Without any doubt, Great Plains Auto Body made my recent experience so painless, smooth, fast and pure perfection in their work!! From the check-in staff of Danielle and AJ, to Jimmy my service advisor, to Tre the wonderful guy that runs customer transport they were ALL so teriffic! I had a door dent on a crease that was no doubt obvious to see, but hard to get to. I was told up front that a simple dent pull may not make it 100%, but it DID! Well, that and some extra work. I received timely text updates throughout the two day service period. And when it was finished, Jimmy called to ask if I wanted to see it before putting things back together. I couldn't have been more pleased and satisfied! Tre was so wonderful in taking me home when I dropped off the Explorer, and then offered to return when finished. I got a ride to pick it up. And Tre made sure it was clean (spotless) for me, inside and out!!? It looked better than when I bought it 3 weeks earlier! Thank you Great Plains! I was told to use this business by my insurance company. There was delay after delay in getting my vehicle back to me. For 3 days (encompassing two work weeks & a weekend), each day I was told it would be ready the next day. Maybe not a big deal to a person who has a rental car and doesn't need to go to out of town for work occasionally, but a huge deal for someone who does. Each time they told me it would be ready the next day, meant delaying my trip. Not to mention those 3 delays included a weekend which meant more rental car charges. Customer service 101, apologize for inconvenience and apologize for delays. Not once did they apologize,instead they gave excuses & justification. No matter how justified you think you are, in customer service when inconveniencing your customers and forcing their schedule to rebuild around yours - apologize for it. Without an apology you just seem like a rude & selfish jerk (Travis). You come across like how you impact another person's schedule is of little regard to you. To make matters worse, there's still a piece that is damaged that they didn't think to include. Because supposedly all the damage was below. Which is funny because obviously it wasn't all below. The majority of the damage might have been below but a chipped section happened a few inches above. They say they'll call me. Yeah right. I looked the piece up. It's not expensive at all (under $50). And Travis even said it would only take about 10 minutes (which means going back there) but I'm sure if/when they do call it'll be a few hundred dollars, more than 10 minutes & not covered by insurance because it's a couple inches above the other damage. Also, I think I have the same issue as Mary L stated in her review, even though her repair was years ago. On the adjuster's estimate for my car, there's listed a bumper clip with the part number. But nowhere on my final ticket is a bumper clip listed. Do they not like putting them on? Also my car drives much different now. I just picked it up last night and drove straight to my repair place but it was too late to have them look at it. I'll be stopping by there again this morning because even though I need to go out of town, now I have to take time to make sure it's ok. Overall I don't think I'd recommend this place based on their lack of customer service, quickness to justify but not apologize for forcing me to change my work schedule for basically 2 full work weeks, leaving off something that the adjuster put on his estimate (if it's not needed that should be explained because when a person sees it on the estimate but not on the final paperwork, it's cause for concern) & they're failure to look a couple inches higher to replace a chipped chrome (plastic) cheap piece. And hopefully my repair place said it's ok even though it drives different because I really need to go out of town today. Which is something someone trained in car repairs AND customer service would know (explain any differences so the customer isn't concerned if there's no reason to be). One last thing, apparently the shop manager never learned how to handle criticism. When I told him I thought he was rude for his total disregard for inconveniencing my work schedule (& that if my Reps) without even the slightest apology, he replied with defensive sarcasm. When I called him out on his rude defensive sarcasm, he proceeded to tell me I was the worst customer he'd ever had. He's obviously in the wrong line of work since he can't take criticism, can't apologize, disregards the scheduled of others (disrespectful) & responds to criticism with Jr High sarcasm. read more

I had a small accident with my Avalanche and my insurance company gave me some suggestions on body shops. I chose Great Plains for its location on Maple St as opposed to 3 other shops that were going to be quite a ways from my residence. Great Plains scheduled my estimate for a couple of days after I called them and in turn just a few days later to actually perform the work. The staff were most professional, friendly and accommodating with me and kept me informed of the work being done and the time schedule via text and email. When I got my vehicle back, (and earlier than expected) it was done beautifully and right the first time. As an added bonus, they had the whole truck cleaned inside and out, better than when they received it. I will definitely recommend this company to everyone I know that needs a body shop. read more

