some deals on designer clothing. I also noticed while I was here that many of the customers were greeted by name, so clearly they get a lot of repeat business. Reviewed as a consignor: consigned a few thousand dollars worth of clothing and accessories here over 2-3 years and had mixed results. Occasionally very helpful and nice staff and occasionally very rude stressful staff. While everything sold pretty quickly and I was happy to get the checks in the mail efficiently-- I had a particularly bad experience with "high ticket" items. For example, a brand new pair of size 8 nude YSL Tribute sandals worth $700-900. I think they sold for $80 (so I only got $40).... which seems like a terrible deal for anyone but the buyer? I recently switched to The Real Real and sold an almost identical pair for $400 net. I would keep consigning with GL for most clothing but will not be taking my designer things there again! read more

Top 5 starts!! First time I came to this beautiful boutique store in Santa Monica, CA. Great Labels offers so many variety of luxury handbags, clothing and accessories. I was impress coming to this location as my first time. The staff were very friendly and helpful with searching for anything in particular. I discovered this shop while here on business a few years ago; the ambiance and selection of clothing & handbags is always great. The staff is happy and helpful, particularly Andrea. She understands when a customer wants to browse uninterrupted or when they want a genuine opinion. Andrea has a true sense of style, and she's never steered me wrong when I've pondered whether to buy something or not. This store has a great selection of all types of brands, clothing, accessories, etc. Nonetheless, while you're shopping they can also take a look at any of your older clothes that you no longer want to put up on consignment. They are really fair with the prices, which I've noticed is hard to come by at other consignment stores in the area. Another thing they have to offer is great customer service! The owner of Great Labels is a disaster. When there was an issue the sales price not being accurately adjusted on my bill, she spoke extremely rude to me and even had the audacity to hang up on me. When I called back because I was owed $190 her employee answered and her heard her in the background yelling " I can't deal with her" When I purchased my items she wasn't in even in the store, but she accused me of leaving the store with items that still had sensors on them which was completely untrue. The sale items are unorganized and I would NEVER recommend this store to anyone because the owner doesn't have manners or any sense of customer service. please avoid this store!! Trust me read more

DO NOT CONSIGN HERE if you want to make a decent amount on your clothing. I had a $595 Ulla Johnson dress WITH TAGS STILL ON she said she would price it at $200. So if I'm lucky I would make $80 on the dress but potentially $25!! On a brand new $595 dress. The REAL reason for this one star review is how the owner handled the following: I had explained on the phone that my client was NOT willing to go to the 50% off and she asked what brands I had, when I told her they were very high end (Chanel, Oscar, Valentino, The Row) she said I should bring the stuff in but would i be willing to take 10% off and I agreed. I loaded up all the clothes on a day it was pouring and headed 20 min to the store. Andrea, the owner, started looking through the things and when I went to confirm they wouldn't be marked down to 50% off, she said she never said that, her employee did. She took absolutely no accountability for wasting my time. Didn't apologize for the misunderstanding. Didn't offer to help me bring all my things back out (she didn't help me bring them in either). Even worse, she was surprised I seemed upset about the situation! After she basically called me a liar. I couldn't believe her lack of professionalism, but more-so her lack of kindness. read more

I've visited this store on more than a couple of occasions, but felt that The Address boutique down the street had far nicer items (more upscale) and lower prices on high end items (Gucci, Jil Sander, Prada, Armani etc.). Also, I wasn't impressed with their sales people as they had far too much attitude. If I walked in dressed in an expensive ensemble I received far better treatment than the times I'd worn mid-range casual wear. I have to say that the last time I'd entered their store I'd had a terrible experience. I'd found a gorgeous, like-new, shearling coat at a fabulous price. Ever since high school, I'd dreamed of owning one, but it hadn't warranted me cleaning out my bank account. Generally, long, midi length shearlings run into thousands of dollars. I'd excitedly pulled out my wallet, and was just about to pay for my unanticipated treasure. Suddenly, the owner told me that she'd have to firstly call the woman who'd consigned the beauty. I was more than a bit confused as it had already been priced. She then told me that the woman decided that she'd wanted Substantially More Money for her coat(perhaps I'd acted too excited about purchasing it)? "Excuse me, is this practice legal?" In lieu of resorting to profanity, I let myself out and was more than a bit miffed. Pass. Update: I think it nice that the owner apologized (look below), however if it were my store, I would of given an explanation as to why the coat was suddenly upped in price, and made up for it, by giving the customer a significant discount off of her next purchase. read more

