I don't even want to give this airline ONE star. Every time I have returned from Denver to my home in Sheridan, WY the flights have been several HOURS late. The last time, the flight was cancelled for mysterious reasons, and although it was only 1 PM there was only one other flight out and it was full (apparently the other 3 flights that were supposedly leaving from Denver to Sheridan were also cancelled even though they were FULL). I ended up renting a car and paying a hefty price to drive all the way back to Sheridan -and it was worth it!
Once, Great Lakes made us stop from Sheridan in Riverton on our way to Denver and neglected to tell any of the passengers this UNTIL we WERE ALREADY ON THE PLANE and taxiing! Most of the people on the flight missed their connections and had to reschedule.
Today, my parents were coming to visit me. They were supposed to land in Sheridan at 12:15. Well, after they watched all the baggage being loaded onto the plane, the took it off again. A pilot came inside and told everyone that there was too much weight on the plane so they had to cancel the flight, inconvieniencing EVERYONE on board. A smart person would think that they would just ask a few people to choose stand by instead of canceling the whole flight. They also cancelled the next flight and all the other ones were already full. And even worse, now they're telling everyone it was a "mechanical problem". In my experience with Great Lakes, "mechanical problem" is just a bullsh*t excuse so they don't have to really explain to the customers how stupid they all are.
There are many planes just sitting on the tarmac, not even being used. Why wouldn't they just substitute a plane, or perhaps fly another one down if there was a mechanical problem.
My parents have been speaking to a man who was supposed to arrive in Sheridan yesterday and he is still there waiting for his flight.
What's wrong with this picture?
I thought airlines were supposed to get people to places ON TIME. Not "in a timely manner", ON TIME. For me this was a trip home, but for many people, Sheridan is a vacation destination. How would you feel if you were using some of your well-earned vacation time to travel and you wasted a whole day or more all because an airline can't get their sh*t together?
I would never recommend this airline to anyone. Definitely go out of your way to drive to an airport further away and pay for the ridiculous parking fees .... time is more precious. read more