I would definitely recommend Great Plains if you need any body/repair work done on your car. They will text you or call you, depending on the frequency you signed up for, to let you know of the progress of your repairs; which mine was estimated to take up to 11 days, but was done in 5 days! They are very polite and helpful and will go over all the repairs when you come to pick your car. Not a bad first time experience with this body shop. read more

Their prices are great and they give you options unlike dingmans auto body who only wanted to replace rather than try fix the problem so they can squeeze that much money out of you. TheY are certified with Honda, GM, Ford etc. They go out of their way to make sure you are fully taken care and that you are happy with The repairs they have made. To this point, it has been my practice that if a business does not meet my expectations, I will check in but I do not go back and write a review. This experience is making me change my practice because it is one I need to share. I had an accident on November 24th, 2014. I called American Family Insurance right away and I wanted to take my car to Atchley Ford as their customer service and respect towards me as a customer has been top notch. My insurance company said "they are not one of our preferred vendors and the benefit you have by using a preferred vendor is a lifetime warranty on the work". I then asked them for a list. Great Plains Auto Body was the closest to home and work so I went with them. When I got to the body shop, I asked for just an approximate date of completion. I was told around December 12th considering that Thanksgiving was in a few days and parts may be delayed. This was acceptable to me considering the damage. On December 12th at 4:28pm, I received a voice-mail that it would not be ready and that they would keep me posted. On December 18th, I was told that my car should be ready until Friday, December 19th. On Friday the 19th at 3:07 PM, I received a voice-mail that the car would not be completed and that it was looking like Monday, December 22nd. I called Great Plains Auto back and explained how I have been very patient and that I was totally unhappy at this point and it was an inconvenience as I had made plans for having transportation that weekend. The male employee set me up to have a rental over the weekend at their expense. On Monday, December 22nd at 2:55pm, I received a call that my car would be ready at about 5pm. I got there at 5: and waited for about 20 minutes while they cleaned the car. The female employee came in and told me that the car was ready to look over. She then told me that the low tire pressure light was on and the air bag light was on. Note the air bag light was not on before the accident nor was it on after the accident as I started the car and let it run to check out any warning lights. The tire light was on since the tire was flat from the accident but it now has a new tire on. I then asked if they could not fill the tires with air, she said the tech was gone but she found a helper. He filled the tires but the light was still on, she said it probably has to be driven a while before the light goes out but that has never ever been the case. She then told me she was going to call the car rental and get me the rental back because they would probably have to take my car to a dealership to see what the 2 issues were and they would have to charge American Family for the work. HMMM?? When the rental car arrived, he said Great Plains is paying??? The female employee stated should it not be American Family? Car rental said the male said that he was taking care of the rental because car was not ready when promised. Another note, my deductible is $500.00 but when I got there, the paperwork said I owed $549.00. I am at such a loss with all of this as I have never ever experience anything like this before. Tomorrow is yet another day and I will update my rating when car is picked up, maybe I will be feeling better about this business at that time. Now to finish the rest of the story...My car was ready on Christmas Eve..With the consideration of everything I have gone through with this one incident, the quality of the work that was performed on my car is Excellent, so I am changing my rating to higher...The question for me...Would I refer a friend to this body shop for repairs?....YES! read more