Brought my wife here over the weekend to check out. Sales person was "pay no mind" to us, not even a glance. Whatever biatch. Lots of stuff in here, but for the older set. We purchased nothing. Used purses? No ma'am. The ones we saw were used and beat. IMO: go to Loehmann's in BH. or even check out the end of season at Sak's and Nordstrom's. Skip a few fancy meals and coffees and get yourself a new purse. Or get yourself a sugar daddy. What ever it takes. Gripping someone else's hand sweat...sick. I'm serious. The discount is not worth it. My observations: place smells of old and stank. This could be caused by the refusal to turn on the A/C or open a WINDOW. Seriously. This is the best resale store ever! Seriously, it has it all: -Parking -Clean -Really nice inside -Helpful and friendly salespeople -Ridiculously well-organized -High-end designer merchandise -Less nice designer merchandise (good to have a variety!) -Lots of sales happening all the time! -Lots of new things coming in all the time! Their organization here is so on point. There is the clearance section, with the most intense markdowns. I once got my mom a very cute jacket from this section (with the tags still on!) for only $15! You can find a dress section, a blouse section, a pants section, a jackets section, etc. EVERYTHING IS ORGANIZED BY SIZE!!! Even the clearance section! Then you will find the marked-down dress section, the marked-down jacket section, the marked-down shoe section. Shopping here is a breeze with the way they have things organized! Not too much vintage here, but there are a couple of pieces mixed in here. I resisted buying a beaded Oleg Cassini top for $45 (marked down from $90, in the 50% off blouses section). My pet peeve with lots of resale stores is that they hold onto merchandise forever. This place really keeps things moving, so if something isn't selling, they just continue to mark it down until someone actually buys it. Then I can actually spend money here because I'll find a great deal that I can't pass up. They are always getting in new things so you can come back here again and again and it's not the same old stuff. It keeps things fresh and exciting. If you want perfect designer Chanel clothing/ accessories, and all those other designers, you've got that here too. Did I mention I once got a teal patent leather Marc Jacobs clutch (a big one!!) here for only $65?? There is something here for everyone. I have been shopping here for 4 years and I use to avoid the nasty store manager like the plague, but ding dong the witch is dead (well, actually retired) and there are nicer ladies working there now. Amen! They have a keen eye in spotting faux and knock-off goods, so they are a lot more trustworthy when you are buying handbags and ultra high end pieces. I noticed some of the other consignment stores do not have as much experience spotting phonies. They also keep abreast with all the latest styles and fashion magazines. Many of their consignment clients are ultra wealthy and consign pieces which are currently in magazines. Sometimes they cut out these clippings and pin it to the suit so you can know it is a fresh look from that season. They have great sales racks of 50% and 75% off good which makes things very affordable. If you are a size 8, 10 or 12, you will either hit the jackpot because no one else is this size, or you won't find a darn thing because many ladies who consign their pieces have small figures. If this is the case, you still can make out like bandit when it comes to shoes and accessories. It is worth signing up for their email list, as they send you coupons and info about upcoming sales. Sometimes it can be a hit and miss, but don't fret, there is always the Address next door, Haute Seconds up the street and Crossroads on 4th. read more

This may be my favorite designer resale shop in Los Angeles! The selection and quality of clothing here is really second to none. Most lovely, the shop is spacious enough to roam freely, although some of the racks are a bit jammed with clothing. Clothing ranges from higher-end "mall" brands like Ann Taylor and J. Crew, through mid-range Bloomingdales/Nordstrom's contemporary brands like Tory Burch, Milly and Trina Turk, to the highest-end designers, like St John, Chanel, Alexander Wang and Pucci. Prices are a bit higher here than at some of the other Santa Monica resale shops, although the quality and selection here makes it worth it. And, there is always several 50% off racks and an EXCELLENT clearance rack, with amazing pieces, many at under $20. Expect to pay between $70 and $300 for most full-price items. Also, do check out the shoe selection; I have found some amazing deals on both Jimmy Choos and Manolo Blahniks at this store. The handbag selection is less astonishing, but the store does seem to boast some impressive jewelry and accessories (Hermes scarves, Tiffany jewelry, sunglasses). Most of the staff is extremely helpful and upbeat, and the dressing rooms are quite large and accommodating. Leave at least an hour to peruse the store, and have fun!! read more

I really need to come back here when I have a few more bucks in my wallet... The deals are fantastic if you really want to have the BEST designers for a more reasonable price. Not cheap. You're still looking at a few hundred bucks for the nicer things... unless you're lucky enough to find something on the 50% or 75% off racks... and even then.. the nicer stuff is still gonna cost you $100+ That being said. Where else can you get a nearly new Marc Jacobs purse for $300?! Seriously. You can get a great deal on shoes too... but I still have a tough time wearing someone else's shoes... And um... unless you're a size 2... which I'm farrrr from... it's going to be tough to find the good stuff that fits... Damn those European designers. I did try on some Armani (Collezioni...) pants and a skirt, both new, with the tags... which were only $50... but didn't quite make the cut for me. (Oh -- the whole fitting room thing though -- what's up with the sheer curtains? God, I realize I'm trying on European clothes, but I'm still a puritanical American and like a little privacy... ) Still... fifty bucks for Armani Collezioni... that's an amaazzing deal. I'm also thinking that because the inventory constantly changes, there are always going to be new things... so I'll probably be back to see if there's anything new and fantastic... And I'm still drooling over the Marc Jacobs purses.... so I might have to save a little cash and give into the temptation... read more

