I left Kroger with $150 worth of groceries in 90 degree heat with my twin babies to find my vehicle key fob wasn't working in the shared parking lot, with Ace. I couldn't get into my car. I went into Ace hoping they could replace the key fob battery. Not only did they replace the battery quickly, the manager followed me to my car and offered to jump it, if it wouldn't start. I decided to start shopping Ace because I don't support some of the ideals of the big box stores. I had to make an emergency trip here moments before closing because we were having toilet trouble. Still my go to hardware store. Great service. Staff always friendly. If they don't have what I am looking for they can usually get. This last trip had me looking for some parts for a oil lamp and they had it. I like knowing that all the staff will help out with customers so you are not waiting for one person to help. If no one is checking out the cashier gets on the floor to assist. Always helpful. A go to place in my book. read more

Long time loyal customer but no more. Had surgery and couldn't drive so placed online order of 4 items for home delivery. Was charged 35 dollars for same day and 25 for next day. Well it is next day and still items not arrived. Emailed customer service asking for my 10 dollar expedited delivery fee back and they refused. ACE lost a loyal customer over 10 dollars they didn't deserve or deliver. There are plenty of other competitors out there. See ya Ace! read more

Need a car key cut? Skip this place and check out XG Lock n key. Look up the Yelp and Google reviews for XG--he delivers on his promises. I came to Ace with a blank key that needed to be laser cut and programmed. Apparently, this location will not cut a blank car key that you bring in. Fine, I get it, they don't want to be liable for cutting a key that doesn't work, but still annoying. So, you must buy the Duracell key from them and have them program it. After talking it up and saying that they guarantee the key will work with my car, I agreed to use their key and had them cut the key and try to program it. An hour later, no luck. They then took a copy of my car registration and said they had to talk to Duracell to get the pin code for my car. They said they would follow up within 24 hours. I don't pay anything, but walk out annoyed. 24 hours later. No one calls me back. I call XG lock n key, a local locksmith named Xavier. He comes to my house, programs and cuts 2 keys for me, for much less than what Ace Hardware would have charged. And, the great thing is that Xavier got the keys cut and programmed in ten minutes. He said that there is no such thing as a pin code for my car. It is programmed using a sequence. So the lesson here is that Ace Hardware at this location will talk it up and say that they can program and cut you a key if you buy one of theirs. But, they waste your time and don't deliver. 1 star is for the employee who cut my key and really wanted to help me, but had his hands tied because his manager was watching and wouldn't let him program a blank key I brought in. Hope this review saves you time and trouble. And I hope you never cut another car key again, Ace. read more

The staff at the store on Ann Arbor Rd and Sheldon are amazing. The way the store employees treated every customer had that "small town" feel, where every customer was important. I had time to watch as I brought in 27....yes 27...screens for repair/replace. They were very patient and never complained once having to log each screen individually. It was a lot of work for sure. Dropped off the screens Thursday and the following Tuesday I received a call that they were ready. The price was on-point as well. When I went to pick them up, they directed me to the back, where a nice young man helped me load them in the trunk. It took two trips, but they are now back on the windows. read more

I went in to get a key made and I grabbed another item. The girl who made the key was quick and pleasant. I was confused by the other item - there were two different price markers for that item on the shelf. I went to check out and it rang up for the higher price. I mentioned it to the young man at the register. He went to check it and said it should have been the lower price. He needed an override on the register - he couldn't do it. He paged the manager. She was standing close by talking to somebody and ignoring him. I tried to get her attention - nothing. I'm disabled and can't stand in one place for a long time. This felt like it went on forever - numerous other ppl checked out while I waited. I finally just left the items and walked out. read more