I was instructed by my insurance company to use this shop in July of 2012, after I was rear ended at a stop light. I had many other shops closer to my house, but was trying to cooperate. I dropped off my Toyota Sienna and got a rental Dodge Minivan. Not the quality I would expect for my loan car, and it had poor visibility. Several days later, I picked up my car and went to the store. Upon leaving the store, I noticed my rear bumper was pulling apart from the vehicle. I discovered it would pull completely away or snap back into place. Everytime I drove this happened. I went back and asked about this and was told "That's how Toyotas are made. You can do that to any Toyota Sienna." As a loyal Toyota driver, I went to my dealership and asked. Perhaps I had never noticed this before and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. OF course the brand new Siennas didn't have this "feature". The salesman found me a comparable year Sienna and we couldn't get it to pull away from the vehicle, like mine would. I called the shop again and told them they could contact Toyota to find out about the construction of their vehicles. I considered letting Toyota fix it, as well. They said bring it back in and they would fix it. I told them I would take it to the GPAB shop nearer my house. Another few days later it was fixed to my satisfaction. They had not put clips on the bumper. These had to be added. This was an easy fix in my untrained opinion. A simple bumper from a rear end collision. To add insult to injury. A week later, the auto rental company that did business through GPAB sent me a letter claiming that I had caused extensive damage to their minivan. They claimed undercarriage damage, scratches and dents and destruction to the driver side floor. I drove it to and from the shop and to the grocery. I turned it in at the front door and thought they had done an adequate inspection of the van, upon it's return. I wrote a letter complaining about the charges. A week later the rental company wrote saying that they had let go of a manager and to disregard the letter. All in all this was a terrible transaction and I will not return! read more

These guys always are the first people I go to with any issues or accidents "not that I have lots" but scratched to just logo from car dealer coming off and leaving glue spot they will help me through anything and will always make me satisfied! My Mercedes E350 got t-boned in a hit and run car crash. Given the extensive damage I was not surprised when I dropped it off June 9th and wouldn't get it back till July 7th. I was contacted July 6th and told it would take a whole week extra. Once that week had past while driving down to pick it up I was contacted again saying it is going to take another week. Once I finally picked it up 7 weeks after dropping it off, I went to sell it and the dealership said they're we're still warning lights on. I had to bring it BACK again and took another week to fix Trust they had missed the first time. I will NOT be getting my car fixed here again. read more

I went too great plains in November.I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic coupe,the second day I had it,my husband backed into it.My first choice was Daves Auto Body,but they were booked until end of December.So the second choice was Great Plains.They had my car for a week,at the Emmet location.The guy I dealt with was Travis,he came across ok at first when he did my estimate,He had a look that he was listening,but was looking rt through me. I picked car up after one week,got home and noticed that the paint was thick in spots,they cracked the front headlight,and they didn't match up the front panel with the hood.So I didn't want to deal with that location as they did a horrible job.so I got ahold of the main office on Grover st.I dealt with Ed.I left my car once again for a day,they corrected problems.I had too put $50 down on my debit card for a rental,got that money back 3 days later,what if I didn't have $50 in my bank? The point it wasn't my fault that I had too return too them to correct there miss hap! I have lifetime,but not happy.I know it's not there fault that m husband accident ply backed into it,but they didn't do there job correct.I will not recommend them. read more

These guys repaired my Lexus 350 with a panel from Lexus that had a die mark it in. Went ahead and used it anyway, they told me "well, we';ve already painted it, so can't get a new panel". They did try to patch the die mark and it turned out sort-of OK. But bottom line., that panel should have never been used in the first place. I've had other issues there too - a van where the inside door panel fell off, my son's Saturn where the paint didn't last, and so on. I'd go somewhere else if I were you. read more

Great company, takes care of there customers. I took my truck in they said it should be 6 days they had it done In 3. There was one thing I found wrong with my car and they had it in the next day to fix what I wasn't happy with. Hopefully I won't need to use a body shop again but if I do I will go back to Great Plains. read more

My Honda dealer said that Great Plains on 144th and Grover was the only body shop on their recommended list. I am so happy I called my dealer before getting estimates from numerous places. From the first step into the shop to the last one, their service and customer service is top notch. They were very helpful in dealing with the other driver's insurance company (he was at fault) and securing a rental for me. The Enterprise on-site was really convenient too. The communication came in the forms of phone calls, emails and texts. Lots of updates on what was happening. My car was finished two days before they estimated it to be. The work was excellent. I had more than $10,000 damage to my 5 month old Honda Pilot and it looks new! They not only cleaned my car before returning it to me but also fully detailed it. What a pleasant surprise! I will only recommend this place to other and if I am unfortunate to be involved in an accident again, i will only use this body shop.