Best of the consignment shops in Santa Monica. Very well stocked with designer product, except I expected more Chanel, D&G, Dior. Mostly I found designers lower on the totem pole. Not a problem, I still purchased some basics. They have a coupon on line for 10% off, so don't be shy about using it. I especially enjoyed the honesty when something didn't look like it fit. I loath the young rookies at Nordstom who constant tell me how cute something is. Frankly I don't need any input from someone making a commission or sales points. Iris at G.L. was helpful without crowding me. Store is clean, organized and nice size dressing rooms. I would recommend hitting this shop first. There's a couple of shops within 3 blocks and I found their prices much higher and staff smothering. read more

Great Labels is one of my favorite places to go when I need some retail therapy. I've picked up a $1000 Jill Stuart jacket for $150, a Valentino skirt for $30, and a YSL sweater for $40. Unlike Crossroads, Buffalo Exchange and other such stores, you don't have to dig far to find that drop dead gorgeous piece. The helpful ladies of Great Labels have done the hunting for you. The store is just the right size for 1-2 hours of browsing without tiring oneself out. You can usually find me poking around the 20-50% sale racks, which always have a good selection of tops, pants, shoes, hats, and handbags. If you find your must-have items exceed your monthly budget, Great Labels also offers a nifty lay-away program. I actually went to this store today based on Ashley G's recommendation and walked out with two pairs of adorable designer summer sandals (from a wide selection). The owner was terrific and HONEST...I was so in love with one pair of heels but she shook her head: too big. I'd given myself only 20 minutes to shop before I picked up the kids from school and that was a mistake. I vow to go back when I have more time. read more

Great Labels is a well-organized store with an impressive array of designer clothes. Perusing through the racks, I saw lots of beautiful pieces like coats and shirts by Comme des Garcons, Givenchy dresses, leather jackets from Prada and Tory Burch, etc, etc. Basically a TON of designer ready to wear, mostly for the 25+ age group, as a lot of the other yelpers said. Prices were mostly in the $200-500 range, although there were 50% and 75% off racks that had some great deals in them. This store had a great selection of high end shoes and a decent amount of designer handbags, but I wasn't too impressed with the pricing. $200 Tory Burch Revas were $150 here--I'd rather get them new, in the store, for $50 more frankly! However, everything was in great shape, and many of the items were very current. The service was good if you asked for it, otherwise they left you alone--which is the way it should be! Bottom line: I'd come back here if I had a special event that I needed a killer dress for, or if I was looking for my yearly designer handbag indulgence. I was impressed with the range of this Wilshire store. Immediately, to the right of the front door were the shoes that were new to the store, all arranged by size, a blessing. There was a rack devoted to Chanel and another to Missoni and one to Marc Jacobs. There were new arrivals racks and tons of 50% off racks and 75% off racks and a rack in the back where pieces went from 5 dollars to 50 or so. There was a wall of shoes and another of bags that were 50% off and then all of the regularly priced bags were back behind the counter. The merchandise was well edited and organized meticulously. I was suitably impressed with everything but their jean selection which was atrocious! The space was large and well-stocked and I would definitely return here to buy a special piece or just for fun. Made the mistake of seeing this little gem while driving home from the beach! I say it was a mistake because its a new favorite of mine. I happened to notice the window display and saw a few Herve Leger dresses in the window and could not believe it. I had never been to a consignment/ resale shop before and thought they only sold used old junk. Not this little beauty, no sir not at Great Labels! When you first walk in you'll she a big desk where most of the associates are keeping a watchful eye over the merchandise and the customers. I find this to be professional myself, though some may think they are just bored or watching for thieves, which they may very well be, but after interacting with them I don't find that to be the case. On your right you will see shoes! Good ones, seriously! Prada, Gucci, Fendi, CHANEL, Yves Saint Laurent and Loubies! Most are in excellent condition and have been worn or tried on maybe three to five times, some haven't been worn at all! Those that are a little beyond their prime days are often times market to move at 75% off! You will also see an ULTRA Reduced rack filled with things, some of which still have their original tags on them! The store is meticulously sized, which is amazing, and organized based on what the garment is: New arrivals, sweaters, pants, skirts, dresses, day dresses, evening, t shirts, etc. Towards the back there is another section filled with little gems that are marked 50% off! The finds are incredible! Here you can find even more fabulous shoes like Chanel, Prada, etc marked even lower than you could ever imagine! There is a huge mirror for those that aren't shy to walk out of the fitting rooms to see the garments in a new light! The fitting rooms are a bit small, but it gives it a boutique atmosphere. Parking is always a breeze on the street side, or you can just swing around the back where they have their own designated spots! Get this, they even have a bathroom for customers to use! It's a cute one too, painted nicely, fresh smelling, CLEAN!!!! This is my new favorite store if I can't run into Bloomies or Saks! read more

I find the prices very reasonable and the owner and the staff really nice and helpful. The merchandise ranges from high end designer, chanel, Dior, YSL to less well know designers but always a great find to be had. I find the layaway plan to be helpful when I really want something but short of cash to pay for the entire item . They also offer great items for 50-75% off.
